Thread: Publish 8.2 Feedback: Death Watch Bunker

I think its about time for the Devs to stand by their work. I am really tired of seeing them implement things and then never respond to any comments except for the rareinstance of the odd clarification in which they never seem to touch on any important issues.
This is your work. You are accountable for it. If your afraid of posting and then getting flamed, then grow up. In my workplace I am not afforded the luxury of not being responsible for my actions, and frequently have to answer questions relating to it. That is a part of your job so get used to it. We are your customers, ultimately you are responsible to us.
There is no excuse for the manner in which you handle things. The "ignore it and it will go away" philosophy seldom works in life and this is a fine example of it failing. You have had weeks of feedback from players on the test center and chose to ignore it. Or perhaps you heeded this feedback and are planning for something down the road. The very least you can do is to say, this situation is calibrated for future changes. Your stone faced silence does nothing to reassure the public that you are working in their best interests. Rather you come across as an institution who is being magnanimous and doing us a favor by implementing this devices in the game. Also your silence lends an air of befuddled ignorance to your endeavors. It appears as if you have no idea what is really going on and are genuinely confused by the demands of your customers.
I am beginning to lean towards the true ignorance explanation. I started playing this game 2 days after its US release and subsequently quit in August of 2003 due to the incredibly flawed system that I was forced to pay for. I recently came back and found that nothing had changed. You have not addressed such fundamental issues as missing mission payouts, Creature Warping, the frequent lack of earned experience registering, target tags disallowing late comers to a fight from joining in and "kill stealing" and a host of other issues.
This lateest endeavor you have undertaken has come at the expense of other issues of a much more pressing concern. Throwing eye candy at us is not acceptable. The dev team has had over a year of Live experience to figure out what needs done to improve this game and counter to all information you have received you continue to neglect key issues in favor of Game Box key features such as the Death Watch Bunker and Corvette missions. By refusing to accept the responsibility for your actions and taking the opportunity to address our issues, you choose to hide behind this digital veil and dole out information as if it was a precious commodity.

Personally I don't think the DEVs or SOE care about SWG. Everquest 2 is soon to be released and I beat they are gambling on the fact that many people will drop SWG for EQ2. The last5 publishes (DE1, DE2, ID, vette & DWB) have all been nothing more than window dressings. Major bugs still exist and what they did add has been met with negative comments by the majority of the community.
- The first droid engineer publish nerfed droids more than it made them useful
- The second droid engineer publish gave us a bunch of useless modules that very few people use
- The image designer publish was nice, but it wasmostly eye candy except for nerfing stat migration
- The corvette was nice, but was soon made ridiculious due to the childish nature of the DEVs
- The death watch bunker is viewed as impossible by a majority of players, therefore useless
The upcoming publishes do not seem to hold any promise for reversing this trend. If I operated towards my customers in the same manner the DEVs did, I would have been fired by now. Giving shoty service and ignoring blatant issues is not the proper way to do business.
I have been monitoring the Bunker since it came out...
Day 1 : When I got there no one had gone inside everyone just barelly got there. I started inviting everyone. a Super battle droid came outside. Took over 20 people in my group plus a few others to take it down in over 10 mins!!!!!
A few hours later everyone in my group is fully buffed (These are mostly all guys I seen around my server since relase. If they arent Uber I dont know what is). We go in. We make it to the room that has the Named guy who drops the key. Let me tell you, it was fun the first time. We lost a lot of lives but we made it there. We got the key and went on to the next room. By this time the group had shrunk to like 10 guys. INSTANT death the first battle.
We all Die go back outside and now about 50-80 people are at the bunker - everyone is randomly running in and dragging out SUPER BATTLE DROIDS and the such outside. TOTAL CHAOS. It was kinda Cool but it doesnt seem to be whats is intended.
At one point, one of the biggest GUILDS on my server showed up name: SYN. They did well till they got to the room with the Key guy. THEY HAD OVER 30 guys and they didnt even make it. TAO, another guild came with about 20 guys. Same thing they all got wasted.
I kept monitoring people and it didnt seem like anyone went far at all.
I go to Coro and I see a guy wearing a MANDO HELM. Im thinking I have been at the Bunker since the minute the server has been up - been monitoring the whole freaking place - and here I got a guy who has a HELMET who hasnt even entered the Dungeon.
--------------------------------------
day 2: Half the People there from the first night are not even bothering comming back. Few guys outside and a couple inside managed to find spots where no SBD spawn and farm mobs. No more guilds rolling in. They all got WIPED out. Spent the whole day watching people run in and run right out with a SBD on their ass.
----------------
Day 3: less then 10 people here...
Pathetic guys...
I am not going to monitor thebunker any longer - I have seen but the Worst. All this work you guys put forth for what? We are suppose to be playing the game.
THE DEATH WATCH BUNKER IS EXACTLY THAT - DEAD. No one will go there and its just a waste. Really im sorry it ended up this way but im sure it will be in all of our best interests to make some minor changes and make it a place we can have some fun. Its a Bunker its not a CEMETARY.

I Left EQ to play SWG - what makes you think Im going to Leave SWG to play EQ2. This is a Raw assumtion. I can assure you that many new games are comming and EQ2 is really not that big of a deal. We will see this as time progresses. EQ is old - im suprised they even intend to bring it back to life anymore.

I think you miss read my statement. I said that SOE is beating that people will flock to EQ. Ihated EQ due to the endless grinding and camping. I completely agree with you that EQ2 is not that big a deal, but remember, this is SOE and EQ made them a lot of money.
this bunkers realy did not good ad the lanch (with all the lag)
but now when i go in whit 8 advance players its just to easy ... we alrady made it to the crafting rooms but had no armorsmith whit us tough this bunker need to be more of a challange becose if a gorup of 8 pepole can make it this far then its just to easy.
Haven't gone there yet. Probably won't. I'm no uber gamer, but I do play everday. I have 83% oveall 37% stun armor, I'm a master BH with the rest in Carbineer. I have stun/bleed resist clothing, and 400+ bradee. I can't make it 5 minutes in the corvette. Why should I bother with the DWB. I kinda like the upper portions of the Bio Lab. At least a singe crazy geonosian, or a Droideka is soloable. If they keep spawning, then they become a problem, and I need a group. But one on one, I'm an "elite" character. Or so they tell me. There shouldn't be any NPCs I can't stand toe to toe with. Maybe an even match, but not1 stinking droid that can 1 hit incap me and I can barely scratch. I'll bet the Trade Federation is cursing the devs. Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan would have been long dead if they would have had that kind of technology. No wonder they are extinct. Ironically they are the only ones who can do it. It has been said many times, and it is true. The Jedi system is the biggest curse on this game. Move Jedi to one server and let the rest of us play in peace.
I say make it enjoyable for normal characters. If a few super elites with all their stacks can solo it, so what! Let em get bored and quit. The universe is better without them anyway. I sait it about the corvette, and I'll repeat it here. 15-20K NPC, normal resists, good dodge, continous spawning. Team work and team tactics should be emphasized. Everyone shooting at one creature for 10 minutes does not team tactics make. Again, the dragon mentallity. You don't even include the most basic aspects of fire and maneuver, the ability to be harder to hit while shooting from behind an obsticle. YourNPCs can shoot through anything.I throw my handsup. Maybe I just need to work on myown game ideaand presentit somebody other than sony. I wouldn't rest until I had game of the year. Instead SOE rests on it's laurels. Coaster of the Year 2003. (whipser)btw way devs, that was an insult award you got. Just in case you didn't know.(/whisper)
