Thread: Weekly Rountdable Discussion (Week Ending 1-18-04)
1: Have a title for town miltia to show under names.
2: alot of people use houses just for storage, why littler the planet with houses that just have a few backpacks in to store stuff. make something smaller for storage instead of houses just use same slot count.
3:have town mayors remove people from milita without the person being removed being there. got one player that was in our guild and lived in town, he went rebel on us but never moved out, hes still milita and comes to town overt and attacks us, soon as one us kill him all the npc imps and turrets turn on us and they ment to be on our side. cant remove player coz he wont come to terminal to get removed.
4: i seen a large building structor(npc) its a house with a large walled off yard with 2 entrance, would be great for an outdoormarket instead of having to fill a house up with vendors. could be classed as a town building like cantina etc, only members of that city can place vendors there.
In response to Trystan1969's post (Page 18)...
The Dantooine base was mentioned by Princess Leia in Episode 4, in which she used it as the location of the Rebel base. The Empire already knew of the base, and that it had been abandoned. If I remember the specifics right... a transponder was attached to a cargo container headed to the Rebel HQ. The transponder was located, and the base was evacuated in record speed before the Empire arrived. After this, the Empire set up an outpost (one of the three outposts on Dant) to prevent further Rebel activity.
As to Luke and Kun... I'm Imperial, so I don't know much to the story line the devs have in place. However, even with this true it doesn't still explain why Luke wouldn't be converted, and would mess up the Jedi Academy trilogy since it is mentioned that the two times in rescent history that Kun 'woke up' was shortly during the battle of Yavin, and then later with the whole Kyp Duron incident. If Luke knew of Kun's presence, then Yavin would havebeen a really stupid location to start a training facility.
Yea Han is hiding... but good luck with an Imperial Outpost most likly supported by spacecraft that know the Millenium Falcon's signature like the back of their hands. (It did sort of shoot Darth Vader... that usually doesn't put you on Vader's 'friend' list)
My reference to Theed was regarding overt Rebels. Covert would make complete sense, as the Rebellion by it's nature is a covert one. Seeing overt Rebels occupying Theed is simply ridiculous... moreso that the Emporer and Vader are on planet. In addition, with the Emporer around, that would most likly mean at least a 'few' Star Destroyers (Including the Executer) are in orbit... and hence every shuttle would be subject to inspection (After the activities witnessed in the many SW flight sims over the years it would be ridiculous if such precautions wern't taken). Overt Rebels shouldn't even be able to travel to Naboo.

HAHAHAHA Oh man that is REALLY bad. First the link to an old review, now that... OH MAN that is hilarious!
I really think people at SOE are so off task.
Hmmm they have since correct thier gem, but no one responded here to thank me for bringing it to their attention!
I feel that CH should have the same Creature Knowledge as the Ranger by master rank. It doesn’t make sense to me that the Ranger knows more about animals and creatures than a Creature Handler. From a role-play perspective I would think that someone who dedicates themselves so much to handling and training creatures should know a lot about them, perhaps more than a Ranger, but I’m not asking to know more than a Ranger I’m asking to only know as much as one. I wouldn’t be picky where you put the Creature Knowledge bonuses, I would just like to see a boost there.
I also have a second suggestion that might add some to the world and make milk a bit more accessible. Now this may add a little too much to the CH but I guess the worst that can happen is I’m either ignored or told no. So here it goes. I would like to see an additional radial button added for Master CH (and only for master level). The ability to “milk” an adult female pet. This radial button would only be available if the CH has an adult female and a baby of the same species out at the same time. Now I know that there should be some limits on how much milk can be harvested during any time, and I have a suggestion on that too. I think the best suggestion would be something like when you “milk” the adult you gain perhaps her CL*5 or CL*10 units of appropriate milk and the female is used-up and destroyed. This will keep the amount of milk down so not too much of it is entering the game at a time. The baby would have to be a baby in level not just in name.
I don’t know if these are feasible or not, but hey I can ask can’t I?
Thank you,
Drogon Ope
TH why are you replacing us Imperial Players with NPC. We Imperial players need to be able to be involved in the GCW. You are giving the Rebel more to do more to kill and more fun. What do we get? We get a crappy AT-ST that wont even fight for us. I dont even consider that a reward for becoming a Imperial. We Imperials should be rewarded for our service to the Empire. This will make more people want to join us instead of the Rebels.
When you decided to nerf our AT-ST's we took a major hit in population and moral. We are already outnumbered and yet you took our only way to keep them under control.
Now you replace us with NPC. Sure that gives me a great motivation to continue working for the Empire I tell you, NOT.
I am soon to be changing sides, I wasted all my time on becoming a Colonel and getting one AT-ST for nothing. Thanks TH.
Please, oh please fix the spawn rates on Lok. Within an hour of coming online, the planet is nearly empty.
It looks like the same issue Dantooine used to have.
I'm not sure if this is isolated to Bloodfin or in all galaxies, but I really would like to see some random spawns after 9AM. Especially some Giant Dune Kimo ones.
Hey TH (or whoever). Could you please give this idea alook...

