Thread: “Oh my…sir, he says there are several creatures approaching
Ok that all sounds great but I am a little confused on how the levels are going to be gained. Are they going to look like this?
For a total of 70 with 1 at the 1 high end and 1 at the low end is it going to look like this
Master = +18
1 1 1 1
4 4 4 4
4 4 4 4
1 1 1 1
Novice = +12
Thanks for the info and I look forward to the creature change chart.
So, we are going to leave this in and instead change the XP-granting function so that you don't get double the XP for having two pets active.
Hmm. You are aware that the one main reason calling a second pet when working towards master CH is to lessen the pain of grinding to master? I can assure you that a normal player do not master CH too fast (what do you base this statement on?) .
According to the character generators you need 1.190.000 CH xp to master. When I grinded, I got at most 640 per creature per pet. This means 1860 creatures killed. With two pets, it's "just" 930. This translates to over 100 giant baz lairs. Mind you, I often had pets that gave me only 460-540 xp - it was a balancing game trying to find the perfect grinding pet that also didn't just die right away(I thinl CL 16 was the perfect level for baz).
Please rethink this and don't make a game only power gamers can enjoy. Grinding to CH was hard enough with TWO pets generating XP for me.
You guys had me worried there a little, but you have more than restored my faith!
My only question [so far] is with the XP thing:
So, we are going to leave this in and instead change the XP-granting function so that you don't get double the XP for having two pets active.
Say you have 2 pets with different CL, what experience will you get? Will it be the XP for the higher CL pet [ lower XP ], the lower CL pet [ higher XP ], or some average of the 2 ?
Thanks a bunch for getting back to us so fast, Thunderheart
"Unfortunately, most of these pets will be stuck in your datapad. You won't be able to call them or trade them (unless they know the transfer command), because they are higher level than 10. Your only option will be to destroy the PCD."
What the!? soo no one will be able to have mounts but CH's? So my male kaddu which i was hoping it can be used for mounts is worthless because of thischange? Nothing at lvl10 is mountable.
Now, will you be addressing 'the plan' for DEs and our concerns, or will we hear about all the DE changes (stronger Probot?) in a CH thread?
As a MCH, I love the new skilltree!
Keep up the good work!

I can't wait to tam lv 60 creatures!
Did you even read his post? Thunderheart said: After discussing this internally, we've decided it's not a problem to leave the max level at 70 rather than at 60.
Did you read the post?
Below level 50, creatures which are never tamable will be the exception rather than the rule.
Creatures 60+ will be very, very rare.
We will soon have rare creatures above CL 50 that we can tame.

These changes are looking better, but still will actually cause more MCHs not less creatures.
When you can solve this puzzle you have the answer:
I am a 1 0 2 1 rifleman. I need to be able to solo without a pet.
Solve that. You've done it. Anything less.... you still have pet wars. Just more higher level CH.
If the changes to the melee classes go through, part of this wil be taken care of.
However, in the case of riflemen, unless the warping issue is resolved, you're still going to be in a situation where you'll need a pet or another player to take on higher level mobs, because someone will need to tank for you given the melee penalties you suffer.
This is looking better all of the time! Rank affects faction pets, CL60 pets and rare spawn specials, calling pet special attacks on command, class specific pet bonuses and restrictions. You guys are truely on top of it and listening to the worthwhile suggestions of the players. My faith, while waining, has begun to renew ![]()
With some pet CL and stat adjutments, both up or down depending, this will be a very viable systemI think.
Doh, made a miscalculation of numbers - its not that I didn't read the post, I just thought it was another person whining about the cap lowering of CH from PT2 when its actually being raised. Heh - I can't believe I got three people responding with almost the same reply. ![]()
What happened to One Number to rule them all?
Looks like you just kept them same system but spread out Taming skill, but lumped Storage into one column.
No complaints from me, but it looks very odd seeing a developer (not you) swing to extremes like that.
