just a little thought.Im so confused

Everyone gets a FS slot. But that dont make you a jedi.

You can work on that FS slotas you wish, either make it like an normal char, and get no extra force powers.

Or you can start going on the path to become an padawan, but you arent a jedi yett ?

when you have come this far as to obtaine an padawan rank,u still have to prove your self worthy of a jedi Knight rank through PvE ?

When you finaly have the Jedi Knight rank you can then move on to become an master off force abillities through out the PvP system ? this will give you the Master Jedi titel ??

if im correct this sound like an awsome ide,as only the best PvP/tactical players will be masters and maybe get a seat at the Underground Councill.

It will also keep the population of master jedi's low,but even a normal player will have a chance at trying a force sensitive char..

(sorry about bad spelling),and i might have mixed something up.But you gett my point hehe )

Not unlocking second slot until Jedi Knight = final deathblow to GCW.

Noone will want to die. People will either resign from their faction or simple avoid all pvp. If you can't see this you're either a complete idiot or totally blind.

This isn't turning out to be the "post full of positive feedback" that I figure the devs were half-way expecting.

Why?

Because it's not a good idea.

Fix Jedi problems, not how you get Jedi.

If someone wants to grind 24/7 and master 30 skills to become a Jedi, let them.

I agree. After today I will have mastered 14 professions. I think I have come this far and should have the option to finish it. I am not the one that put in the old system, and when I started the holo grind the new Jedi system wasn't even talked about. I think those that have put in many hours of grinding and mastering professions that they didn't really want to, should at least have the option of finishing what they started.

Last night I contemplated stopping the hologrinding, but decided that it would feel to much like quiting, and throwing in the towel. I am not a quiter, and I don't give up on things. I know we hologrinders had a choice on this, but we didn't have a choice on how to unlock your jedi slot. We played by their rules, now they are betraying us.

I propose keeping the current system for unlocking your slot, as well as the new system, running parrallel with each other. You can master professions and get your second slot right away, or you can do it the new way and wait until you get to Jedi Knight to get your second slot.

And on another side note, I have been trying to find my silent profession for a while now, please don't make me never find out what it is. I really feel that the devs owe us the option to finish what we started, with the same rewards that were promised when we started, anything short of this would be unfair.

Icant believe you dev's have the audacity to do something like this, ask for our opinions and comments, and then give a extremely general answer to a few issues, and then not have the responsibility to respond to a few simple concerns/issues posted after the fact, like your answers to these questions are so "well-worded" that it leaves a shroud of mystery over whats really happening.

Ive grinded on and off now between the few accounts i play on, if all this time went to waste, i myself will be pissed, as i am sure hundreds if not thousands of other players will be also

my 2 cents, LEAVE THE CURRENT SYSTEM IN PLACE FOR HOLOGRINDERS AND 2ND ACCOUNTS, then add whatever junk you want to add for a new system, ive master 12 professions now, thats months of sleep deprived nights of playing to grind away. And just to master SOME professions like merchant, architect, chef, tailor etc, If you actually calculate it out, there is something like 450,000 mouse clicks just to grind away for chef alone doing soypros and somethin at deserts III. WHAT A MINDLESS TASK to perform all in the hopes you get a chance at a jedi slot. Obviously stuff is changing here with the revamp, but guess what, there are 32 professions to master, if i have to master them all in the next 2 months or whatever i am going to step upmy efforts

ALSO There is smething about forced PvP and maybe GCW pvp. This is simple and im sure will be the first "exploit" in the new system, just get some buddies or friendly reb's/imps to PvP with you to "grind" those skills away, find somebody on another server to make a new account and shoot you with a cdef pistol or something, who cares that such a dumb idea and a waste of time makes me sick.

This thread is about the most intelligent comments ive read on the forums, everyone has the same opinions or concerns i guess, and the opinion is that THE DEVS NEED TO ANSWER SOME QUESTIONS AND MAKE THIS A WORKING SYSTEM OR YOU WILL LOSE HALF YOUR PLAYER BASE!! open your eyes, read the 19pages of threads, there are 2-3 people on each page saying they are gonna quit if you wasted their hologrind time

a new thought

So this post is becoming more and more childish the more i read..hehe..sorry no offence to anyone

But the release notes on publish 9 are just a little...a tiny part off what is to come. The devs arent finnished whit it yett so please be paticent and wait for more info. And the conspiracy continues hehe

And if you guys think that its gona make it easier to gett a jedi..well i dont think it will.

I personaly think the DEV's are gona make a lot harder now as there is alot of jedis already and they prob want to keep the population low.

and remember that there were lots of force sensitive and and few jedi's in this time line.

ooh well im prob getting flamed for this hehe....knock your selvs out.but flaming or personal attacks dont have anything in this post to do.

Give positive and negative feedback and mybe the devs will bother to watch the post. But keep it at an profesional level. Ahhh but what do i know im just a noob.

8 monthshave i been playing the game, but im still a noob...

And i have been so harsh on the CSR's at times..wow i can be an **edit**hole sometimes..hahahahaha

ok so im in a wierd mood right now.lo

sorry about my bad writing,And if you dont like my spelling dont read it.But keep shutt and dont ruin the good time for others by flaming and starting whit personal attacks hirr hirr

Hi all,

i got a few questions.

1:I hear "dumb" rumors like it will take a year to get done with quests?

2: why not have both ways quests and holocrons?

3: And what happends to guys that have done all the holocrons but just havent guessed the right one to unlock?

1: if so, people will surely jump to other games i belive. (i dont belive it before i see it.)

