Just thought I share my experience with the new system.
It seems great if you ask me. I logged on a couple of days after the update, havent been playing much up untill now.
Checked my status, I wasn't glowy. Only mastered 10 proffs. But I didn't cry because of that. I continued what I had been doing before, getting all the POI badges. After I think about 6 more poi badges I thought, "Hey, lets check the force status again"
And what did ya know, I was glowy!
Haven't met Santa Claus yet but hoping he will come visit me soon.
He probably has a lot too do.

Ok guys i been around for a year and im glad i finally get a chance to be a jedi but i need info 
im glowy and did 2 of my holo professions, now do i have to wait for the people who did more holo professions than me to complete their quests? or will i get a visit from the old man just as fast as them? I just need a typical yes or no response but an explanation would be nice, thanks guys!

One more question i forgot to include in my last post, where will the old man come to me? In a city? In a Player city? While im out on a mission? Thanks for any replies to my post

I agree,the game is awesome and getting better all the time,if these folk all stopped whining all the time and just played the game for fun. I've been playing SWG since Beta3 and i'm still loving it! Ok so i've only mastered 5 proffesions,but so what! that's my choice. Folk that are always whining bout the game really do GET ON MY **edit**'S !!!!!!! either play the bloody game OR QUIT !!! STOP BLOODY WHINING!!!!
Jesus,if they ain't complaing bout this there complaining about the content or summit else,if it wasn't for the Devs and the art designers and all the other people involved in making SWG from a concept into a great game and letting people immerse ourselves into the world of Star Wars what would we have eh???? Or do you wanna go back to the days of Pong on the Atari??? I've grown up/old through the gaming revolution,from the old zx speccy right through to today's games with there awesome graphics.
Games today are colourfull,spectacular,detailed and much more, and who's this all down too???? DEVS,ART DESIGNERS,PROGRAMMERS AND MANY MANY MORE PEOPLE DEDICATED TO MAKING YOUR SPARE TIME ENJOYABLE and what do most of you lot do all the freaking time do,BRING EM DOWN ! I'd really like to see most of you out there do better !

Just after that i got that one: You have completed your task !
Quest Journal has been updated.
Now its 10h00 PM no sith come to attack me yet 
Wondering if im bugged since i cant enter village.

This could be just like finding the pirates for the hero quest... but you CANT find who you need and it's a matter of luck if he shows up. If there are crafter jedi, how are artisans supposed to get jedi? Its all about badges and there's no way a pure crafter char can hope to get near to enough badges.

I Just wanted to point out to several of you wanting to become a Jedi. This part is easy compared to grinding Padowan. Have you really thought about how long it takes to grind 32-34 mill EXP(not including losses for deaths)? I would venture to say playing every day ... with many hours on weekends ... a minimum of 6 months (12-14 hr days on weekends, 2-3 hours weeknights). For the serious, but less frequent player... many more months. Also that your exp is capped per kill. I am about 1/3 of the way there with exp capped at 1155 per kill on Voritors. I really wish there were some better ways of getting exp then just the repeated boaring slaughter of NPC Beasts.
I dont know what triggers an exp increase ...
So, back to my point... for those of you that wanted a quick fix by making Jedi, it ain't going to happen over night. Even if you grinded all 32 professions, that will seem trivial to grinding Padowan to Knight.
SOE wants your money and commitment to play for a long long time.

I was glowing since the patch, but it has now been two days and no old man.

I find it interesting that most of the people here are complaining about the old man when this area is meant to converse about the changes that were made to the jedi that already are in the game. LOL why dont you post with the other 1000 or so people flaming this pub in the reckoning thread?Just makesa bit more sence to me!P.S logged in glowing after the pub and the old hasnt come but Ive made a few thousand creds in the meantime

Same here man...I am giving them until 12AM...No old man, 30 bucks a month out of the window...I don't have to put up with this on other MMORPGs...I keep asking myself why I keep paying...It's got to be just the Star Wars name...how sad...

This is some info rfor TH:
So I am out in the wilderness of Corellia. I am working Pistols IV and found a few good wild lairs. I was able to get enough Xp solo(not solo grouped) to finish off Pistols IV and get Novice Smuggler. So I decided to run into coronet and get some training. After getting Pistols IV I jumped a shuttle over to Mos eisley where I got my Novice smuggler. So now I needed some locked containers. Well I just happened to have those in my large house on naboo. So I decided to go there. When I got to trade Winds outside of Theed, I realized there were a few things I had to do and was going to go afk for a bit. I went outside the city so I could work my survival Xp in a camp while I went afk. So I make a camp and drop it. This is what the scene looked like a few seconds after I dropped the camp:

You can imagine my surprise. So I talked to him:

And then he was gone, leaving me the force crystal I needed to protect. I had to go afk so instead I logged out. Hopefully I meet up with the sith when I log back on in a few.
Here is my chat log showing what he said and then what I said afterwards. lol I blacked out the bad language. lol

So I will be reporting all I can about this path.
Just so people know. I did the hologrind until my 12th professions in May. I finished 3 holocrons before they went silent. I have done all 3 jedi POIs, both warren badges, one corvette, nym, jabba, and the rebel theme park. I have been to most of the POIs. I am pretty sure I qualitied under the new system since I did not unlock prior to pub 10. I was how ever glowing when I logged in on patch day. This all happened about 30 minutes ago. I will be logging back in about 30 minutes from now.
