Correlian Corvette is a blast!!!

We got mullered on our first go but had a good time getting the crap beaten out of us eventually... it's not impossible but it is bloody good fun... stop being a bunch of wimps and wanting everything to be easy enough to go in and get the loot everytime!

Enjoy the fact that it is difficult and will give you and a bunch of mates a harsh lesson or two but stick with it and you will see success and you will want to go back and have another blast at it even when u get beaten down. Fair enough armour takes a bit of a mullering but you can buy that stuff back anytime you want, no ammount of credits will buy us decent, difficult and entertaining content so bear with it.

Why should SWG be about a place where everything is achievable to every player?

If you are bothered by the fact that you couldnt get the uber new loot there are other stuff like armour attachments to get from the earlier mobs... i picked up a rifle accuracy 8 +taking cover 7 + combat medic efficiency 4 attachment after about 8 group kills.

This is a cool dungeon and finally something to keep those who play this game alot something to really come to grips with i'm glad we didnt finish it on our first attempt as it would have just been another run of the mill dungeon... good work devs... our guild loved it, cant wait to give it another blast or two later tonight!!!!

Me (Esta) and Zeke just finished the corvette, with just the 2 of us (tka/rifle/novice med, and pike/rifle/novice med) and had 30 minutes to spare... Got the badge and the AV21 schematic (now all i need is one of those damn power plants, lol). So i know it is doable.. if a team of 2 people can do it, a smart team with more ppl should have an easy time (once u have ur cooperation down, and know where to go.. took us a few practise runs to to get a feel for the place)

Ps A lot of the people i see complain here about it being imposible don't have ranged dmg mitigation, i sugest you pick up a ranged profession master before going to this place, else you will be toast! In my book this is a good thing, since ranged professions so far have had the sticky end of the stick since every high level content place was melee only, so their skills were only usefull as 'support' characters.. Finaly a place where that really comes into its own

And one hint: Really you don't need to kill every mob you see, just run parts of it (like past the super battle droids to set fuel, or while getting datadisks) and ignore the shots fired at you.. the 20 seconds your running past them should be easely survivable by anyone w/ proper professions and some experiance.

Any how, now that i have done it a few times, all i can say is "I love the place!" A good chalange, some nice (prob rare for a while) rewards, and a nice badge to show off... And a hell of a good time figuring it out and running thru the place :-)

After reading some of the initial afteraction reports yesterday from the 'vette, I was a LOT let down based on the level of difficulty I read about. Raiyne had a ticket and sent out a call in GC to go run the beast and after a successful 2100 faction point grind, I was in Kor Vella and figured, screw it, lets just see what its about.

Here's my $.02:

1) Arrived safely, cool.

2) Graphic bug rendered 90% of the Corvette completely invisible to me. I couldn't see walls, floors, ceilings (ceiling lights still visible) or anything associated with "terrain". So I spent most of my time up there running blindly through space. Oh, what f*cking joy. Thank you for a new bug to cherish.

3) First contact with the enemy was with standard storm commandos, nothing extraordinary. First contact with the heavy stuff wasn't too rough either. A couple TKMs and Commandos made dealing with them pretty easy to handle.

4) First contact with the ubertroopers. Those storm commandos with the gold armor. What. The. F*ck? Aside from some gold trim, they weren't anything special looking. Did a quick examine and my jaw hit the floor. Still, they were manageable with the fire support we had. Now understand, I was NOT trying to tank these things. I was staying clear and spamming FullAutoSingle2 trying to get state effects landed and the occasional attempt at ChargeShot1.

Devs, I gotta ask. Why in the f*ck do you give us these wonderful state effect attacks and then throw us against mobs that instantly resist everything (but the bleeds and flames)? There's no strategy to the Corvette at this point, its heal tanking players with Docs while the collective group just clubs these guys with the high damage attacks. Carbineers are hosed because the insane state resists on mobs renders what little capability we have utterly useless and with all but two useless token carbines being energy damage, we're firing RIGHT into the strength of our enemy's defenses. Needless to say, less than 5 minutes into the 'vette, I'm not real impressed.

5) The "Super" Battle Droids. Unleash these b*stards on Tatooine, and you're krayt problems are forever resolved. Again, the whole fight with these jakonies is simply a stimfest on the TKMs while the rest of us prayed for forgiveness for whatever sins landed us in this jacked up pocket of Hell itself. The only thing that really made any impact was the flamethrower toter that was with us, and one of our BH's discovered belatedly that his LLC seemed to work well. Gotta love how the Engine Room featured four of these bastards.

