I think the fact that Doctors have an 80k xp cap is seriously unfair. I have to max out (only able to do 11 buffs to do so meaning I have to close my line every eleven people, my customers are totally unhappy) Then fly to dath and drive 5000m to the village to convert that 80k into 8k force sensitive. I have to do this 22 times to complete the first box of my branch alone.
Meanwhile combat professions need only cap out their xp which is 900k which they can then convert for 30-1 ratio for 30k force sensitive xp and at the same time they are getting combat xp which converts at 3-1 and caps at 300k for another 100k xp.A handful oftrips to the village and a few times capping and they're done while I have to make a hundred trips back and forth to do the same thing.
Not only that, but my xp is totally reliant on other players while theirs is roaming everywhere around the countryside. Anywhere they go they get xp while I have to hope my xp comes and finds me. All your doing is inspiring medics to set up warcry/heal macros at the village and not heal anyone. Remind me again how this is an improvement. So after 44 starship trips, 110,000+ m of travel across Dathomir and over 350 buffs Im still only done with box one. If the xp cap for doctor was raised it would make all the diff in the world. Im not saying buffing is hard work, but we all know there are plenty of ways to max your combat xp (grenades) or profession specific (such as heavy weapons) in less than a day.
Either raise the cap or (and I dont think this second way is a good solution by any means) make the conversion rate more equal). Raising the cap is vital to maintaining a fair and level playing field in the jedi quests.

I have had both enjoyment and a little frustration with the new system. I have been reading the forums at length regarding Pub 10 for the past week and a half. I enjoyed the whole intro quest. It made it feel like I was starting a "new" life of sorts in the game. I went to the village, and found out that I had 3 unlocks with only 11 profs (I was on my silent, and made a lucky guess I believe). I trained the 3 unlocks, did a quest to unlock a fourth, then started to grind.
After calculating the amount of XP needed to complete my other12 boxes,I started to get a little frustrated, and I asked myself, "Do I really want this? And why?". Well I wanted it and felt that I could chalk up the achievement when I finished and finally made it to Padawan. And why.....Well, I guess childhood dreams of being Jedi (26yrs ago lol). Sometimes boyhood fantasies creep up every once in ahwile.
I think there is one thing that would make a lot of people happy, and that is the ability to convert XP from anywhere. Put a penalty on the conversion...let's say 5-10%. I read that idea somewhere else in the forums. It would be a convenience item for us.
AS TO THE GRIND....don't change it. Hopefully it will keep the Jedi population low, and make the achievement more sweet after it comes. Come on..realistically everyone...do you really want to get Jedi just to realize that everyone else is a Jedi....?

How encouraging. I though I was hopelessly lost as a Tailor. Takes me what, 51 'trips' to Aurilia to master a tree in the crafting skills? And it takes less than 2 hours to casually max out the Tailoring XP at 120k? Exchange rate of 5:1. I'm sorry, but I'm not complaining. Jedi is a goal, not a reward for buying the game.
AP still has a purpose. It's called Apprenticeship Points for a reason. You must teach in order to Master your profession. It gives new players a resource for tips and tricks of their chosen profession. It forces everyone to interact with at least 1 other player in this MMORPG world.
The game is not ruined by the new system... it's greatly enhanced. Ever sit in a tent in the Village and listen to the screams of the wounded villagers in triage? This system is TONS better than the old system. You don't have to sacrifice a profession you truly love in order to attain the goal of Jedi. You simply must be a well-rounded gamer. Bravo, Devs.

Thanks for writing this Warryyr, it appliesto pure crafters as well. If we want to unlock the Surveying tree, we apprently need to become a Master Medic. So for me to get all the branches I want, the 4 crafting and 1 senses, I will be forced to drop one of my current professions to grind medic out to do it.

