I like the idea for light jedi to be trained, but as for dark jedi, i think they should be sought out by one of the Emporer's Hands and braught in for training. that would be more accurate to the star wars universe.maybe mara jade could seek out imperials, since she was always atuned to the emporer's will. I would like to see riddles to solve in the quest. But to answer your questions, yes and yes.

at this point in the timeline, the Empire is DESTROYING all jedi, don't forget that to become dark, you have to be light and FALL to the dark side. If a jedi at any stage were saught out by the Empire, it would be for extermination

The Village sounds great. Have you thought about using actual players to notify new force sensitive players about the village? Instead of being approached by a mesterious stranger NPC, you could be approached by an actual player, who are themselves on force quests. I.E. (find so and so and tell them about the village) as a force sensitive quest, or would this one be too easy. Just a thought. It might generate too many visitors to a village that is supposed to be hidden. Perhaps you would have to find a candidate, by examining them, and looking for specific characteristics. If given specific perameters, you had to locate someone with just the right combination of badges or something similar, and then physically bring them back to the village. If the person you bring back meets the criteria, then they are allowed to enter, and you get credit for the quest.

Keep up the good work.

As mentioned above, there'd be teh greedy that would keep this from the next person in line or the person that's looking to make a quick buck and will advertise an unlock on eBay starting at $200. Any which way you organize the letters of this idea, it still spells "disaster". I'd rather have the system flag me the moment I unlock and have the stranger standing beside me at my next login, sort of like the cliche' "You're finally awake" scene in a movie. Just make sure to name the NPC "A Mysterious Stranger".

- Aurilia village is a Great idea .... But where do you want create this village?? not a usual planet i hope.

For accessing Village..we need to make some quests or missions .

For exemple all the time you need to access the village you need to make 2 or 3 Missions taken in different place ...after the 3 missions a mystic guy send you to the village with a special shuttle. ( never the same missions for all players !! )

- The Quest Journal is a real great Idea.

either it should be instanced.. or there should be multiple villages, i.e., multiple shrines for jedis, otherwise, it will be RIDICULOUSLY lagged... but the concept sounds great. And I do hope you don't put any sort of timer on doing the quests... meaning you can only do 1 quest per week or something stupid. The harder a person works towards it, the more he/she should be rewarded.... PLEASE, no timetable stuff.

It all sounds good but I am really worried what kind of credit us people who have invested time in the current prof grind system will get towards FS. Most of us who have grinded 20+ and wont have a FS slot by release of publish 10 wont want all of that hard work pissed away with the new system.

When players finish their Force Sensitivity training, they may choose to either remain simply an FS character or go on to Padawan training.

•Do you like the idea of the Village of Aurilia?
•Do you like the idea of adding a quest journal?

This is an excellent idea, truly superb. Have you given any thought to the inevitable camping that will result or will this village only allow entrance to those who have been invited? I am not sure that instancing would work in this situation, but I suppose conceptually it might. Really nice job TH. This is huge step in the right direction, as long as the quests are not go kill this go kill that.

Please no main character as your Jedi. Allow us to open the new slot and have the option to start the Jedi quests with it. From a RP standpoint at least don't make us destroy our mains or have to spend another year to open Jedi skills for a new character.

<------ this "casual" player would appreciate it very much. Thanks.

i have to say i dont like the idea of this village, but your headed in the right direction. its better than grinding, but i have to ask, where was this village in the original star wars, i dont recall any people who were force sensetive sneaking off to a village to train, i say you just go plain and simple and send us to a randomly generated npc for our own character who as discovered us as "force senestive." that would be a jedi or a "retired" jedi who is tired of the empire killing all the jedi, i dont really care for the back story, but i think its almost impossible for you to make this a totally awesome experience other than just grinding quests, because basically from what ive seen from my year of playing, sorry to say, you dvs wont be able to pull that off, but i digress. that npc sends us on quests totally different from other players, this would eliminate a lot of potential problems with a single village being the hub of force senetivity. also this would make a crafter do his/her crafting missions or a combat or a doc do there missions, or what ever profession you are, be able to do your unique missions. journal sounds cool thought, but dont make it manditory in some way.

That would be the smart thing to do, and thats exactly why we didnt do it.

I like both ideas. The quest journal was somethign that was always handy in other games, especially when you can put your own notes in there. Currently the best wat I'm aware of is waypoints to remember things. I like the idea of this village very much, Hologrinding seemed to take away from the 'journey' aspect of becoming a Jedi in this time period. Since we don't have any 'official' Jedi Council, we need a more Luke-based approach, and a less Obi-wan-based one. I think the new system will make the path to Jedi more fulfilling, and give you good gameplay memories along the way as it appears to befar more story driven than simply checking off professions. My question is, will the "stranger's visit" be random for each player?, or will it occur based on things the player has done? (visiting Jedi-related locations, supporting Jedi players, learning Jedi-like professions, etc) I'd like to think that if I act like a Jedi, and do things they would do, I'd get there faster than a smuggler with a YT-1300 and a blaster.

From a RP standpoint that'd actually be wrong. What that implies is that Luke wasn't, in fact, a Jedi, but his alter ego was. I think the main becoming FS is a great idea. It sticks with the contonuity of the story (i.e. finding out you're FS and developing your skills) and makes much more sense.

and by the way,

"spend another year to open Jedi skills for a new character"

That's no different from the current system...Do you mean having to grind the new character to where your main was AND having to work with your jedi, which is a bit of a pain, is what you'll be forced to do? Quite honestly, you don't HAVE to grind your secondary back to where your main was, it would just be a lot more convenient.

This sounds like an outstanding idea. My biggest concern, as I am sure it is with others, is maintaing some kind of continutity with the "canon" star wars universe. Even though at this point I believe this would be considered an Expanded Universe situation, it sound like a very plausable scenario to use for the Force Sensitive concepts and quests. I look forward to hearing more.
