Thread: IT 6-6: Imperial Crackdown: Some changes made based on In-Test Feedback

*sigh*
this is sadening , the sad part is that if enough people whine and complain they will remove the cool aspects of this crack down , at that point i will lose my hope on the devs having enough balls to stay true to their choices and stop listening to people that are classic to stay covert while all the rebels are losing a battle and once the fights turns around they start asking for invites , sad sad sad .
this is my final plea dont listen to the whiners for once and just go for what your heart tells you , or open a server were no pvp is on at all ,
i still fail to see what is so wrong about dying to an enemy player , running boring endless npc missions puts me to sleep , pvp is awesome with the unbalances and all , thats why i love the GCW ,
either gives us pvpers a server were we can copy our players and leave the whiners alone , or do the same to the whining factioned players that feel that pvp is soo awefull and go kill their bases , i wouldnt go to such a place for nothing in the world , but hey , people have the right to not pvp right ?
so there since i know most people like pvp (at least the cool people ) then let the non pvpers run to their pvp safe heaven
and for the guy that said i dont have my bachelors cause i dont type in a forum like you do doesnt mean anything , what are you trying to prove anyways , this is a game .
P.D:not everyone playing this game studies in the USA , or plays in the USA , open up your mind a bit , the world is bigger than your small town in indiana
Interesting, the minority that calls the majority whiners.
Very interesting.
ok god i cant take this anymore, all rebs are seriously insane, i'm serious, well not all of you just the ones complaining about PvP and imperial TEFs for failing scans, i hate to be so blunt but, ur all so dumb...
lets see, why did u join the rebellion... u joined so that u could fight a war against the tyranny of the evil empire, lemme reiterate u joined to fight a war, a war against who u might ask, yes thats right against imperials, whether it be NPC imperials or real imperials all imperials are all still imperials, the only difference, ur scared of the few higher ranked real imperials that can kill you, my answer to you, grow up stop crying and if u dont want PvP drop out of the faction (like i did (i plan on going imp tho cause i'm sick of all u whining rebs)) its an insurgency an internal struggle of the small and weak vs the big bad guys, you arent supposed to win, life isnt supposed to be fun, this is why u joined the rebellion in the first place, to make life better for everyone, this is why ur fighting this war... now if u didnt join the rebellion for these reason, i.e u just wanted to play with ur friends, shame on u, u dont deserve to be under the rebel banner, and dont gimme that crap this game is supposed to be balanced for everyone, no its not, its not a game, someone is telling a story through an interactive medium, a game implies that players have an effect on the overall outcome... we dont, we all know that, we play becuase we love the story, and if u dont get that, u dont deserve to play this game...
we need some dev to step up and just grab his nuts and say hey listen, if u dont like it quit playing we'll find 100 more people to replace you, and i for one if they ever do that will respect them in a way that i dont think any other man should for another man (i'm sure there are women devlopers i was just trying to over emphasize with oh **edit** i dont need to explain myself)
so thats my piece, live with it...
This is a MMORPG, you can expect things to change and evolve over time, so I do not think quoting the original handbook over and over is very useful. Particularly, sincewhat you are quoting is stillcorrect even within the context of the upcoming changes. Being covert you are still protected andare not attacked, it is when you become flagged that you get attacked. It is just now the covert scanners are moving around and you must use more strategy if you wish to remain safe and avoid the tef(i.e. group with smugglers or find other strategies). If you wish to be a Rebel as you are, you should be happy with the changes becauseit should add more realism, you are after all a wanted individual by the government.

I can understand your concern regarding the random scans in the wild by probots which is what seems to be your main reason againstthischange. But even with this, it should not be a problem. if you incur a tef, why can you not just wait your way out of it? Is it an inconvience, yes. Is it realistic, yes I think so, if it is not over done. It should be rare hopefully.
Because its not incurring a TEF, read the proposed rules please.
The Scan turns you OVERT.
No TEF to wait out, you have to find a Faction Recruiter to turn Covert again.
Completely and utterly unacceptable.

What, exactly, is realistic about your faction affiliation being revealed because you a sliced weapon on your person? If the Empire could just scan a person and find out he or she sympathized with the Rebellion, there would be no Rebellion. Sure, higher ups in the Alliance heirarchy (Mon Mothma, Princess Leia, etc.) would be known but do you really think the grunts (read: US IN THE GAME) would be a blip on the Empire's radar? No. So, please, save the "it's realistic" nonsense; it simply isn't true.

TH this proposed plan is terrible beyond belief. The constant catering to the Imperial faction by the devs is enough. Not to mention that this hurts a profession that was illdeveloped from the start and then nerfed afterwards.
I can tell you for certain that the whole Smuggling community is not behind this. We wantd our chance to smuggle and now we're just smuggling covert rebels. Once we start charging a fee imagine what will happen to said covert rebels. I guess that's why the smuggling revamp was put up so late. Could it be that we weren't getting anything at all?
I tell you these changes reek and I only wish I could really tell you how bad this is.
Constant catering? Um, where?
Nerfed AT-ST's. Nerfed faction pets. Rebel group TEFs. Yeah sounds like catering to those **edit** imps to me! NOT
Apart from nerfed AT-STs, if your faction pets were nerfed then rebel faction pets were nerfed as well. Also Imperials group TEF as well. So you're only gripe is your AT-ST then right?

There you go with the "unacceptable" again. Do you think they call of the APB and taker down the Wanted posters 5 minutes after they ID you?
Or do you think that it makes more sense that you have to go see a recruiter who can get you new ID papers or whatever it takes so that you aren't immediately recognized as a fugitive?
What I'm hearing a lot from Rebels in this thread is "No fair! We want to choose when and where we fight the Imperials!"
Sorry, a true Rebel is always at war with the Empire, not just when it's convenient for them.
The Rebels were simply getting too big for their britches in game - when overt Rebels camp the launch pad in Bestine, when you see them casually strolling around Theed, there's a problem.
When there are more Rebels than Imperials, there's a problem.
I sincerely hope this crackdown weeds out the "casual Rebels" who aren't truly xommitted to the cause. The Rebellion needs heroes, not fair weather friends.
No, more accurate is: We want to choose when and where we PvP"

Yeah, I read the design notes, it says it turns you Overt, it does not say permanently. When you get flagged you are turned overt but once the flag expires you are back to covert. Even if this is the case, and I misunderstood which is probably the case, you can then just destroy the probot before it completes its scan then you will be tef.
Um..it doesnt work that way at all.
If we are switched to Overt, then we are Overt until we reach a Faction recruiter to change back.
Only TEFs are temporary.
Hey Jabbawakka, you want realistic Star Wars?
From this day forth:
No Bounty Hunters are allowed to join a faction.
No Smugglers are allowed to be Imperial.
No non human species is allowed to be Imperials (only humans).
No Imperials are allowed to travel around Covert.
No Imperials are allowed spice.
No Imperial is allowed any armor choice besides Storm Trooper armor.
There are probably a few more things that are allowed in this game but were not in any of the movies in this time setting.
You misunderstood what I wrote. I was saying, if you see an imperial probot in the countryside and you are covert rebel, if you destroy it before it scans you then you would get a tef not be coverted to declared overt. Is this the case?
I am justseeing if there are strategies forcovert rebels to use toavoid this while not in cities.
