I agree, The conversion rates are outragous.. People are going to quit due to bordom, at least grinding professions was kinda fun to play around with new skills you got.
The game is going to the dumpster pretty damn fast, almost a lost cause and a waste of money at this point, Something has to be done with the whole process to become Jedi initiate, damn didnt we do enuff work for playing the game out this last year and doing the content of the game to at least be rewarded something less frusterating??? Please Sony get it together I am really dissapointed in you at this point.
Remove experiance caps???
Lower Conversion rates??
Poor doctors have a cap at 80k experiance =( that means they have to run to the village about 50 times a day just to get rid of the capped experiance.

Yeah SOE dropped the ball big time on this one.. Yeah it should be hard to be jedi....but make the quests hard...not the Grinding is just insane. 30-1 that's just insane. The fun as gone out of this game.

End the grind!
Make the FS quests give FS boxes.
Luke didn't spend 5 years grinding farming XP and then call Yoda up and say, "Hey I just ground out100 million farming XP, do I qualify for jedi now?"
Luke gained experience as a FS and a jedi from doing tasks and quests that were FS related, NOT by doing the same things he had been doing for his first 18 years.
END THE GRIND!

I've played with the Force Sensitive experience conversion for a few days now and I have a few comments/suggestions.
1) Combat experience, for a TKA master anyway,is very, very easy to get. It's also easier to gain the FS experience because with combat skills you have a 900k cap, making trips to the village less necessary. So 900k per trip gets you 30k FS plus what you get for plain combat tacked on, and you don't even have to leave the planet to gain it. So using just unarmed combat experience it would be 2 trips for a combat or reflex novice, 6 trips for box 1, 8 trips for box 2, 11 trips for box 3, and 15 trips for box 4. For a total of about 42 trips. This seems right, difficult but not impossible.
2) Medical experience is capped at 80k. This means more frequent visits to the village, a 5k+ trip plus shuttle rides because to get 80k you have to go elsewhere to heal people. With the 10 to 1 ratio, each trip only gets you 8k. That's6 trips to get novice heightened senses, 21 to get box 1, 31 for 2, 44 for 3, and 57 for 4. For a total of around 159 trips. Absolutely rediculous in my opinion, and all for a tree that's pretty useless.
Scouting isan 8 to 1 ratio. My character has hunting IV which caps at 30k, but ifshe were a Rangerit would be much closer to the combat rate since if you harvest from the right things you can get scouting experience very quickly. Not sure why that was given a lower ratio than medical. And please, don't tell me it's because there's no risk involved in getting medical experience. First, that isn't necessarily true, and second there's little to no risk to me as a master TKA in getting combat experience either.
I can't figure out why it's set up to be so much more difficult to get senses experience than combat or reflex. If I were to be in a huge hurry to get initiate, I would just do six branches of combat and ignore the senses branch. I haven't tried the crafting branches, so I won't comment on their difficulty. But really this is pretty rediculous for the docs out there.
You need to take another look at the ratios. I think it's a neat idea to have different kinds of experience = different kinds of force experience BUT it's inequitable right now. It's much easier for combat professions to gain FS in their branches than it is for medical professions (and again I am only speaking about what I know first hand, it might be bad for entertainers and crafters too). Either raise the ratio or allow any experience to be transferable to any kind of FS experience.
Edited to add: I LOVE that I don't warp 500m away each time I get off my bike. Bravo on fixing that.
and
I put it in a ticket, but I'll post it here too. Force Sensitive skills do not stay on the skill monitor. Little annoying.

This is regarding a problem I am having with the Phase I crafting quest from Quharek, 'Fix the Sensor Array'...
I obtained all the resources, made all 4 components, and used the Calibrator on them. During the course of calibration, I was disconnected twice, causing two parts to fail - not a problem, I will simply craft two more and calibrate them again, I thought...
Because of the disconnects,I lost track of which parts were successful and which weren't, so I placed all four of them in the terminal and removed the two still-damaged components. As soon as I did this, I was AGAIN disconnected. Upon reconnecting, I found that every time I attempted to access either the base terminal or the analyzer, to download a new schematic, I received the message "You are too busy to do that." I have tried everything I could think of to no avail. I sent a ticket to customer service and was told that they were unable to intervene on these missions as a matter of policy, and that I should file a bug report, which would not be replied to of course...
I was told by another CSR that they do not yet have the ability to modify/correct errors in these quests, and I was also told that people DO attempt to dupe the CSRs into giving them things they are not entitled to.
The questions I have are:
1) Has anyone else had this happen to them, and if so what were they able to do to correct it?
2) Is it better policy in the interest of serving the customer to refuse to help anyone because of the possibility of duplicity, or to help those who need it and have an occasional mistake slip by?
3) Does this mean that I am going to lose my chance at the entire Phase I of the village, and thus have to wait another three weeks? It would appear so...
This is a shame - I have played SWG for 60+ hours a week for the past year - and to be told that nothing could be done to correct this is very frustrating. I have put up with all the bugs, delays, and fixes since I began playing because I enjoy the game, but I find myself in the situation that if this problem cannot be rectified I will be forced to cancel my account, which I really don't want to do. I sincerely hope someone reads this post and takes action to correct this issue - I would not like to see it befall others, and they also join the ranks of the dissatisfied.

