Sorry this is all very unclear, I have a character that did no holo-grinding, has only master marksman, but he feels the inner glow. Now I will have to wait until an undetermined time to get the old man, is that a correct assumption?

I have been playing since Day 01. So has he. I now have something to look forward to... so does he!! Over the past 14 months, I have never played a more enjoyable game, and I also have never heard so many people screaming about the so called unjust and unfair practices of the Developers and the "Great Satan" SOE. Ridiculous. About someone mentioning a "Class Action Lawsuit"? Read the TOS, any and everything involved with the play of the game, and talk to an attorney so they can laugh at you. In fact, I'll save you the charge, call me so I can laugh at you. Cancel your account, that means I will make the village faster without you in the way.
If you people want to be "Instant" Jedi, go play KOTOR, you start off as one. No one "owes" you anything. I can't believe what I'm hearing on these boards. Did you people honestly believe that there would be put into place a system that allows anyone and everyone to become a Jedi at will? Come on! If you are wanting a end-game scenario, this is not the game for you... obviously some people do not realize that... kind of like the Credit Dupe folks. As far as "I took a vacation day" and "I have been waiting for THIS?!?!" people? Really, folks. Save your vacation for something that gets you out of the basement, like the premier of Episode III so you can go stand in line.
TH? Good job as far as I can see so far... don't worry about the Naysayers...

I have to say that i am really upset. I am upset because this waiting was not mentioned until after you released the patch. I was so worked up for this new patch. I even took a few days off of the game so that when it did come out i could get online and play for hours.
Now i have no idea when or iff the Old man will visit. This is really disapointing.
I am really thinking of canceling my 3 accounts. I just don't see the point any more.
I really thought that SOE and this game would have been something special. I can't believe how far from the truth that has been.

Ok, from what i have read in this thread, and the MANY MANY replies, forum shutdowns, forum slowdowns, etc... isthe following...
#1, lots of people are upset about this situation, granted, understandable.
#2, patience is not a virtue when it comes to money, I had hoped that SOE would have seen this.
#3, TH answered a question wrong lol, when asked about group times, he answered with holo information...
anywho, this is how i see it, even after reading all the other forums, etc...
SOE put the patch live today, tonight (server reboot timeframe) they will evaluate the number of eligible people for old man visit PER GALAXY, and how many they would be able to push into Dathomir of those people, then tomorrow, they will check to see how many of those people actually show up, and start upping the old-man spawns PER GALAXY based on the populations, number of eligible, and load.
This would make sense that a server such as Bria would have much higher gated times then say Tarquinas, simply because there are MANY more people on Bria then Tarquinas so therefore the loads and gates would have to be handled differently. ALSO, factoring in how many people will re-up there subscription since publish 10 is now live (I know of at least 20 on my server that had canceled till pub10).
As I myself qualify for glowy status, and "should" recieve a wandering old man visit myself when I log in tonight, I really won't expect one till tommorrow based on what I SPECULATE to be what is happening. So tonight I will login, deal with my vendor issues, start some more factory runs, go do some janta missions, hang out with my guildies, and talk about "OMG LIEK THE OLD MAN NO SHOWZ" that will be spammed everywhere, probably agreeing in some parts, and disagreeing with others.
I don't see this as good, bad, or whatever, its a game, if you stress over $15 a month, and it not going the way you want, you shouldn't be forking over $15 a month anyway, and should spend it on a good stress management program through your local counseling services.
Either way, its still a game, it still has qualities THATI MYSELF enjoy.

Hologrinders decided that grinding towards jedi was part of their saga.. great I have nothing against them. Even though I've had to clean more than 150 people off my friends list, most of whom quit because they felt a great disturbance in the server community caused by the grinding and hologreed.. I still have nothing against hologrinders. Then not being about to buy oreat a reasonable price because the demand for bulk ore and gemstone grew,and people wouldsend me nasty tells/emails because I couldn't keep my structure vendor stocked, or asking me why my prices were so high... nah no resentment towards the hologrinders flushing millions of resources down the practice toilet. I watched two of my guilds be torn apart by the hologrind and hologreed.. but that's ok.
I do resent the fact that the people who made this game better forothers have gotten the wrong endof the stick. Inever heardanyone ingame say, "I'm going to renew my subscription because I love to watch the hologrind, the afk macroers, the guys who are paying 5 million credits for holos and then selling them on ebay for $125." Yeah that was a long time ago, but the echos still span patches, and time. We slowly recovered from the hologrind, and today completely regressed.
The people who are responsible for my continued patronage of this game should be the first to walk into Aurilia, not the ones who gave nothing to the community during their grind, and made you lose a lot business in the process.