Along with these supposed Empire Crackdown changes. How about giving Imperial PC's of sufficient rank the ability to scan any non-imperial for contraband?
If the character is neutral nothing will ever be found wether or not said neutral player has contraband or not. So he will not be affected by the PvP aspect but will still be made to feel like he/she is on the sidelines of the GCW.
But when said Imperial scans a covert Rebel for contraband, if some is discovered he gets an automatic TEF or perhaps said covert Rebel must deposit his contraband to the imperial PC via a command on the radial menu(the Imperial PC does not retain the goods, they get automatically destroyed).
This would give rank more meaning. Give Imperial players a little bit of GCW content and give rebels that, "You better watch out," feel...
"Galactic Civil War
The Galactic Civil war is a central theme in the Star Wars timeline and the goal of this effort is to create more atmosphere and interactivity in the Star Wars Galaxies MMO while retaining its basic design philosophies such as PvP by choice, "star warsy" ambience and other facets of player involvement.
Changes to the existing Galactic Civil War will be considered for the month of January and implemented in March. In Concept discussions may include new features and items as well as design changes to the existing system. Points of focus will be:
Request for Comments:
The community is invited to make comments and suggestions about the proposed changes from Monday, January 5th through Wednesday, January 21st. (In Concept Forum will be live on January 5th)"
The above quote is from the "In Concept" link off the home page:

Exactly where is "the community" supposed to "make comments and suggestions about the proposed changes" because it is Wednesday, January 14th (9 days AFTER the comment period was supposed to begin) and the only thing in the "In Concept" forum is the "Hey, look at this exciting new forum" message by Q-3PO(and that thread is locked)?
1 Thing, If i May, i'd like to get the max entertainer limit in any cantina set to 20 people, i mean listen to my situation.
we all know how bad the lag is in coronet, correct?
before christmans i was running a system with an Athalon 1800+ (1.1ghz) 512 megs of SDRAM PC 133,an Radeon 8500 le w/ 128 ddr emmory (AGP).
i am running a system with a 2.8 ghz p4, 512 megs of ddr (266) ram, a raedeon 8500le w/ 128 megs of ddr memory (AGP) . and i defrag my harddrive every night after i go to sleep.
yet last nigth i was in the cantina in coronet, the game locked up and was using 422 megs of my 512 max.
so i go to reload and it takes me 8 minute 8 whole minutes just to finish loading, after that it took me 4 minutes to walk outside of the cantina, while i realize i'm not running the best system in the world, it's far better than the old system i was running, and it lags even worse now then when i had my old system (before the vehicle patch)
while i realize you guys are trying to eliminate some lag, i think a hard cap of 20 entertainers, MAX in a cantina would be more than enough.
while my system was frozen i saw roughly 47 people in coronet's cantina AFK macroing an entertainer profession.
if you put a hard cap of 20 "performing" entertainers per cantina, i think the population would spread out a bit more, and some of your lag issues could be fixed.
Please let me know something can be done about this, i'm sick of having my computer lock up every time i try to get my mind healed, because coronet's cantina is the only place where you'll knwo there will be entertainers.
a cap like this would ensure the use of other cantinas and might make some entertainers take to player cities.
but then again i might be completely wrong.
Oh I suggest you make Resources stack in higher that 100k lots maybe 500k or even 1 mill.
Give resources heavy profs like Architect say 5 more lots and make a structure factory ONE LOT not two.
Oh don't know if this happens to anyone else.. sometimes SW:G locks up so I have to reset my PC.. but on reloading back into SWG I find my HUD has reset to default.. this is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO anoying you have no idea. Especially when your have 4-5 double bars used up.
Blob candy anyone?