2: Would be nice to have both.

3o we get some of the quest done auto since we have done alot of the holocrons?

I hope the quests are hard and so on, but not as long asa year.

have masterd :

marksman, scout, bounty hunter, holo 1 squad leader , tka, brawler and holo 2 merchant(working on) dont want this to go to waste....

The point to the current jedi system is to maintain continuity with the rest of the SW universe (books, movies, SWRPG). The simple fact of the matter is, in the era in which this game takes place, those who were force sensative didn't have any idea they were unless by some outlying chance they met someone who was knowledgable in the Jedi ways (i.e. Luke Skywalker). It wasn't until this happened that thye found out they were FS. Now granted with the system the way it is now you can Holo grind through 30+ professions with the intention of opening up your FS slot., however the main point to the current system is you don't really know how or when the slot will open. I think that is much more in keeping with the rest of the SW universe than if everyone has thier FS slot at the very beggining and has the knowledge from the start that they can pursue the Jedi ranks. The main reason now that there aren't 100's of Jedi running around in every city is that they don't feel like spending all this time Holo grinding through 30+ professions. As a matter of fact, according to what they state about the current Jedi system, some people may not have to go through that extent, the point is that no one knows when and where it will happen. I say leave that part of the Jedi system as is , and revamp from the point when someone does happen to open their FS slot. In the whole Imp-v-Reb situation during this era, the regular everydaypeople did the fighting and making the changes in the universe, not the Jedi.

I like how the system is changing, and I think Its should be quest oriented as I said before. Though the only reason ive stoped holo grinding is because of this jedi revamp and I garantee others felt the same way too. remember about the space expansion. When that comes out being a jedi wont really help. People will want to persue the new proffesions and maybe create a new character. I think that a group of people who have been playing swg should get together with some devs and just talk about this subject.

I really have to say that if the impression the statement gives is true (your current character becomes the jedi and you gain a newer one at a later day), I won't be renewing my account.Sure many will dismiss this as simply whining or complaining but those for the most part dont understand truly how many hours have been invested into my goal, and to have all that time flushed is very frustrating. Im all for a revamp to improve the game, but dont you think this minor point could be avoided? It seems petty but its really quite a big deal. To the DEVS I created a rodian character based on the goal of unlocking a jedi and eventually having my main as a BH ironically enough. To find out now that after all this hard work I could not unlock in time and be stuck with a RODIAN Jedi is a real slap in the face.If I'm mistaken about this anyone that wants to send me an email in game and clear this up it would be much appreciated.

You know I've been playing this game awhile now and I've never posted on a board, at least not that I remember, if I have before, sue me LoL.

Anyway back to the reason I'm actually taking time to post, I see alot of nay sayers and harsh comments on this board alone. I know alot of people have put hard work into getting their Jedi and they don't want to see it go to waste but here's y take on it, and honestly my take is probably coming from a bit ofa skewed perspective.

I got into SWG because I wanted to play a game that centered around the Star Wars universe, I wanted the atmosphere for the most part and I won't lie, I wanted to -EVENTUALLY- be a Jedi. See I was hoping that the way unlocking the Jedi (or FSCS) worked was more akin to the books (here's my roleplayer perspective) I once read a book called I, Jedi (by Micheal Stackpole for those that'd like to pick it up ) and the main theme was one mans journey from what he was (to put it into game perspective he was a marksman/BH/pilot type) see he was force sensitivehis entire life, it didn't help him alot but it helped him every so often, andnot in huge ways, more of a gut reaction to things. Now granted this is hard to translate into game terms but I think this is the way the Devs aregoing and to be honest it sounds great to me, as a roleplayer I love the idea.

Alot of people have also been complaining that everything is broken in the game, well folks I'm not the highest level char, hell my toon sometimes can't even afford shuttle passage but from what I've seen the few things that don't work don't ruin the game.Granted there are bugs, but I have yet to find a MMORPG that doens't have any bugs. If things aren't working the way you feel they should by all means express your opinion, I'll more then happily read itwether I agree with you or not. My problem with people complaining isn't the complaining itself but the hostility toward the staff. No I don't work for Sony or in anyway affiliated with the staff I just know that they're doing their best to fix every bug they hear about orcome across, butsince this game is HUGE, I mean the playerbase alone is gargantuan, it's going to take time.

Asfar as Jedi Revamp goes,if I'm reading what Thunderhead put down correctly, they are finally putting Jedi into the perspective that the books have ahd them for years, at least from my point of view. I canfinally play my characters (well when the patches come out at least) as I alwayswanted to, they have a life before they were Jedi, they retain those skills, at least to a degree, when they become Jedi and yes if they dedicate their lives to becomeing masters then they focus everything in their life to becoming Jedi hence letting some skills go tofocus on others much like people who join the priesthood or go off to become monks. If I want to only be force sensitive with a few perks andactually have myself as a Bounty Hunter that has a keen gut or instinct then I can.

I hope this is what's planned for the Jedi, I hope they do fix the prolems that have been found in the game which I'm sure they will, given time, but one thing at a time. I'm sure the last thing the Devs need are hundereds of people yelling "My problem first, I'm the most important, pay attention to me!" let them handle it, I promise they'll fix it, they have to guys, it's how they make a living.

Ok, I'm done, feel free to flame me as I know many people will, all I request is that you be creative as I find them very entertaining

Diomedes, they might change the Jedi death system, too. Probably will.

If your main character is your Jedi Initiate, I bet there will be no Jedi death penalties. I bet death penalties are gonna start only when your 2nd slot opens.
