Thread: Live Issues Publish 9: Secrets of the Force
I've heard it said here many times that Test Center players were ignored when indicating problems with a patch. Yet they continue to ask for MORE people to test?? So they can ignore them too??

well i have read all of yalls complaints about publish 9 but ut is know ones fault but yours...the gave us all the chance to log on to the test center and play for the sole reason of finding bugs...so in my eyes if you did not go to the test center and try it then stop whinning...every time i went to the test i got ambushed by a bounch of jedi that did not care about testing the game...so i stopped going...well later and have fun...
I'm sorry to hear that people were griefing you on TC2.It's not at all like that on TC usually. The *regulars there are very respectful of one another that I've seen.
As far as "fault" goes, there were more than enough people testing. That wasn't the problem.
I can't help but notice that the complaints in this thread are the same ones the TESTERS complained about over and over again before it was pubished, and were IGNORED. I personally don't understand the purpose of a test server if the pertinent information and opinion given by those testersis ignored and rendered useless.
If anyone on Live doesn't believe this --simply go and read those threads...
- For some reason Launchpad now automatically does a rather time-consuming and annoying full scan everytime I launch it. I play multiple characters and this is driving me batty. The scan also has the side effect of pegging my processor while it happens. Is this intended or is there a known way to tell it to stop?
- Jedi conversion: used 56 of the 62 points I had available for force discipline skills. The six remaining points poofed, these points are supposed to be the reward for 2 800k boxes in the padawan tree that took forever to grind. Why should 1.6 million in jedi xp go unrewarded in this new system?
First off, make sure everyone is warned about this, including the players who don't frequent the forums. People aren't taking notice of what publish 9 does, because its about Jedi. A lot of us think the abundance of Jedi people is a little stupid, and not needed.
Second, make it less stupid. Just pairing up the identical items with a single penalty would do...arm both bracers at once, and both biceps (on Composite). Right now, equipping armour just looks stupid. Instead of a suit of armour magically appearing, little chunks of armour are magically appearing. It'd be alright if the delay was just combat. But right now, I'm having to run around waiting for my armour to equip itself before I can do anything.
Third, make some more action emotes. If we're gonna have to wait around while armour equips, then at least give us some more things to do while it applies itself. Standing around for 30 seconds is stupid.
I 100% agree except for the part I highlighted.

....really.
Can we get a non-BH Publish 9 thread going? I mean seriously people. I sat here for 25 minutes of my lunch break and read the same thing 300 times. There was unique thought on occasion. I must of missed something... Was Publish 9 mis-titled to Secrets of the Force. Cause going from the arguments here it appears it was supposed to be titled Publish 9: Fix Every Problem BHs Ever Had
This publish was one of the most longest awaited publishes. Every person that played knew it was in the future, every person knew it was going to happen, and every person submitted thoughts and suggestions. The fact that we have come to this point of a Jedi revamp and we are complaining about all the non-jedi stuff they didn't fix just boggles my mind.
Agreed there are a few things wrong with the Jedi system still, as every system. But this was solely designed as a Jedi Publish. They rewrote the entire system, give them some credit they did an entire reworking of a system in the time they do a standard bug fix publish.
I found this thread entertaining, but found little to no information useful.

Devs are killing what can be a great game, no doubt.
Lets summarize shall we?
Vendor Interface = fooked
PvP = fooked
PvE = fooked
Awards = fooked - yes I know we get them tomorrow, biut the point is they couldn't get it right.
Ubese armor shirts and belts = fooked
Fake jedi in starports = fooked - how does this enhance the Star Warsy feel? Is this a joke...I'm sure we could find Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan, and Mace Windu suckin a slurpee at the 7-11 next right?
BH = fooked since launch
Politician = fooked since their debut
Vehicle repair = fooked since their debut
Smuggler = fooked since launch
It defies explanation why these things that are important to the game, have been ignored, and useles stuff gets added.
Do you recall the "special" offer to players who left? Wonder why they would need to do that in the first place? Maybe because it alarmed them how many people left? But they don't learn...they never learn...because they are adults, in a position of power...beyond reproach...and think that they know everything there is to know about this abortion they have created. Worse yet, they think they know what we want.

I am a Pistoleer.
I ran missions on Dantooine last night. (6-29-04)
2 of my missions did not pay any reward. This bug repeats every time I run missions there.
To repeat this bug, group with any number of people and run missions on Dantooine.
This bug is related to Publish 9, 8, and 7.
Bug reports have been filed. There has been NO RESPONSE.

I run Missions On Dantooine in a Solo Group yesterday, and 100% of my Missions Paided. Your problem is that you are doing your missions in a Very High Populated Area. More likely Mining outpost where you get your Solo Group.
Try this, Group with a Solo Group, and go to another town on the Far Side of the planet. Or go to another planet all together to get your missions. I normally hunt 8km away from Mining outpost.
