Well in my opinion Humans only should wear the armor, and the certifcations for this armor should be Master Bounty Hunter and Master Commando. Why do I think this Well there has never been a zebrak mandalorian, nor a wookiee, or any other race in the star wars world. And for the profeshions the mandalorians that did survive the jedi's attempt at well how should I put it geoniced of the mandalor's They where all skilled in many weapions carbines, rifles, pistols, flamers, heavy weapions and the few that did survive the jedi's assult became Mercanaries for hire or renouned bounty hunters. And those who say well jango was the only one that is not true, how do you think he got the offer to be the subject for the clone army? Jango got the job to kill a rouge dark jedi she was a thorn in the Emperiors side and he wanted her eliminated, Well Jango was not the only Mandalorian bounty hunter after this mark, a mandalorian "cannot remember his name at this time its been awhile" Jango killed this other vile mandalorian that violated the mandalor's code. Jango yes he was a feared bounty hunter but he held a sort of honor of his people. After that event Jango finally found the dark jedi slaying her in hand to hand combat since none of his weapions would work against her.The man who put out the price for the mark said he would pay jango but gave him an offer he could not refuse, the markJango was chasing was actually a test for the clone army. Jango got an unbelievable amount of credits for being used as a clone and over watching the clones training that was all modeled after the same training of the mandalorian warriors, Well there is your history lession of some star wars history.

So what do you all think? I strongly feel only humans and the master profeshions of bounty hunter and commando should have this armor.

and i would also like to see it rare... kinda ruins it when you see every one walking around with mandalorian armor when in the movies only bounty hunters (exceptionally talented too) could get it... uh.... thats it?...

Putting massive amounts of Mandalorian Armor in this game is about as sad as having Jedi in this game.

Neither fit or mesh with this timeline relating to canon or the Expanded Universe, so why even bother?

Oh yeah, b/c you have all the lamers who are like "OMG I MUST HAVE TEH JETI!" or "OMG BOBA FETT IS TEH WIN!" who whine and cry b/c they can't be the best or the rarest thing in Star Wars.

I'd say rename it and remodel it so it is similar to Boba Fetts armor, but make a few minor changes so it's physical appearance isn't exactly the same. I.E. the Visor styling, etc.

My go on all this......

I think you should go through the dungeon with your group and your group only like the corvette dungeon. You guys get a key to an armor room or sumthin where befor you enter is a very large and hard creature......inside spawns as many suits of armor is needed for you/your group. An you can only get armor once, but you can do the HARD dungeon as many times as you want.....

Mandalorians were MERCENARIES not Bounty Hunters. With such a stupid argument as "'cause 1337 boba/jango fett had it so only MBH should have it" I could say only Carbineers should be able to use Mandalorian Armour because they have the Mercenary title. I could also say since Han Solo used a DL44 that only Smugglers should be able to use them. But those are all stupid arguments.

I want to bring up the fact that Jango Fett would have never been a Master Bounty Hunter, maybe a Master Pistoleer / Bounty Hunter 4/0/4/0, but not a Master Bounty Hunter. Read the Jango Fett comic (I think it's in graphic novel form, even better )

Here's what I think Mandalorian Armour should be like

1. Mandalorians Armour should only be able to be worn by masters of any combat professions (Smugglers? combat profession? yes, no?). Just so we don't have novice marksmen running about in uber armour (composite armour......).

2. It should have to be made to fit a certain character, that character should be the only one that can wear that armour.

3. It should not be repairable by anyone but a Master Armoursmith, it's suppose to be very high end armour and I could never see a average "joe" repairing such a master piece of protection with a kit he got from the corner store. Maybe even have a special repair kit made for it that's very hard to make.

4. Each suit should be unique just as the real Mandalorian Armor was, say 30 different colours available, 3 colours on each set of armour that would be
50^3= 125000
125000 - 1 = 124999 combinations
(We can't have a Boba Fett clone can we , lol oxymoron, Boba Fett is a clone )

This would also help avoid the current "My 1337 uber comp armour of DoOm is red/black" situation (come on people, be original!).

5. High resist against Lightsabers, see one of the above posts about Vader and Boba.

That's about it... might add more.

Wooo Hooo!! Finally!!!! But 1 thing ... let's say it does drop quite often, or there is a way to get the armor very easlily, I think it should be worn by Bounty Hunters only. Good idea? Kinda like factional armor. Hehe looks like I'll be going back to BH..

My take (I am MBH). Give it to all COMBAT Master Professions -- HOWEVER...Make it a cert at master (see previous sentence) AND..make it look like it did in the movie for only MBH and have different styles of the mand. armor for each master elite profession (so we don't have the composite clone thing going on again)..just a thought

Don't make it available to anyone. Just as names can not mimic those of the movies (and the work arounds removed when reported), we shouldn't see anyone else in Mandalorian except Fett. Put new armor in if you want, but not this. Continuity being screwed as it is isn't an excuse to send it careening farther down into the pit by putting every BH into the armor.