actually dedicated players got the shaft...all for playing the game...and grinders mostly afkers for cheating the system get the glory.....thank you /finger
Chill, you didnt however grind to play a jedi...and not all grinders cheated anything and are dedicated players they just started the game wanting a jedi so they started....
I have done all those things and ground out 32 proffessions and shoudl be rewarded for that cause I was going for a jedi. Plus they had to come up with some sorta of solution to the vast number of players wanting in.
I think it is fair...its based of intent to play a jedi, and a bit of luck...

i now know what the "G" stand for in justG
it stand for g-string, as in when i set on my butt and pretend to work on the game all im wearing is just a g-string.
things make since now, the reason hes been doing so poorly for all of us is that string is riding up too high..
as for this new gating thing, you can take it and ball it up into a nice tight little ball and put it about 12 inches past the string.

my only complaint is the groups. i figured there would need to be some way to not have everyone in the village at the same time. but are you saying that not only will it take 4 months to complete the phases.. for us non hologrinders..but we have to also add in the weeks it will take for our "group" to get a turn? or am i misunderstanding it

The rules, as PUBLISHED, apparently have changed again with no notice or discussion.
I quote from the Jedi ARCHIVES Vol. 3:
If I complete the Force Sensitive quests after publish 10 and open up my Jedi slot, will my main slot or my second slot be Force Sensitive?
After Publish 10, "Trials of the Jedi", a player's Main Slot will become Force Sensitive. At this point, a second character slot will open up. You may choose to develop your main character as a Jedi Knight or you may use your second character slot to develop as a Jedi Knight (thus being able to leave your main character in tact), but you will have to complete the quests from the beginning with the second character.
After Publish 10, "Trials of the Jedi", a player's Main Slot will become Force Sensitive. At this point, a second character slot will open up. You may choose to develop your main character as a Jedi Knight or you may use your second character slot to develop as a Jedi Knight (thus being able to leave your main character in tact), but you will have to complete the quests from the beginning with the second character.
Now we get from TH:
When you become Padawan, you will be given your Jedi robe and your additional character slot will open up. This character can be used in any way you see fit, including developing him into another Jedi.
There is a MAJOR CHANGE HERE. I do not want my main character to become a Jedi. I just want to open the slot and run the new guy through the trails again. My main character has over a YEAR of development behind him. When the rest of the holo-grinders were basically doing everything possible to kill this game I was developing communities of people to have a strong playerbase on Tempest. Are you now telling me I can only have a second slot IF I destroy everything my crafter is and become a Padawan?

What the devs need to do is make a small apology to the players of this game. Not for any one thing, but for all the various slights and backstabs you have done to the people who pay for your jobs with this game.
1. You dangle the carrot in our faces with the profession grinding system. Increasing the difficulty because you let your default number of people unlock. Extremely unfair, without a warning to those who kept pushing for that 1 more profession, and downright dishonest a thing to do. You are the atypical mobster who forces someone to work for you and do "just one more little job". You are pathetic for this.
2. You post all over our galaxy boards telling us to come test out TC2 where the village will be on live for us. Then you turn around and include a hardcap on who is allowed to go on to work toward jedi. I recall once, a long time ago. When you guys swore you would never create any sort of cap on people getting jedi. Just what do you think this is? Is this game dying so badly you feel the need to force these types of time sinks into the game in order to keep the fee's coming in? Is it a sick twisted pleasure to toy with a community of people who haven't even been able to unlock for the past few months because you decide to fix something YOU broke with the profession grind destroying the game?
3. Worst of all. You did not warn the players about the backstabbing you would do today. You led everyone on to believe today would be the day that those who unlocked during publish 9 would get to start their path. You foul mouthed liars. Even a 24 hour notice would have been acceptable, than raising the hopes of all the players and especially those who took a day off work/school in order to do something they worked so very hard for.
These are just things that have been revealed in the past day...do you really want us start digging up all the monstrous things you have done to us in the past year for everyone to view? Something you dont seem to understand. You're jobs are to make this game fun and rewarding to us. You're jobs are not to lie to us, steal from us, cheat us, treat us like fools, forget about us, step on us, ignore us, or give us false hope. Do you hate your fan base so much that you think you shouldn't inform us when something like this happens? Are we only $$$ to you? Pull your heads out of you-know-where and talk to the people dammit!
