sounds like a great idea, but do me a favor...DO NOT REVEAL ANY STEPS TO UNLOCK JEDI!!! This was the mistake that has been hurting this game for the longest time! The release of holocrons put an end to the GCW, we are finally trying to get that going again, I do not want to see anything else that will hurt the course of this game!

I do not mean this as a flame, nor do I blame the devs entirely for what has happened TH, just wanted to voice my opinon.

So does this mean that once you complete the quest with this system you would not get another character that is FS on the serever but instead you would make your current character a Jedi"

If so UBER GAY

If you make it a force sensitivity quest, that player will have to complete it in order to advance. Hording the title for themselves wouldn't be possible if they wanted to advance. It wouldn't have to be "contact a specific player." I doubt they would make it impossible for you to be contacted by only one other player, and if they don't contact you you're screwed. It also doesn't have to be a high ranking jedi, it could be the final quest to padawan, or somewhere else. Also, notice that my posting is not identical to "NakedandFearless" which was reponded to by Scarius. I'm not necessarily saying it has to be a specific person. Perhaps, as stated in my original post, you had to look for a person with specific characteristics. Those characteristics could change slightly from one person to another. That would leave some mistery in the game regarding how to get targeted for force sensitivity. The possibility of selling an unlock is an interesting point. But again, it was just a thought, FOR THE DEVS.

sorry bro but it doesn't sound like you are making it any different from grinding professions at all.

get x amount of missions for x amount of xp each to buy x amount of fs skills to finally get your ability to be a jedi. that is the same bloody thing that I did to grind out 18 professions before I quit the game the first time. how is this any different from taking x amount of missions to get x amount of xp to master xxxx combat profession for a normal character right now? uhhhh....it's not. the other parts of it sound interesting but seriously making it based on the exact same way you do combat professions does not take out " the grind ".

Even though most people want it out you have to grind in some way either it is mastering professions or doing quests because that is how becoming a jedi is. By making the way to FS hard and challangingthe devs are just followingthe way of the star wars universe because the kids had to start training like at 4 so by 18 they will finally be force senstive enough to become a padawan. During that time they trained really hard didn't see there parents or family. So if the devs made the path to FS easy they would be going against the starwars universe. Also luke didn't have any force powers until 1 day an old man gave him a lightsiber and he started to feel force reflexes. I think that the path should be mysterios until a stranger comes and gives you a training lightsaber and you choose if you want to partake i the training. If you accept he will give a training lightsaber and you must complete tasks with the saber and when you complete it you will get a skill box. This will continue until you finally get FS. At that point you must seek out the village of Aurilia and there you will get quests to become a padawan including building your own lightsaber. That's my Idea of combining the mysterios path with a know one.

I think it has promise... I hope it includes a "quest" so to speak of our own direction. As has been stated before, it may be complicated for a dynamic system to be in place, but randomizing the direction of this path could eliminate widespread distribution of the information. And by "quest" I mean discoveries of our own, such as picking up on the trail of something unusual and actually doing some true sleuthing to find the source.

Oh... but in all fairness, please release a jedi brainworm and kill off all the grinders first. Ty.

Please no main character as your Jedi. Allow us to open the new slot and have the option to start the Jedi quests with it. From a RP standpoint at least don't make us destroy our mains or have to spend another year to open Jedi skills for a new character.

<------ this "casual" player would appreciate it very much. Thanks.

From a RP standpoint that'd actually be wrong. What that implies is that Luke wasn't, in fact, a Jedi, but his alter ego was. I think the main becoming FS is a great idea. It sticks with the contonuity of the story (i.e. finding out you're FS and developing your skills) and makes much more sense.

Actually it depends on how your "main" characters bio is. Mine is a smuggler through and through. Yours maybe different, in fact I bet it is as well as everyone elses. I guess what I'd like to see is a choice. Either A. keep all FS prereq skills on the main or B. Transfer them to the new character slot and start the padawan path from there. With that everyone has a choice. You can have your way and RP your "main" character from that point and create a regular new template on the new slot or I can have mine and not destroy my "main" character's backstory and thriving business in order to have a chance to role play a Jedi.

XxQuinlantuu_SaacuraxX wrote:

That's no different from the current system...Do you mean having to grind the new character to where your main was AND having to work with your jedi, which is a bit of a pain, is what you'll be forced to do? Quite honestly, you don't HAVE to grind your secondary back to where your main was, it would just be a lot more convenient

Um, Idon't understand what you mean by this. So what you aresaying is that IfI want to keep playing a smuggler/whatever my main is then I should have to do itwith the new toon, grind that up, then have to go and play my "main" Jedi character and proceed to level him up? Sorry but it seems like youwould want totake mt established "main" character", gut his template, just to train him asaJedi after I regrind my second slot up to where my original toon was? That doesn't sound very fair considering all pre-patch 9 Jedi did not have to do this.

great more jedi content. man TH seems always to make the wrong choice when it comes to keeping this game fun. i wish they would get someone that knows what they are doing as leader of the dev team. the empire would find this place and kill everyone inside. maby they should put 500k hamed guards with 95% resists to everything to guard the place with some SPDs. TH man have u even seen star wars or read any of the books. i bet your a trekkie and this is your way of trashing on star wars fans.

I like the idea, as long as there is no camping at the spot where the "approaching NPC" is.

Finnaly an end to all this sensless grinding!

Perhaps people can start playing the game again.

Questlog would be nice, specially if the themeparks are added to the questlog system. (Oh, Id like more themeparks please, perhaps more imp missions their kinda hard to get by these days. Specially with a continuing story. Thought Id try with the ask nicly approach)

Also someone said that they wanted other types of quests than just killing 5 things and returning. I agree puzzles and new content is appreciated specially in these quests.

I mean, Act I with the coded messages, that was a thrill since it was a challange not only to gaming but also you needed some thinking.

I think I like idea, but I am cought up we may change the rules part. I dont like holo grinding butyou guys made the system dontblame us fo usingit. I amnot going to unlock before patch I am sure ( so cant be to much of a grinder) but what makes me mad is the though of starting a new system and someone goingwait to many jedi lets change it again and getting left out in the cold after playing the game the way you made it.
