At least make it so you loose an entire tree.
I'd be ok with a branch.
But just one skill box?
Look at the Knight or Master tree, then come back and say "just one skill box"
A few things...............
Permadeath: A good idea, but unfeaseable seeing as how once someone opens the FS slot then dies 3 times, the more likley it is they will cancel thier account in disgust. So I see SOE removing the permadeath as a means of keeping clientlle. Will it unbalance things? Probably. It depends on how its done.
Only Luke, Leia, Yoda, Vader and the Emperor are Force Sensitive: NOT TRUE. In the Zhan triliogy of books, which has been declared the continuation of the story, there is Mara Jade (The Emperors Hand), Jorus and later his clone, Jorruus C'Aboth the Dark Jedi and keeper of the Emperors clone labs. These dark jedi were kept hidden from the eyes of the Light Side. At the time of the origional trilogy release, it was just the origional characters. However, even then the story hints of those who are force SENSITIVE. Not Jedi. Hell not even a Padwan. It implies some people are stronger with The Force than others. With the proper training, those can become Jedi. Hence the idea behind Kevin J Anderson's "Jedi Academy" books. (It was Anderson wasent it?) So in theory, anyone in touch with the Force can try to be trained by a master if they have the right stuff.
Holocrons: What in the BLUE HELL were the devs thinking here??? People dont become jedi by listining to a metal ice cube tell them to become a architect! Then open another one to have it tell them to be a Smuggler! Thats, to put it bluntly, DUMB! Holocrons were ancient jedi knowldge/image storage devices. They would never say "To become a Jedi you must drop everything you know and learn how to cut wookie hair and make over Twi'leks appearances!" The holocron is a rare, sacred artifact that holds jedi knowldge. It should be the end part of a journey. It should be the thing that teaches the character. Not be a bloody career councilor! STOP THE HOLOGRINDING MADNESS!!!!!
Bounty Hunters: Oh yes my little Jedi friends. I am nearing master BH on Scylla. I plan on hunting MANY jedi. Why? THATS MY JOB! BH missions are way beyond the Galactic Civil War. WE dont care if your rebellion, Imperial, neutral, Dark or Light Jedi. If we got told to kill you, better be ready to have some of that fancy lightning you guys like to throw around fired right back at you with our Light Lightning Cannons. We will come in packs for you. We will drop you like rocks. Because its all about the money and the glory that is the life of a Bounty Hunter. No permadeath? GOOD! More money and exp for us. ![]()
Im sure most BH's feel that way. So let there be Jedi. Let them come. BH's will just have that many more targets. So dont be mad fellow BH's. Let people play Jedi. We will just have to make life interesting for them.
Now heres where I turn two faced tho. Now that I know permadeath is gone, I may just get another account to try out Jedi's. Could be fun. Or totally suck. We shall see.

Before today I never thought that the DEVs had their heads up their behinds, and I actually used to think they had a clue.
After this I finally agree with the majority, that the DEV Team has no connection with anything close to common sense, and that they are a bunch of fat balding mid life crisis stuffed suits who have no concern or affection for the Star Wars universe.

Then you suggest they keep holo-grinding in the game, and let it continue to destroy any sort of community we once had? Wow, that's brilliant.
I'm all for changing the process to unlock the FSCS. "Holo grinding" hasa very detrimental effect on the game.
But this new lame "skill loss" system doesn't sound like anything that will keep the jedi "rare". It will be like grinding to level 65 in Everquest and then you're in the raiding game. How fun? Not. Just pathetic. Welcome to Star Wars Galaxies, where EVERYONE gets to be a jedi.
Horrible. Absolutly Horrible. This only makes Jedis more common. Why not instead actually make them ULTRA POWERFULL like originally intended and have permadeath. Instead now they are an OK class with slight penalties upon death. Once again. HORRIBLE IDEA DEVS.
Really HALFED ARSED ON YOUR PARTS!!!

If this patch goes through, it stays that way.
Thanks for the laughs.
"Are you sure about that? I'm not so sure...you may loose some PowerGamers but you will certainly not shake a majority of casual gamers that was not doing the Hologrind."
You took this opportunity to bash "powergamers" but you completely missed the point. I'm a casual gamer and I am holo grinding. My friends are casual gamers and they are holo grinding. It's not just "powergamers" who want to become Jedi. And the persons point is valid - ifpeople (casual and hardcore gamers alike) lose all the work they've put into trying to unlock the FS Sony will be losing a lot of customers (hardcore AND casual)- me included.