Yeah Devs, ten people an handle this. Do us a favor, in the future, please base the difficulty of these dungeons on players without double and triple sliced gear on the live servers, m-kay?

6) The Unbuffables. Ok, this one really smoked me. You think with death being so commonplace on this thing, the parties involved might want to get themselves reset after a nasty run in. *buzzer* So sorry, thank you for playing. This was the biggest joke of the whole evening. Why bother cloning in there at all?

$.05 of free advice, when you die the first time, spare yourself the item decay and make your way to the escape pods, its just not worth being roadkill after your enhancements are gone.

7) Aggro-vation. I take that back, this one was the funny one. We managed to get an Uber-Storm-Of-The-Century Commando aggroed on aUbar-PwnXX0r-The-Smacktard-Powergam3r SooperBattle Droid and lo, we found an effective tank in there.

Final score 2 out of 5 stars.

What I did see of the ship was rendered well, space looked great, including the view of one of the Corellian planets off the bow of the ship. The battle droids also looked pretty sweet, and as adedicated pet commander, Ilook forward to see player commandable versions of them in the future. I will be sticking around for the SE just to give it a whirl.

HOWEVER. High end content is all well and good, but good f*cking god... You got some decent innovations, but you REALLY need to make these instanced for-this-party-only dungeons scale to the strength of the party. What turns on a powergamer is going to turn off a casual gamer who goes for this thing and becomes roadkill in a nanosecond.

Note: This was content only in terms of location. Otherwise, I stand by my opinion from yesterday's afteraction analysis. This was just pacification for the powergamers. Once again, casual players and less-than-ubar combat gods got f*cked.

I would say that it's a little too hard. Lowering the NPC`s resists OR increasing group size would help.

Witholding my comments until the 3rd of 4th run - hard to say what it is until it's not a suprise around every corner.

One thing about the corvette - I think it highlights how poor the overhead map system is. Perhaps this instanced corvette could have included a 3d modelled map, something that comes with the mission a nifty "blockade runner schematic" ?

3 levels, plus mobs overlayed - I found ctrl+m more confusing than helpful. it was easier to just remember turns and try 'heading back the way we came'.

Well, to all the narrow minded "challenge" idiots around here, let's take it a step further!

Remove all the chubas, gnorts, gorgs etc from the game and replace them with Kimogilas and Krayt Dragons.

That way, every new player can enjoy the thrilling CHALLENGE of SWG right from the start!

After all, if they get killed a lot they will have to start using their heads and they will feel oh-so-satisfied when they finally triumph!

I'd say "it's a good thing you guys don't work for SOE" but it's becoming apparent that they know as little about making a well-balanced game as any of you...

You know, as a crafter I can't do this place and I really don't care. The only thing I was looking forward to for the last couple month since it leaked out was the new AV21 vehicle. I had been stocking up materials getting ready to make them. What other scematic in the game requires a special part to make??? I suppose you wouldn't even try to do that to weaponsmiths or armorsmiths but its ok to screw over master artisans. So you come out with a vehicle that requires us to make them but we couldn't possibly have one for ourselves... I'm so mad I haven't even had a desire to log in.

My suggestion for the AV21... sideways!

I have to say, i loved it.

however, without a few jedis in my squad i seriously doubt that we could complete the missions. especially without the ability to repair most of the damage done in recloning to the ship. im looking foreward to trying a few of the other missions that are involved, and hope that maybe one of those is beatable. we did, for example, manage to free the prisoners a few times. however, we were running the assasination mission, and were unable to locate our target, and releasing prisoners was pretty pointless.

NOW- can you make a few more adventures like this one?

We had NO jedi in my group and I freaking loved it! We didn't make it past the battle droids but the playability was hands-down better than the geo caves.

My only qualm is the no wound healing and no buffing. It's pretty ridiculous to turn these features off as the rest of the game pretty much migrated that way. If you think they shouldn't be used in there then why allow them in the game at all? I think if wound healing and buffing were turned on people would have the perception that they have a chance past the first cloning. As it was we fought well as a group and had no deaths whatsoever until the battle droids. Then they cleaned the floor with us! LOL

I don't know how you'd do it, but I really wish there was a way for non-fighters to experience this mission. Maybe even something like a spy mission where the objective is to NOT get caught or shot. Good jobs devs! I enjoyed it immensely.

From what I heardthe scematic isone use with a special part required..

it may as well have been a box with a combine button...

It does nothing for crafters...
