errrm this is all nice and dandy....but when are you going to give jedi some defenses and fix the insane sabre decay?

Has anyone considered that the grinding may still be necessary to unlock the force sensitive slot?


They are only saying that they are going to make it a MORE quest based system...

For example:

missionone - go kill some dude...

mission two - escort

mission two - go kill someone else..

blah blah blah...

when missions are complete the final NPC may just simply say.. hey you should master tailor...


Not saying this would be good or bad, just that we dont know exactly what the changes will be. So lets all just calm down till we get some clarification (prolly on monday... in march)


...and yes im working on my silent prof too.. just like EVERYBODY else willing to take the time to read these forums....

QUESTS WOOT!!


Quest1 - Craft a Ris armor (master armorsmith)

Quest2 - Build a shuttleport (politician)

Quest3 - Kill a Rancor with your bare hands (master TKM or almost)

Quest4 - Go change the boobs of a human female (Image designer)

Quest5- Bring out 3 pets at once (master Creature handler)

I agree with every post saying the obvious: You KNEW the risk of being a jedi. DEAL with it.


Jedi's are rare for a reason. (or SHOULD be rare) They were hunted to extinction, and are STILL hunted, by the dark forces that overrun the galaxy. Jedi SHOULD be careful. Jedi SHOULD be cautious. Hell...if you even WEAR the Title on you I think you should get an Immediate TEF. Harsh? God no...look at the story and recognize.


Every time a jedi walks down the street, her heart SHOULD flutter at the sight of an Imperial or a Bounty Hunter. She's a dying breed of people and its up to her to help restore the light in the galaxy...but it's NOT an easy task. She has no master (in theory) to teach her... she most grow strong on her own nad work hard to accomplish her goal. The path of a Jedi isdangerous.


If anything... FIX Bounty Hunters FIRST. (I could really go off on this one...but i'll save it for the BH forum). Fix/Update the Combat system the way it was proposed ...FIRST.


Quests to become a jedi? I LOVE IT. Its the way it should have been in the first place.


All im saying is ....dont get rid of permadeath

So does this mean I should not proceed with what the Holo has told me to do? Are holo's going to be a thing of the past and Jedi will become Quest oriented 100%? I'm so confused with how to become a Jedi I think it needs to become much clearer on what one needs to do to follow the path to becomming a Jedi.

Yeah right! I would like to see how this is going to get pulled offwith out totally screwing people over that have invested aLOT of time into mastering professions for the express purpose of trying to open the Jedi slot.

The changes sound good regarding the system being quest driven and all. But they better find a very smart solution for all the thousands of folks that have been mastering professions due to the current system thus far.

I have mastered many, many professions, and have only one to go. If I lose one ounce of effort that I have put in to opening my FSCS so far, I am GONE SOE!

OK the holo-grind is a bad idea and it made people just wade thro professions way too quickly,but the problem at he moment is that mastering any one profession is too easy.The master cap should be removed and restructered and make each profession more extensive/interesting and with more skill pts available[taking months to attain the highest lvl rather than days,have Grandmaster for example],this would make peeps wanna stick to their chosen path [CH or Fencer whateva],this may sound a lil EQ but hey it works[becoming a 65 in EQ takes mnths /without twinkage and pl,and only allowing 1 char /server is perfect] rather than people gettin bored /w their class after achieving master in 3 or 4 days and and start wishing they were a jedi ....

Ok i just want to say that all the people responding YAY NO HOLOS!!!! YAY are the ones that didnt like holos but there are people that like the holo idea. like me. whatever you change it to half the people are gonna like it half the people are gonna hate it you should have just kept it the way it was. because this is really wierd and easier i hear why would you make it easier so there are more jedi's? i read lots of posts from the devs that say we dont want a lot of jedis so why would it be made easier and the permadeath thing should stay

Some commends:

1st) I like the proposed changes on the way how to become a Jedi. I never thought profession grinding was a particularily goot choice.

2nd) I am not so sure about the permadeath solution. To be a Jedi needs to be hard, otherwise a Jedi will not be anything special any more. Now it really depends an how severe the penalty for a Jedi death becomes. In a way the old system is only a special case of the old system. Instead of loosing all skills, the Jedi will only lose part of his skills.

Having said that, it seems that the penalty is too harsh right now, especially considering bounty hunter missions. Just be carefull not to make the penalty too easy to shrug off. I would absolutly hate to see Jedi raiding cities. Sure, a Jedi is a PvP char, but a Jedi should need to be very carefull, when and where to do PvP. Too small a penalty could break the game beyond repair...

EVERYONE knew about permadeath before they became Jedis. That was part of the deal.


At least make it so you loose an entire tree.
