What the!? soo no one will be able to have mounts but CH's? So my male kaddu which i was hoping it can be used for mounts is worthless because of thischange? Nothing at lvl10 is mountable.

The Carrion Spat is CL 10 so it will be usable by non ch. BE's can also lower the CL of pets they make so they can make Kaadu's CL 10 as well.

This changes make my new petsI just bought useles, soI wasted my money as non ch for petsI cant call anymore soon. I think that hits the majority of non CH players that have now worthless pets. Would be nice if they at last get nerfed to level 10 and not made absolutley useless so we have to destroy them.

All this is fine and stuff I guess. I'll be dropping the profession because, basically, it isn't going to be possible to have some CH skills and still be crafter to any degree.

My question is, why are DE's alone being given the ability to control multiple droids? I don't understand why having my R2 unit with a weapons crafting station and mypowerdroidout at the same time is such an overbalancing situation? I mean, I have adroid with a repair module and I have a damaged probot, but you know what Thunder?

ICAN'T REPAIR MY OWNPROBOT WITH MY OWN REPAIR DROID BECAUSEI CAN'T HAVE THEM OUT AT THE SAME TIME!!

This is the most unstarwarsian thing about the game. It is a stupid restriction. It is obnoxious and upsetting and I personallyI can't understand why you wouldgive a non-combat crafting profession theability to have multiple droids out at thesame time, and notgive this capability to people who actually might have a NEED for this capability.

Since Creature Wars vs Star Wars has already been discussed (and most people agree that SWG should not look like this), I will give my opinion on one of the developers' favorite subject - class balance.

I am usually one to refrain from calling on changes to a class (either buffing it or nerfing it). I am a believer in everything becoming a bit more static so that people can better plan their character. However, if there are still to be fundamental class changes, and the developers want to bring balance to the classes, here is my opinion on balance.

/put on flame resistant suit

/stand on soapbox

I will do a comparison with a Master Bounty Hunter (pure combat class) and a Master Creature Handler (not a pure combat class since they can make additional money be selling creatures to non-CH, but I'll ignore that for now)

Doing some very quick calculations, a Master CH requires 106 skill points and a Master BH requires 217. I believe that a Master BH is approximately a level 25 (correct me if I am mistaken) - i.e. a level 25 creature cons white to a MBH. Even with a level 15 pet (assuming levels are additive - a bit oversimplifying I know, but still in the ballpark) a MBH could be a level 40 (25+15). That is 5.4 skill points per level (217/40). A MCH can have 60 levels in pets, thus are 20 levels more powerful than a MBH. This is 1.8 skill points per level (106/60).

Now when you take into account that CH is not a pure combat class (i.e. they can sell pets to non-CH and they will be able to sell creature mounts soon), there is a definite balance issue here. Now there are other arguments not taken into account (e.g. creatures only do kinetic damage, creatures can have better protections than existing armors, etc.), but the comparison still holds.

Now, am I calling for CH nerfs or BH buffs? No. I'm not even convinced that classes should be balanced. However, the developers have stated class balance as one of their top priorities. If this is the case, and if people want to see fewer pets and CHs, then something needs to me done.

So, is lowering the CL of non-CH pets the answer? No. Raising droid levels? Perhaps. Even so, this does not balance the classes (unless CHs can't use droids). Possible solutions could be one or more of the following: a) do nothing, b) make pets smaller, c) nerf max pet levels, d) require more skill points, e) buff other classes, f) turn CH into a merchant class (creature mounts), g) turn CH into "Droid Handlers", h) many other things we have yet to think of.

Developers need to decide 1) how they want the game to look and 2) how much class balance they want. They need to act quickly. Few things are more frustrating than planning you character, building your character, then having your character fundamentally changed by a patch, and having to replan your character. The longer they wait, the more upset customers they will have.

It just trips my trigger to call a person who learns a skill and then decides what particular trees that want to learn first an "exploiter".

Thats just BS and the personing making these slanderous remarks should be removed.

If doing what is provided in the game as a normal progression of a skill makes one an "exploiter", then what does that make the developer who created this so called "exploit"?

Does that make the architect who decides to just climb the installation tree so they can make big harvestors an "exploiter"?

Does that make the dancer who climbs the dance knowledge tree so they can do more dances an "exploiter"?

To call someone who decides to climb a particular branch of a skill tree an "exploiter" is idiotic, wrong, and slanderous.

Pt 3Thank you Thunderheart. All my questions have been answered. And my concerns have been put to rest. "Everything is proceeding as I have forseen..." But it's great, the changes do not feel like a nerf, I still get my 70 levels, I still get my three called pets, I get to direct my attacks at will, I get more storage, and I get to find new babies, including ones CL 60+ (which is FANTASTIC... please be kimogila, please be kimogila).

Except one thing still doesn't feel QUITE right, and believe me it's still not all bad... I'm glad novice was bumped up to 12. This allows use of the cu pa, probably one of the best early "starter" pets because of the ranged attack. However, I still think 15 would be a good level for novice. I'm master, so I honestly don't care either way. But it's just my two cents, and I think since we will soon see a lot of homeless/dead cowardly gurrecks/rock beetles, at least some of those would find a home with aspiring novice creature handlers. Plus, there aren't many CL 12 and under pets that are any good (can you name some of the upper end ones?) other than maybe the new mounts.

Also... the phrasing was ambiguous...

Will bio-engineers be able to lower the CL of our creations? With the limit of CL 10, non-CH can only ride Kaadu & Carrion Spat. Very limited choices.

Yes.

I assume you meant that BEs can lower the CL, NOT that it was limited choices. Just a clarification.

Thank you for your hard work Thunderheart, I eagerly await this going live.

Nope, ANYONE and EVERYONE can have a mount.

If you arent a CH, you just have go get or buy a critter and have it trained. You could even buy a critter from a BE, but then you would have to get it trained by a CH...

Nice vote of confidence for the BE's out there. "You can buy from them, but why when you will still have to go to a CH?"

Are there any CL10 or below mountable creatures that the BE can make, or will be able to make when the mounts come out? Are the changes to the BE clone line going to come out at the same time so that they can expirement the CL down?

I currently have a character that is a Master Doctor and Master BE, only have the BE to make the pet stims and vitality truthfully. Have never sold anything else or even had a request.
