Thread: Friday Feature Jan 23rd Jedi Revamp
I'm am not a jedi and I have a few friends who are.
I just wanted to tell you (SOE) ty for listening to players requests.
Your Jedi idea needs some tweaking but it is a very very good start.

So now that you have a your token Jedi (the majority of which are uber-leet powergamer doodz), you are going to change the path. So long as you can show all the prospective players that it is 'possible' to be a Jedi...
"Of course SWG is fun...See you can be a Jedi"
So now we have to kill a Krayt? Take on a platoon of STs? Oooo, that's what the AT-AT is for.
"Lets release the game as is so we can start making money on it then we can completely change it to the way we meant for it to be. Should only take 12-18 months. Who cares if the players get pissed, they won't quit after investing all that time and money into it."

You guys understand that if they are changing the FSCS system (which is my interpretation), it's probably months away, right?
If you are grinding now, you'll probably unlock before the new system.
This is the"In Testing" forum, which is supposed to reflect what is currently in testing on the Test Center Server.
At least that's what Q said when he said this forum was only for people who play on Test Center.

This forum isn't meant to replace the Test Center forum. We want to keep the Test Center forum as a place for the TC community to discuss issues with the current Test Center code and also interact with each other like any other galaxy forum.
This forum will be for Devs to ask specific questions about code on test center. In general we ask that you don't answer these threads unless you are actually playing on Test Center.
Thanks.
He later said they want "informed" opinions in the forum, and suggested that people who play on Test Center would be the most informed.
I just looked in the Test Center forum and don't see a single comment about this yet.
Finding the mark will be a mad search across the galaxy. It is in effect, a one in a million shot. The new system can very liekly be something like that. I remember reading several posts in the past about a quest type system for Jedi and one suggested was that when you take a quest EXACTLY WHAT YOU CHOOSE in the radial menu affects your path to Jedi.
You can get lucky and choose the correct answers to each item or handle the situation correctly the FIRST time, but odds are you won't. If you mess up too many times, you are doomed to never get Jedi. There were several differnt ideas for a quest system but NONE were a cake walk propostiton.
It was also said that you shouldn't get to start a NEW CHARACTER if you REMOVE PERMADEATH. If you reach force sensitive status then the current character should be made the jedi. He just loses all previous skills and possessions. There was some talk about the ability to have two characters on a server, even if one was a Jedi, and thjis was suggested as a solution.
The point is, people, that this is just a couple of things discussed in the last couple months. There were dozens more suggestions given as well. You can't take this one tiny HINT and think you know squat about what the new system will be like. If you had been keeping up with ALL the Jedi FSCS stuff you would know there a a lot of options to consider.
Let me ask you this:
Why are you still playing if you have so little faith the DEVS can make anything better?
The chef, bio-engie, and more have been revamped. More is coming. They listen and they do their best to give us all something to make us happy. If you think they can't then why play this game? Don't you have something better to do with 15 bucks?
Since your screwing everyone that was trying why not screw every one that is too and make it a clean sweep.
Remove all FSCS and start fresh.
This announcement is about as clear as mud. ![]()
CAN WE GET SOMEDEVCLARIFICATION PLEASE?!
Is this changing the way you open your FS slot, the way you level from padawan to master jedi, or both?
I think they are trying to find a way to make us dedicate ourselves to something instead of just burning through them.. This was said once by a dev in the game, "We didn't think about the idea that players will all be burning through professions to get Jedi when once they figured out how to get the fscs. We want to change it so players who dedicate themselves to their profession are rewarded instead of those who have more time to "grind". This takes time and planning though."
And I agree that if you have been grinding for months to get the fscs and they change things you might lose some work that it's just...TOO BAD! This game wasn't built for everyone to "grind" professions. It is something YOU COULD DO, but if you choose to you are missing out on the purpose of it all. Just because you can doesn't mean you should. I like the idea that being a Chef for a months beign rewarded instead of just being able to master a profession faster than everyone else.

Yeah this is what im trying to work out....its reads as if they are changes to grinding to JEDI, not changes to grinding to open your force slot.
Its a good thing yes. But this also brings a good point. If the quest is the same for every person. There will be a ton of more jedi.
And what about the people with about 20+ professions done what happens to there work? A lousy badge, yea most likely.
