Thread: Faction Insurance Day Pass: How much?

The idea of the price being less when you are declared is interesting "on paper", but in reality, its an easy player work around. All you have to do is declare (since you are standing in front of the recruiter anyway) and declare and then buy the Factional Insurance. Ultimately, the price has to be a low, flat fee for both. There isn't really a barrier to delcaring so it really just adds an extra click for the low price.
Since you remain overt for an hour after talking to a recruiter, I don't think it's as convenient as you think.

As an armorsmith, I WANT decay to stay. But i am not against PVP, far from that. That is why i say PVP insurance should only work on overts and not on Coverts. Anyway, Coverts generally don't die. And a covert who dies as a result of PvE (like when holofarming) wearing is wonderfull heavy advanced Composite suit and Uber Krayt FWG5 deserves decay.
Having decay removed for PvE is insane. And having no decay for a flat cheap rate is also unacceptable. I say 25 FP per item, overts only.

Do you guys realize how much money people save with this? This is a fantastic bargain.
For roughly 50-100 Faction Points, players get no armor decay and 1 time pay for insurance for 24 hours? No decay and one time insurance for PvP is tens and hundreds of thousands of credits cheaper.
In 2-3 hours of hard PvP, a player can spend 20-50K credits in insurance andlose 10-50% of their armors integrity. No insurance at all means this stays in the game...I certainly wouldnt like that.
Bargain? Hardly. Decay was a dumb idea and should be removed entirely. It is just about universally despised. It's well past time for the devs to suck it up and admitit was a mistake and just remove it rather than spewing forth these continued attempts to sell it to the playerbase. We are not stupid. If this level of arrogance is prevalent amonst the dev team, it's no surprise why SWG is in the deplorable state it's currently in.

You still fail to realize something. With the imperial crackdown coming there are many of us Covert crafters who are going to be forced into PvP (You tell me that after we get TEFd for contraband that Imperial players aren't going to come out of the woodwork for the easy kill?). Since we don't sit and run faction missions all day we only have 500-1000 FP. So in ten days we are screwed? I'd rather spend the hundreds of thousands of credits since I actually have that on hand.

You check in with your faction recruiter, purchase a day pass for faction combat (PvP and PvE), and for 24 hours, you will have no decay on your insured items.
How much do you think this should cost?
I highlighted it to make it more noticeable. YOu said PvP AND PvE. How about you restate it the way you said it in the beginning...
This is a PvP issue, Exclusively.
The "PvE" part is forwhen a Factioned NPC nails you- - NOT general PvE.
Thats a good point. It was a busy discussion. Ill add that to the initial post for clarity. Thanks
I thought you couldn't distinguish between a PvE and PvP death. That is what you stated in th Ooops I made a mistake post.