I have to agree here, too. I'm a master scout, master creature handler and master bio-engineer. What am I supposed to do this phase? I have eighteen skill points left over, so I can't get master medic to train in the tree toward which most of my experience goes. If I want the survival branch of enhanced reflexes, I have to buy it withweapons xp. I can get novice brawler or marksman and one skill box. So I can collect weapons xp 10,000 ata time. Not quite enough to get the millions reqired in three weeks. So, I'm a master scout who can't get the branch with all the scouting bonuses. Who the hell had this brilliant notion? I wound up doing a quest just to get the "quest reward"--you know, the one you get for doing the quest a second time.

I got the visit from the old man, killed the siths, looted them, got to the village...talked to paemos and never got any opportunity of getting my 6 free branches!
let me state itagain after multiple shallow answers from csr tickets: I NEVER GOT ANY FREE FS BRANCH WHEN PROMISED OTHERWISE.
there's a missing option when it comes to talking to paemos. there's no way I can bypass it, I am not granted any free branches and I am not alone with this problem since a lot of people are complaining about them on the forums. I have screenshots of every profession I mastered from the beginning, from every phases with the old man, siths, paemos...I have proofs that the system fails when it comes to my character.
from article #soe10202, one can read that : "We [soe]have received no cases where characters are not receiving their correct allotment of force sensitive skills." admitting publicly that they don't take account of my tickets and tickets of dozen of others facing the same problem...that's without mentionning all the people who have cancelled their subscription out of rage and deceit.
and when I get and answer to ticketsasking for direct assistance, I get something in thevein of:
"hello, this is csr "xxx". Thank you for contacting Star Wars Galaxies in game support. I do apologize with the difficulties with this issue, I can assure you that this system is not bugged ans is working as intended. Unfortunately, in game support will be unable to provide you with any direct assistance with this issue, nor are we able to provide you a developper to speak with regarding this issue.
If you wish to voice your concern for this issue, you may do so by posting on the development forums or by submitting a feedback form on the website. I understand the frustration and the inconvenienceof this issue and I sincerly apologize. Should you need assistance with any other issue in game, please feel free to contact us again. great way to avoid me SOE and other players in needs, but make sure you don't avoid Better Business Bureau when they'll send you my grief for a lack of customer service and a failure to fullfill your engagement for rewardingall the tasks that have have been succesfully encountered and fullfilled on my part.

I"m trying to find out what the fs exp cap is..I was told 1.25 million but i"m at 1.26million.

C'mon guys I know a spell checker doesn't pick it up, but when you convert FS xp it's not "You loose 12000 General Crafting experience" it should be"You lose 12000 General Crafting experience"

Devs Please Read This
Ok it's safe to say this game is going down the drain. I never saw so little people on eclipse server on Friday night, and the little that is online are just grinding for xp. This phase'sare crap and u know it. All the people I know all ready got enough fs xp for the next phase. And this phases making them just numb, going about this game world without nothing to do. And u know why? Because of you, you made us do all the quests badges well every thing in order to get FS (glowing). Now that we are, there is nothing else to do except grind. Do you think this is sane or fun? Well I don't think so while we wait for the next phase there are tons of people doing absolutely nothing. What do we need to do in the mean time cancel our accounts and join again with the next phase up? This is nuts DEVS you must fix this you absolutely MUST.

no Dev may see or hear this or give a rip, but I have never posted on this certain Forum for "In Live", but boy now I have a reason to. I completed 2 holocrons before the publish 10 took place. I got my old man visit, the sith attack and the wp to the village. I didnt know who to talk to first about gettin my credit for the holos. Well now I completed a quest for the medical side of the phase 1 quests, and it has been told to me that the credit should have been given by a certain guy who transfers xp to force xp. I now realize that I had see na "CREDIT" tab in his chat box, but thought it was transfering credits (money) to force xp (yes, I know, I am a moron), now the option is gone, and I did not get credit for the holos. I know I didnt do things in the right order, but I earned the credit for the holos. I feel I have been cheated now the option is gone to give me credit. If any dev sees this, and has compassion for me, please help, lol. I have never been more disappointed in this game as I dont know if retrieving the credit is ruined, or if I have to wait until the next phase. If anyone knows the answer please contact me. My starsider server character name is Aliyah. THanks.
