Ok, 22 pages is alot to read.. I went through the first 10 or so and this is what ive determined. ImNOT confirming this, its more of a question to see if I have everything straight. So please respond.

Ok..Situation:Your qualified to get a visit by the old man via the group thingbut you are not glowy. (you were a hologrinder)

Option1: Your work is done.. you dont have to get "glowy" but you have to wait for each group to get visited first.

Option2: If you don't want to wait, just simply get "glowy" and you qualify.

Also to my understading you get a certain amout of FS skill tree's based on how many holo professions you have mastered right? If you have no holo's mastered then you start from scratch grinding right?

Ok.. Situation: You don't qualify to get a visit via the group thing. (you don't have enough holo professions)

Only Option: Get glowy (if you are not already) then you qualify.

So basically the group thing (if there is such a thing) if for hologrinders that just want to wait for their turn instead of getting glowy.

Is this correct so far?

I've mastered 30 professions and am glowing. On TC Chilastra I received 5 unlocks.

I played for several hours last night, an hour this morning, and a few hours since I got home from work.

No visit from the old man as of yet.

Many are reporting visits but those people are the ones who did not grind professions and most have under 5 professions total.

Yes! it appears access to the village is foremost, then you can worry about holocredit if there is any. Either way doesn't matter because the credit will determine how fast you become jedi. A brand new toon who gets the old man today still has to go through 15 weeks of trials before the exit quest. An unlocker who gets the old man a week from today will get the exit quest immediately ( hmmm 15 - 1 week seems like a good amount of credit to me ).

Thanks NativeBlood. Everybody whining just made everything 100x more complicated. The new system is pretty cool I think, it forces people to do quests and stuff rather than just grinding. Yesterday I was at Nym's, Imp and Jabba's park, and I saw many people there. It's nice to seeing people around doing stuff like that rather then just grinding away all day.

I have 9 professions mastered, somaybe I will have enough credit to unlocka Force Sensitive tree. If not, no big deal, just gotta wait more.

I got a question for ya... did your force crystal show any pending quests ot completed quest before the sith showed up? Mine is competely blank and am wondering if I am bugged.... as usual the csr responded with a fomr factor letter about blah blah blah so they wont even tell me if having a completely blank foce crystal before sith arival is bugged...

OK this is the situation I deal with. I'm a Marines Stationed oversees. I've been playing since November. I have a 60 hour a week job and the server reboots when its 8:00 PM here, prime time. I have a broadband connection and have never had a ping time lower than 260 ms. I often don't agree with everything the devs do, but I HONESTLY CANNOT BELIEVE THE PROLIFERANCE OF WHINEY SELF INDULGENT CHILDREN, WHO CONSTANTLY INSIST THAT THE DEVELOPERS RUN THIS GAME TO FIT THEIR ASSUMPTIONS AND EXPECTATIONS, AND THREATEN TO CANCEL THEIR ACCOUNTS IF THEY DON'T GET THEIR WAY.

I'd like to speak on behalf of people who actually enjoy this game and think its getting better. Please cancel your account I don't want to play with you anyway. I think the devs have gone a long way to enhance the content of this game. No one told you to take the day off of work/school. You did that of you own volition and you can't hold SOE accountable because you assumed that you'd see the Old Man immediately. If you really needed to see an old man you should have taken the day off to go golfing.

Here's a revelation you probably don't want to hear, but desperately need to understand the world is not about you. Have you looked around these forums. If you look at 10 different posts you get 50 different oppinions(often contradictory) about how this game should be run. Here's my solution: If you enjoy the game, keep paying and keep playing. If you don't enjoy the game, go away. If you have something constructive to say, include it in a forum under that topic. If you just want to **edit**, put it in a forum entitled "My long winded rambling of groans and complaints" or even better just "wah, freakin wah." That way I know not to waste my time opening your forum.

I still don't understand

another thing... what about those born jedi (unlocked pre 9)? those people that either have never had normal professions or have completed their template. how do they learn/change fs skills?

no xp to convert

no way to get xp other than dropping boxes worth millions of jedi xp

no way to change fs skills without dropping at least 1.5 million box (must have 24 fs boxes)

can't convert jedi xp to use for fs xp

would be nice if one of the npc's offered first a way to convert jedi xp into fs xp and a fs skill box swap option. trade one box for another and have the amount of xp deducted from what you have stored.

Does he say anything before you talk to him (Like a greeting so we know he's spawned)? Or do you have to approach him for him to start talking,

Actually, I only did 1 holoprofession that I know of (4 professions total, Scout, Marksman, read first holo, which said rifleman, then mastered swordsman, then rifleman). Old man visited me after 1 day.

My old man visited me just as I was 5 seconds from logging out. I hurriedly talked to him, then I was logged out, then I immediately relogged, and then a second old man visited me. I could speak to only one of the old men, the other wouldn't let me speak to him. Consequently I have a quest journal now which is blank, it lists no completed quests nor incompleted quests, not even that I've spoken to the old man. I've relogged, which didn't get me a new visit from the old man. I fear my quest journal is stuck due to my premature logout, and that I won't be able to progress any further due to this.

Can I delete my quest journal, will that trigger a new visit from the old man? I'm trying to get in touch with a CSR so they can reset my character so I get another visit from the old man and a working journal. Just like in TC2, it seems that these journals start acting up if you even look at them sideways.
