Recently I went to the village. Once there I spoke with the village elder, chose the combat prowess path, and went to talk to the captain. I ran 10 patrol missions for him and received no unlock message, nor a reward of experience. I talked to the NPC that allows you to trade in XP for FS XP and used my rifle XP and combat XP to purchase the Novice Combat Prowess box. As any of you know that have looked at the FS boxes, they are expensive. Needless to say, this left me without much else to do but run more missions in hopes of getting more XP. I ran the extra 10 patrols for the captain, and not only DIDN'T receive more XP, but also DIDN'T receive a banner.

I've submitted /bugs and evena customer service ticket on this issue, but was told that CSR's may not disclose anything about progression in the FS system. I don't really want disclosure, I just want my rewards for the quests.

Please post any help or similar experiences you might have.

Thanks,

Mourn

no Dev may see or hear this or give a rip, but I have never posted on this certain Forum for "In Live", but boy now I have a reason to. I completed 2 holocrons before the publish 10 took place. I got my old man visit, the sith attack and the wp to the village. I didnt know who to talk to first about gettin my credit for the holos. Well now I completed a quest for the medical side of the phase 1 quests, and it has been told to me that the credit should have been given by a certain guy who transfers xp to force xp. I now realize that I had see na "CREDIT" tab in his chat box, but thought it was transfering credits (money) to force xp (yes, I know, I am a moron), now the option is gone, and I did not get credit for the holos. I know I didnt do things in the right order, but I earned the credit for the holos. I feel I have been cheated now the option is gone to give me credit. If any dev sees this, and has compassion for me, please help, lol. I have never been more disappointed in this game as I dont know if retrieving the credit is ruined, or if I have to wait until the next phase. If anyone knows the answer please contact me. My starsider server character name is Aliyah. THanks.

According to this post by Thunderheart, if you mastered 2 holo professions, you were afforded no credit. You have missed nothing. There was nothing to miss:

If you have: The credit you will receive is…
No professions remaining: 6 Force Sensitive branches will be granted
1 profession remaining: 5 Force Sensitive branches will be granted
2 professions remaining: 4 Force Sensitive branches will be granted
3 professions remaining: 3 Force Sensitive branches will be granted
4 professions remaining: 2 Force Sensitive branches will be granted
5 professions remaining: 1 Force Sensitive branch will be granted

Since the Holocron System was changed, stealthily, in mid-stream, there were 4 known professions and 4 silent professions (4+4) required to unlock your jedi in the old system. Since you mastered two, 8-2=6 professions remaining, thus no credit for holoprofessions mastered.

I'm sorry to be the bearer of this news, but it is what it is.

I've got to say that I love this new system. Yes, there are plenty of people who are VERY vocal about all the things they DISlike about it, but the fact that we only have to grind on 1 or 2 professions to get our FS XP is brilliant. Yes, it's still a grind, but you're not dropping a profession you love to pick up another, over and over again. I'm a Master Tailor, and have been for about 7 months. I love it. I ground out 11 total professions without dropping Tailor, because I have a huge client base. The fact that I can grind Tailory XP and convert it to FS XP is wonderful.

It would be GREAT if there was a way to earn FS XP through the quests. Even 20-30k XP for finishing a quest would be great. It just seems that some of the quests don't have significant rewards, and ALL other quests in the game give some form of XP. It would also be nice if more of the quests would have "on-going rewards" like the 'healing wounded villagers' quest. The Crafting Quest for Phase I took me about 1.5 hours to gather all the specific resources... then all that was left was grinding for 3 weeks.

I have to agree. I really was hoping for a true quest based system, where the quests would give the advancement. I didn't do any holo-grinding with one of my characters because this is what I was expecting and wanted to enjoy doing the quests. I do like where my old xp was able to be put to good use, but some sort of a combination really is in order. For instance, a phase 1 quest would give you enough FS xp to fill one first tier box, phase 2, a 2nd tier box, etc, with quests getting more and more difficult as the phases progress. Maybe making phase 4 quests really really difficult. Withallowing for normal xp transfers as well, this would let folks grind or not grind, as they chose. Those that grind would of course get there sooner, but those who didn't could expect to get thier 24 boxes filled up in about a year (allowing for some xp transfer). Then folks would fill out the character they like the best and you'd see a healthy stable economy, more RP, and not so much of the 1) frantic xp gringing or 2) 'it's impossible I give up' feelings.

I don't think making the xp conversions more comfortable is the answer. I think the quests giving FS xp is the answer.

I am just a little confused with the new Jedi Trial system. I thought that the reason that the hologrinding method was disposed of was to bypass the grind and go with a quest based system. When I heard about the new changes I was very excited that SOE was adding more content to the game. Boy was I surpised that the new "quest" system is composed of one quest to unlock, another for a useless reward and an INCREASE in grinding. While the sytem may look good to SOE all I have been doing is killing rancors everyday since pub 10 came out. I don't do anything new anymore, Ijust go cap my weapons xp everyday.

I didn't get any free unlocks so how am I supposed to enjoy this game when if I want to gain jedi all I will doing until January (6 phases at 3 weeks each is January) is grinding weapons xp?

How is this adding new content or increasing my level of enjoyment, which is what it should be about since I am paying to play the game? Why should I continue to pay for a game that is fast becoming monotonous and boring?

I definitely think that the path to jedi should be very hard andmysterious, but at this point it is neither. It's just boring. While I know that this message will fall on deaf ears since it is obvious to anyone that SOE just doesn't care what the players want or like but at least I got my rant in.

The only way to get the grind off is simply to make the way to jedi all quest based id rather do months of hard quests to unlock then months of hunting in solo groups. Why couldnt they just make 1000s of quests to unlock the damn thing make them hard make the quests take a long time make each quest have like 2-3 parts that take hrs to do and put them on timerslike 4 days per quest or2 weeks maybe?AND MAKE THEM FUN! <- note FUN soe yes your suposed to have fun in a game. I was allll for this revamp until i started playing it out. I did the boring quests that took no effort got the flag from the extra missions and then started the grind. I dont want to be forced to hunt and hunt and travel and hunt and hunt to turn in xp and get a dinky conversion. Ittakes me along time to hit 900k becauseI like to do other things other then grindI want to enjoy my self with the game not burn my self out on hunting non stop. I say make the whole way hard long quest based and take out the grinding.

Absolutely LOVE the new system. The village on Corbantis is quite barren these days... any chance we could Phase the Village this Tuesday???

Thanks for your attention.