Making it uber rare/hard/cert'd to get just ticks people off and gets them crying "elitism" because they can't fall back on a large group of people that will guarantee them being able to get the armor.

Nope, leave it out of the game completly except, maybe, as a display set that can be put in a house....

Boba Fett was known as a jedi killer?? Didn't ever hear of that before now... but I'm not all knowing either. I got an idea while posting on another topic for a way to get mandolorian armor that people might like more than killing Death watch guys and looting it...

How about instead of killing Death Watch Mandolorians... you join them? So instead of killing them and stealing it, you earn it through a long series of quests proving your skill, loyalty etc and eventually earning full membership which is ultamately rewarded with a suit of the armor.

These quests should defintely be really really hard, and there should be a long series of them too. Like missions assigned from the Death Watch to go kill certain high difficulty targets. Really hard enemies that you usually can't solo, like dathamir arch witches... also throw in several missions that include some good trivia too so there's a feeling of a story and actually becoming part of the death watch. Maybe death watch faction could be a part of the requirements.

Eventually after a long long road of rising through the ranks about to get full membership, one of the last requirements is you have to kill a player jedi (this would obviously only make sense if player jedi were fixed and somewhat comparable to all the NPC force users out there). Killing a player jedi that was actually tough would be a good accomplishment, because its unique from killing NPC enemies and should be alot tougher. Assuming player jedi had the same effectiveness as NPC jedi, players would be harder to kill because they have the advantage of being able to think and respond, group and run away. I know at the moment it isn't, but ideally, killing a player jedi SHOULD be the hardest thing to do in the game. Sothen after killing the player jedi, the death watch could reward you with a peice of mandolorian armor, or maybe a few peices. The game should have a counter, and a standard order for giving them out, so after you kill a set number of jedi, say 3 or 4, you would finally have the full suit, and you'd be a full fledged member of the Death Watch. This quest shouldn't be repeatable, so that way you can't sell your armor and ever be able to get another one. Since you can only ever get one suit, the max condition probably shouldn't ever get reduced no matter how many times you repair it. So the armor can get damaged and degraded, but you can always get it repaired back up to full.

This should statisfy people's image about the armor right? Any among the most elite fighters could attempt membership, (lots of people said mandolorians weren't just BH) but only the best, and probably still needing alot of help from friends could hope to complete the quest for membership. (Face it, if you can finish a quest solo its too easy and everyone can do it). So that should keep the number of people who have it lower, but still allow the very determined to work toward it.

If anyone can think of a reason why this idea wouldn't work, please post. (Remember, its dependant on player jedi being fixed so that they're on par with the NPC dark jedi apprentices, knights, masters etc..)

my own personal opinion would be to certify different armor peices at different levels of the bounty tree, with the helmet being at the top, perhaps gloves first...biceps second, bracers third, boots fourth, leggings 6th, and chestpeice 7th somewhere in the tree. doesnt really matter where, perhaps under the investigation line

just seems to me that it should either be completely useless to people in the game that are not bounty hunters (ie the protections dont work unless you are certified) or shouldnt be wearable at all if you are not certified. i dont care who wore the crap in the story, noone here thinks of mandalorian armor and does not immediately associate it with bounty hunters...most peoples knowledge of the SWU is limited to maybe 1 or 2 popular books, and the movies.

im an up and coming master bounty hunter. im finally giving up on the mess you [SOE] created with hologrinding and moving into what i always planned on being. ive done up to investigation 3 and i did it the way it was intended to be done. for the love of god dont change how investigation xp is gained again...its too easy as it is. anyone that complains about it just isnt cut out for the line of work, and should be looking at other professions.

let crafters make mandalorian armor...sure....why not, doesnt hurt me. just keep it off the backs of the fencers, combat medics, and rifleman, at least partially. make schematics for each peice, and make them attainable through a series of quests. same order i listed above for armor certification. i wouldnt mind working with an armorsmith to make a good set of mandalorian...

if its going to be quest or dungeon based though, it needs to be an instance dungeon...im damned sick of having to camp in the akuuan cave to compete with monkeys who dont care about anything other than getting a ring and selling it for 800k. the only way to get one legitamately is to go camp the spawn until you get one...and hope a rifleman doesnt come in and try and push you out.

really really angers me to see someone standing in front of a starport shouting "SELLING AAKUUAN RINGS FOR 800K. PST WITH OFFER!!! ONLY 4 LEFT!!!"

i know the focus at the moment is the jedi system, and the combat system overall, and a few new frills to keep us all interested. i think testing the space expansion just began as well, but a lot needs to occur in this game to ensure that more people stay around for more time and do not leave for other games while they wait in the shadows hoping this game gets fixed at some point.

dont get me wrong, this game has come a long way since day 1...err day 2...since we couldnt play on day 1

as a guild and city leader, i have seen a lot of people come and go...a LOT of people. i lost a lot of longtime friends that i gamed with to games like DAOC...im sure one day they will return...but they wont make it back into my gaming group ever again...the people who are being patient with your changes and growth are the ones that will reap the benefits i hope.
