Thread: Weekly Rountdable Discussion (Week Ending 1-18-04)
hi, sorry for my english, i am french.
- i have surrende BH because jedi missions are bugged : a useless prof even in pvp he is too weak in defense or not enough strong in attack
- i think dodge, counter attack, block, melee, ranged defensestacking is greatbecause we can make great combo BUT you should reduce this kind of defense on every prof in order to stack 130 max and not 210 for dodge (an example).
- please, i want in the abilities description the formula !!!
- have you something to limit the player ghost town ? more people in the town = less entretien or no people town = destruction !
- i was an artisan, the only craft useful was speeder...
- the faction perks don't enjoy me, give us a FP bonus for killing opposite faction PC (not NPC) and the possibility to trade FP for skill mods bonus even at high cost.
- Where is the Smuggler Overhaul that you mentioned in late SEPTEMBER
- Where is the Chef overhaul that you promess in OCTOBER
- Where are the BH fixes that you claimed would be done by OCTOBER
- Where is the increase of Imperial presence that you discussed in SEPTEMBER
-SWG has nothing to do with STAR WARS *Read Books!*
- SOE *start reading Star Wars books*
- GCW never made any fun
-Bounty Hunters Have nothing to do wth BH from books or even movie
- Jediproff is a joke and buged *Start Reading books*
-SW feeling = 0.01%
-Soe works so long on this game ! and what happend ? nothing !
more and more and more bugs come with every patch .

Otherwise . . . there is no focus, and this is essentially a game of free association.

How many more weeks of this thread must we endure before you need to stop playing for time?
This is the only assumption I can be led to at this point.
Please, the silence is deafening! I never thought I would see the day that Pex would be the most prevalent name on the Dev Tracker!

What discussion? There is no common theme aside from "SW" running in this thread. It's 200 people saying 200 different things, 99% of which got no direct feedback. The Feeback that was recieved was you telling someone to move the post to some other forum.

12 JAN"Please save this for the In Concept thread. I want to make sure its included in the right spot...thanks "
That has been the sum total of your side of this "discussion" on these weekly discussion threads. The Dev tracker isn't picking half of your posts either.
Sorry but I expected a little bit more since we have all consolidated into one place.

Discuss.

Is there anybody there there there there
At least with SWG discussion we could speak with each other in a topic based structure. This is as daft as a Probot.
RhenGordon wrote:Why did I even come back here? OH Yeah I was HOPING something changed. HEY you know what it did! We are up to page 19 now and still no "discussion" from anyone.
Haven't you guys figured this out yet? It is all about server load. Essentially this is how it works. These message boards run on a database, this one is probably MySQL but I could be wrong.. either way the way this board has grown any board that is approaching one million posts is going to before long break the poor mySQL database. It gets worse because not only do you have the different posts to keep track of, you also have the different topics in that forum to track. So this way they limit the number of topics that will be on the server and hopefully drive the player base crazy enough that they will just go away.
Haven't you guys noticed the change in performance since they made this change? Sometimes it took me 5 minutes to get to the Discussion Forum.
Once again instead of making the product better, they just nerf it. This whole thing about generating better communication is just another ploy used to put a good spin on something that is negative and not going to be well received.
Of course TH will come back with something about how "busy" he is, and how "there are so many cool things in the works" and "I really can't say anything more about it!" Blah blah blah, of course we will slurp it up like the good little lemmings that we are. There will always be one fanboi that will be ther first to post "OH COOL TH, WOW I can't wait, we are glad to have you back" blah blah blah. In the end it will be business as usual.
Maybe I am just too synical, it's not like any of you have time to read this either so this is really only for my own benefit!

Wow, there hasn't been a Dev post on this topic in over two days, that's amazing when you consider that they started the topic to begin with. Not much of a roundtable nor discussion if you ask me, more of a place to vent. Sorry Devs, generally I try to be supportive and not point any fingers, but this is bad boarding on unacceptible. Please just throw us a bone!
Any possibility of posting something in the "In Concept" forum so players can post their ideas for changes?
Doubting this will be read by those in power,

