I'm thinking of taking Chef back up...but can my Wookiee wear the hat?

Sorry, I'm not rolling a Wookiee on TC and grinding up to Novice Chef to find that out.

This is one of the areas that droid engineer fixes could help the chefs.

One of the (many) ideas that the DE's have is something like a GrillMaster 5000 module for utility droids. Right now, there is the generic food/chem crafting station that can be placed in droids. The GrillMaster 5000 would act as a specialized chef module, but would give better experimentation results and higher stats on the resulting food.

Yes, wookies can wear the hat. You don't even need to be a chef to wear it though, but given how goofy it looks, who else but a chef would wear it?

I have milked Cu Pa and Eopie, all of the wild variety. One seems to need to stay within 5 meters of target animal to maintain milking process. Originally, one could milk babies, but after a quick patch that is no longer so. Yield from milkings have ranged from 12 to 22 units. On a few occassions, have been able to milk while the creature was being attacked by another creature, not sure if this should stay as such. Still searching for other creatures, there may have been a third that I found on Tat, but cannot remember which it was.

I dont have a Chef on the TC, I was hoping that Char Copy would be in by now, as I can't face gathering the resources to master Chef a 3rd time, but I do have some comments based on other Chefs reports.

Stomache - 1 hour for the stomache to empty is unacceptable. This is a massive nerf to chefs.
We have items that need multiple uses to be of use to a player, which will fill the stomache for an hour, but last well short. I can understand a 30min delay between reuse on skill buffs, but stat buffs need to be able to be used one after the other, with 5min between max. No other buff in the game has this limitation. Spices can be taken 3 mins after the last one ended, docs can rebuff you instantly, as can dancers and musicians (they have an effective 5min delay for the setperform). Chef ONLY make buffs, but this makes us the only buffer with such a long delay.
I suggest 30mins max between a skill buff dropping & it clearing from the stomache, and 5mins max for stat buffs.

Stat buff levels : This is another direct Chef nerf. As an example, Breath of Heaven currently buffs Str Qui & Focus for ~450 for 6mins. You can take one per 6mins PLUS food, for an effective 450 permabuff as long as you have enough of them.
Under the new scheme, we would need to take 3 drinks that more or less fill use, lasts 15mins-20mins but cannot be taken for another hour. This unfairly penalises the Chef.
These new levels may be fine when the new HAM system comes int, but not in the months we have to wait.
Chefs have had months of useless items as it is with the stack and then stat bugs that crippled the chefs business. Reduce our stat buffs when you do the same to ALL buffs, and not before.

Pet HAM buffs - these are next to useless to all but novice CH's and non-ch's - and only marginally usefull then. 1.5k HAM on a master buff would be great for a player, but CH's want secondary stat buffs on pets to aid regen. CH's will simply go to a doctor and get all 6 H/A stats buffed for 2000+ for 2 hours+. If these buffs were on pet regen stats, or on players, they would be of some use.

Overall, it appears to me that this revamp was thrown together quickly without really thinking about it, and should change drastically, or be postponed until the new HAM system is in, along with nerfs on ALL buffing classes, not just the Chef.

If there is a real chance of us getting changes, I will happily continue a meaningful dialogue in order to facilitate a worthwhile revamp.

I have been what would be considered a power gamer in swg. I have 4 acocunts, 1 is master chef/musician. 1 is holo grinder on 12th profession and close, 1 is imperial doc/cm and last is imperial master tkm and rifleman. Should this patch go ahead lets examine what happens to me for a moment. Selfish yes but important none the less.

My chef. After 6 months of collecting the best resources in game for chefs my fishaks are the best on the server, i sell these out faster than i can restock them. I also am one of the only suppliers of glucose on the server. Also best quality on server. Atm i have over 50 crates of each of these, some 5-10 million in stock goes BUME. Gone. These best selling items are replaced with mediocre buffs that inadequately cover a variety of skills. In addition to this my advantage of having the best resources that are months old is gone, because all new resources need ot be collected. This is good and bad, good for aspiring and up and coming chefs cos we're all back on level playing field, bad for me cos i lose my advantage and am back on a level playing field. So my hard work for months is lost.

My holo grinder self explanitory. gooooonnnnneeee have to start afresh basically.

My imperial tka/rifle can no longer wear his armor or use his weapon or carry spice. After investing thousands of faction on becomeing a colonel (6500 faction) i can lose A WHOLE RANK for carryingwhat they call contraband??? I hardly doubt that if a stormtrooper was fighting the ewoks on endor with a better gun than he could otherwise use that he would be demoted. more likely he wouldbe promoted for being the best he could be. As for spices and other contraband. The imperials distribute spices in the books. In addition he doesnt have glucose orspice and fishak to control the rediculous hams costs on his weapons. So basically my rifleman is now useless. Without this char there is no point keeping its support char so thats the end of that too.

So in one patch i stand to lose pretty much everything i have worked for over my summer holiday break in the last 3 to 4 months. Completely off topic but thats 4 accounts that i will happily cancel unless this patch is reviewed. and i think i'll be better of for it. Is this a **edit** and a whine, it certainly is, this is sony at its worst. one would have thought they'd of learnt from their mistakes in everquest, one would be sadly mistaken.

