Thread: IT 6-6: Imperial Crackdown: Some changes made based on In-Test Feedback

Why is it realistic? The reason is that in order to join the Rebel faction you have done crimes against the empire, i.e. all those missions that you have done to get those faction points. Do you not think that they would have a database with your image scans. What image scans you ask? Well, did you remember to pick up the pieces of that destroyed imperial probot on your last mission. I do not think so. (joking)As it stands now before this update, no one is enforcing the laws, having contraband means nothing, being a smuggler means you can slice and has no other real meaning.I do not see howyou can say that this update does not add to realism of the star wars theme. If you break the laws of the universe, you should have to pay whether that be a neutral by credits or a rebel bytheir life.
Yes, there should be a penalty for being caught with contraband but that penalty should NOT force people into PVP. Period. Also, said penalty should be for EVERYONE not just Rebels and Neutral players. At the very least, any Imperial caught with contraband in a neutral or Rebellion-friendly city should suffer the same consequences as Rebels/Neutrals (Rebels would be exempt in Rebel-friendly cities). Ten bucks says people (Imperial people) will "cry" about this suggestion. Gee, I wonder why. Maybe because the penalty is NOT fair.

On the contrary, what is not realistic is having tons of Overt Rebels running around Theed and Bestine and other Imperial controlled cities with no recourse of action by the Empire. Likewise,I do think they should boost RebelNPC patrols in rebel controlled cities also such as Anchorhead, Corellia, etc...
Well, firstly, we're talking about COVERT Rebels here. Bringing up Overts is irrelevant. But to address that point, Overt Imperials should do something about that problem then. Isn't that the point of the GCW?

Yeah, I read the design notes, it says it turns you Overt, it does not say permanently. When you get flagged you are turned overt but once the flag expires you are back to covert. Even if this is the case, and I misunderstood which is probably the case, you can then just destroy the probot before it completes its scan then you will be tef.
As someone else pointed out, you cannot revert back to Covert without visiting a recruiter or dying. So, no, the flag doesn't expire.
And before the illegal contraband issue comes up again. SOE or whoever uses it as a counter point can just come and reimburse me everything that I have purchased that I still own since July 2nd so I can avoid detection.
I see millions of credits in my future *rubs hands together*

Typical lame responce for those that doesnt have a valid arguement.
If it makes the smugglers feel better I, as a fairly high ranked Imp, don't intend smuggling anything for anyone. =D

Especially since there is nothing keeping you from taking a person's stuff and running off with it. The smugglers seem to keep ignoring this though....
Could someone whoexperienced the Imperial Crackdown on the Test Center or Test Center-Bria tell us how the experience is (Rebel/Imperial)? (My character is undevelopedat the Test Center atm.) Like it? Hate it?
One more thing, why do Rebels want Imps who fail the scan or get saluted become overt or TEFed? If you're an overt Reb standing next to a scanner team, you will probably kill the team before they scan the Imp. If you're a covert Reb you cannot shoot at an overt Imp ![]()
And don't bother buying 100 droids with storage compartments. The Devs will most likely change the rules sonon-DE's can only have 2 (or have they changed this already.......i don't bother with droids much).

We aren't ignoring it. But because one person chooses not to, does not mean others will do the same. I know several who wouldn't give a rip if they carried my stuff, to help me out, and we aren't even friends. It's the respect and reputation of the individuals in a mutually beneficient, civilized player community.
hey silversaber, next time u make an uninformed comment, u should read the whole thread first, maybe u should go notice my page long responses and valid arguments, u know i would expect more from a community veteran...

It was a lame response, and you know it. Uncalled for too.
And I have read your responses, and I stand by my statement
And finally, it's "you" not "u". If your going to present an argument, at least try to follow the English language. Misspelling an occasional word is common and understandable, but using "u" in place of "you" is just plain lazy and pathetic.