This is just from the last 2 pages. I still fail to see any discussion happening between us (the community) and you (TH, the DEVs.)
At least tell us why you are silent all of sudden and happen to post only one-sentence posts once a day. This is not meant to be a flame in any way, but there WAS discussion going on in General Discussion. Here are only some small attempts which get spammed by the usual "Fix us!", which are desperate attempts to get attention for bugs which were around for months now. Like the BH bug (on a sidenote, I can imagine this is a nasty bug, but it should get MAJOR priority, since it's essential for the whole profession.)
But that not's the point, why this silence all of a sudden? There were dozens of posts every day before the holidays, did you all get the flu?
Some thoughts on balancing the combat professions
BH and Commando are the toughest to get so they should be the best. At the moment TKA is right up there with them
Of those two BH should be strong against a single target and Commando should be strong against highly armoured/almost indestructible targets but not actually so strong against individuals
In the real worldsoldiers with rocket launchers and flame throwers generally lose to soldiers with guns. The heavy weapons primarily are for other targets - turrets, vehicles, bases
Flamethrower is a strong anti-personnel weapon but it has poor range.
Now there are some restrictions in the system: all ranged weapons have a range of 64m for instance
So here is what I would suggest:
1) BH is probably fine, maybe some cosmetic changes. I've never met a BH who doesn't do insane PVE damage and they are very competent PVPers
2) The Flamethrower should be recoded as a melee weapon. It shouldn't go 64m, that's unbalanced. Just make it a high damage, up close weapon
3) Commando weapons should be high damage slow rate of fire. They are firing too fast right now. This is both unrealistic and unbalanced. Possibly they should also get penalised for accuracy against moving targets, at least the ones which weigh 30 kilos
4) the under-used commando weapons need some work. The charged weapons need 10 times as many charges at least
5) TK should be upgraded to a comparable profession. It is better than the other Brawler elite professions so let's adjust the requirements in line with Commando and BH. So Master Brawler is a given plus rank 4 in another basic skill, maybe more. Medical skills seem possible because of the healing powers in the Meditation line but I think that's too uber. How about Dancing 4 from the Entertainer profession? That gives it a bit more flavour and perhaps reflects the character of an ancient mystical fighting order
Part of TK's uberness is based on what seems to be a bug. When I use Stopping Shot (delay =3) at the speed cap what I see is this:
11.12.12 You use Stopping Shot on a sharnaff for 1200 damage
11.12.15 You use Stopping Shot on a sharnaff for 1200 damage
11.12.18 You use Stopping Shot on a sharnaff for 1200 damage
When I use UnarmedHit3 (delay =3)at the one second speed cap what I see is this:
11.12.12 You use (whatever it's called) on a sharnaff for 1200 damage
11.12.13 You use UAHit3 on a sharnaff for 1200 damage
11.12.14 You use UAHit 3 on a sharnaff for 1200 damage
So the bug is simply that the speed cap is in the wrong place
Now rather than fixing the bug I'd love to see TK instead upgraded to a moreadvanced profession, thank you for listening ![]()
can you suggest looking into letting powerups camps and other thing like this stack higher in crates, thus reducing database problems. crates of 100 rather than 10-25 would make it easier on all including the devs.

HAHAHAHA Oh man that is REALLY bad. First the link to an old review, now that... OH MAN that is hilarious!
I really think people at SOE are so off task.
Hmmm they have since correct thier gem, but no one responded here to thank me for bringing it to their attention!
Heh, they haven't responded last few days, and they were pretty quick on fixing that error. Guess the only person working atm ist the dude working on the website.
2. Defense Templates (Different Weapon defense mods stacking, etc.)
3. GCW (Beefed up imperial presence, NPC Jedi Hunters to control population,
4. Class Content (Smugglers, Bio-Engineers, Tailors, etc.)
What kind of bull**edit** is this? This is suppose to promote communication ???
This game has some serious problems that the devs either is unwilling or are incapable of dealing with:
1.LOOT or a.k.a. mmorpg rewards- *slap forehead* Is the devs incapable of understanding that this is a big ******* problem? Players do not play mmorpg just for the pleasure of grinding and rewardless quest. Crappy items = rewardless. How can this be so hard to understand?
2. Gaming orAdventuring GameContent. Introducing new types of player made droids or beefing the droid engineersIS NOT GAME CONTENT. Vehicles are not GAME CONTENT. These are features. Vehicles are nice. So now you ride vehicles. The novelty wears off within 24 hrs.
3. Single characters. This is laughable. In many other games, trying out another character class opens up new avenues of fun. In SWG, in order to do that, you have to either pay for another a/c OR surrender your hard earned skills. *slap forehead*. Devs, is this your idea of fun? So now people are locked into their character classes. Guess what? You now have to create fun content for ALL the classes. This is a case of shooting your own foot.
4. This game reminds me of another game Earth and Beyond. At first, the players complained and the DEVs did nothing. It was nerf nerf nerf all in the name of balance. The players starts to bleed out of the game. Then they started the buddy program (hey so did swg). Then its a 'galaxy transfer' program. Then they started adding new content but its a little bit too late. When the players was clamouring for content, all they got was nerf. When they finally pulled their head out of the sand, its was just a bit too late. They even had to start an 'amnesty' week to try and get all the old players back to see the new changes and hope that they stay. Sigh, why couldn't they do this properly and up front while the player base are still hot?
*shrug* i guess the devs still thinks that Cries of Alderan is 'new and exciting game content' then.
Well, its either the DEVs know of the problems but is incapable of solving it
OR
The DEVs couldn't give 2 hoots about our problems. Lets just keep them glued to the game by using delaying tactics.
Bah.
1.) None of our issues are being discussed in Dev run threads on the other "serious" forums, as was promised when our beloved general discussion board was removed. Way to go.
What is the secret to staying awake to read this whole thread? I really want to know because it will come in handy for crunch time for the project I am working on.
Since this question has nothing to do with the game maybe I will get an answer? You think?
AT-ST will defend itself, many creature such as Rancor, Krayt, Kimo etc use AoE attack which means they will attack these creatures.
Fix AT-ST can be healed by storing in datapad...
AT-ST is damaged to any amount (except dead of course), just store and call and it regains 4k health, can be repeated till AT-ST is fully healed.