Im srry, but, most of the food consumed by all the ppl i talk to on bloodfin eat food for mind buffs. If you have ever have shotheadshot3 with a t21 having a 500 focus(zabrak limit) you need mind food/drink. Cuts about 100 off your mind ever few seconds, forget wearing armor, what you think your mind is gonna be like after a few headshots with a 100 focus? Some of you may say, 'get a musican buff'. Musican buffs are nice, however, finding one that is not afk may take up an hour just to get one if you find one. Then if you do get one and you can finally wear your armor, your back down to 300-500 focus, doing headshots will no longer be possible, healing will no longer be effective since your mind will drain waaaay too quick. I predict this will make it alot more diffcult to pvp as well. Your just gonna run around for your mind to regen :/. Maybe if you let ppl migrate thier stats to wherever they want to, might help alittle.

I see there are some mind foods, but, compared to what they are now, thier worthless. On bloodfin, ryschates are anywhere from 350's-450's, breath of heavens from 450's to 600's, fishaks from 450's-590, glazed glucose 350-450's. These items help out EXTREMLY in many different circumstances. From eating one to be able to doctor buff ppl without your mind going to 0 and making ppl wait more than they are. In pvp were ppl are doing headshots with jawas for up to 400dmg per second!?!?! If there are no decent focus food you better not shoot back if your a riflemen, you'll kill yourself before they kill you. Less ppl are wearing armor as it is because of the decay, what do you guys think will happen if they cant eat food to even shoot with thier armor on? thier not gonna wear it, thier not gonna buy it. Who has that much inventory space to carry 15 different foods + for all those occasions.

I do like the ideas about having different 'buffs' for food, butwhy change it beyond that? Why take out the fishaks and the ryschates and the glucose's. Your taking out the good mind food for a reason. Only possiblities I can think of would be to get more dancers/musicians(very hard to come by but I dont think taking away mind food will bring ppl screaming to get master dancer). The re-amp of combat, but I would think you would change the special spamthe same time you changed the food. Maybe I have been gone for a months and didnt notice, but I didnt hear anyone complaining about the mind food/drink that where all using, so why take it out? Seriously tho, why take that out when im sure more servers other than bloodfin eat mind food up like hotcakes. Decreased incapication time? the whole point is not to get incaped, and hopefully you have a doc/cm with you to heal any stat that needs be, most ppl dont get incaped by a kaddu. You may say it will help out the new ppl that get incaped more often from smaller mobs, but, thier not gonna have the money to go travel, buy, and use repeatedly those substances. +10 to dodge? look at a pistoleer/fencer, you cant hit them anyway, go fencer/pistoleer if you want to not get hit using a dodge defense.

I would have like to see more powerfull foods, but maybe require harder to aquire resources, like 10 different resources, but have a huge impact when consuming that product. example...rori fiberplast...green diamond gemstone...dathomir insect meat...tatooine berries...endor carnivore meat...kammris iron...polysteel copper all need to make a really nice drink that boost all your health by a good amount, almost like a doctor buff, another set of ingredents to boost your action/mind/focus/willpower ect. Now that I would find extremly fun, make it a chalenge to aquire

Also the incap one wont be a good seller in pvp, you tell me someone who gets incapped in pvp and doesnt have someone either db them from range, db them close or stand over the mgriefing them waiting for them to stand up.

DONT TAKE OUR GOOD SCHEMATICS AND REPLACE THEM WITH A VARIETY OF INADEQUATE ONES

all established chefs will suffer from this revamp. And all pvpers will also. Devs how bout a lil feedback have you listened to the cries from those that play these classes, cos its pretty **edit** clear you don't.

oops...

make it a challenge to aquire the ingredients. The more chalenging the greater the outcome. Nothing off-the-wall like a krayt pearl+nighsister bicep or something. Maybe stuff like the nightsister schematic, but for different foods. There are soooo many ideas i can think of for so many instances of this game, as im sure the dev's have too,its mindblowing. I just dont understand some of these changes. If good mind food goes I know i wont play as much. That may sould cliche but its the truth, I just wont be able to pvp, my mind is the thing that kills me, like most ppl, if i can throw poisons, or i cant heal my teamates h/a/m's what good am I? No more loot hunting, wont be able to kill anything without mind food. I be reduced to crafting and not too much exploring, that will get old pretty quick guys. Remember this tho, with jawas doing stun dmg and the highest stun helmet available to date on our server at 39%, even with a 37% stun psg my 1000mind will be gone in a matter of seconds. What fun is that when 50% ppl are riflemen? I slowed that down with mind food, now i wont be able to do that. /me waves bye to pvp and high lvl mob hunting.

Srry TH, some really good concepts, and i mean that, but the realityof it pertainingto alot of the game situations just is not practical imo.

Just a quick question: chef will still make Fishak and Glucose right? These are by far the biggest seller and if these were gotten rid of, well I'd just stop buying stuff from chefs myself.

Im not a chef I havent tested this on Test Center but I am a perrson who reads the Test Center boards religously an dtake what these guys and gals warn us about as solid gold.

I am very active in pve and pvp and it is going to be very dissapointing if a substitue isnt in place for Angel and GCP by the time these revisions go live.

Being able to buff you mind stats with food is one of THE MOST IMPORTANT aspects of food. As a guild my guld goes through well over 1000 units of each of these a week. Regardless of the FUTURE combat changes - we need something now that works till the system changes. Especially for PVP where Melee and Rifleman can specifically target the mind pool. Dancer and Musician buffs? **edit** does it take so long to buff - its rediculous that to buff a large group it should take fifteen minutes or five minutes a piece. If your going on a raid by time your done buffing your half way through the first person buffs.

PLEASE DO NOT TAKE AWAY some of our favorite foods, revamp them if you want but dont get rid of them without a viable replacment.