Publish ten was meant to end grinding professions in order to achieve Jedi. However, once the lid is lifted off the new force sensitivequest based system, all that is left is insane grinding.
This insane amount ofgrinding will drive players awayfrom Star Wars Galaxies due to them having to repeat the same process over and over again.
Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't SWG meant to be agame and thatthe most important aspect of the game is that the players have fun whilst playing SWG? Not repeating a boring insane grind that is not fun to anyone.
As other people have stated the force sensitive quests should be quests whereby players get force sensitive boxes once they have completed the quests for the relevant box. These quests however, should increase in difficulty as the player moves up a force sensitive branch.
Thank you.

LOL you guys are so damn lucky.
I started my trials. I went on my first quest. The one where you're supposed to let the gungan keep his land.
I went back to the npc who gave me the quest. He tells my that my sypathy sickens him. Then BOOM a box appears telling my I failed the trials and have to wait until I qualify again to take them.
No restarts or anything.
So gripe all u want.
The old man will come both times.
I'm waiting 70 hrs for a reply to my ticket

I am totally confused now. Does anyone know if the groupings 1-4 for the village visit or old man have anything to do with the level of force sensitivity when using the /check command? For instance I have a toon I have been mostly playing on a server since August 03, never been a grinder, only mastered 3 professsions, donea lot of quests, poi visits etc. but only have a "faint" sense of the force.
On the other hand, I have been more recently developing another character, diff server, for a much more brief period of time, mastered only 2 professions, done some quests etc. and to my surprise upon checking was feeling a "surge" in the force (much closer to being glowy).
I figured if anything, the toon i have been playing longer would have been more force sensitive?

How is a 30-1 conversion rate fair?? I can understand trying to limit the amount of jedi on each server, but come one now lets be real. Figure it out...220 million regular xp is needed to even make initiate. Lower the damn conversion rates first off. Secondly how is it fair that people who use 3rd party macros, while they sleep or go to work/school, are given the credit of a holo grinder and are given there 5 free un locks. ITS NOT. I have done16 proffession with out touching a holo, and i luckly got 2 free unlocks. While other people can jsut sit ther eand run a macro that does there professions for them and get there jedi handed to them on a silver platter. While the rest of use go threw a gruling and worse grind that makes holo griding look like a childs game. I see more and more people quitting everyday do to those facts i have just stated, but SOE sees no problems with it. Whys this? Jump to lightspeed is coming, that will save our tail ends for this giant F*** up called publish 10. In my eyes Pub 10 should not havebeen released yet. It was a mistake to rush it. Devs should sit there and make a fresh toon, earn a few proffessions get all the badges needed to glow and sit there and grind 220 million regular xp and tell us how much fun they had. Average player is on 6 hours a day, atthat rate that poor person it will take them 9-10 months to even make initiate, how in the hell is that fair or fun. Seriously Devs give it a try sit there for 6 hours a day and grind your little butts off and then tell us how much fun your haveing and then relize you rushed this pub and it needs to be changed.......... and fast.

Great job! i like the new system. i think if people really cared about jedi, they wouldent mind the wait. im fine with it. and for the people who are some other professions they dont want to give up for jedi, thats the idea. your character is supposed to be ONLY jedi or, other professions. jedi is a commitment. if you want a jedi, make one on another server! and personally, i think its unfair of alot of people to harass the dev team for their hard work just because its an inconviniance to you. they did everything how they thought it should be done, and if you dont like it, tough. not their fault. give them a break and relax, its a game. there are a few things that are frustrating (spawns in themeparks) but thats just a minor setback... ive gotten glowy and im gonna spend however long it takes waiting for this guy to show... ive decided to sit my ass down and wait and not move, talk to friends, and relax... things will sort themselves out in time... and if its such a problem, leave the game, there will be 5 more people to replace you when you leave.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Its not just the new system, It is the client side crashs, the breaking of medical proffessions the requirement of a grind in a quest based system, something the new system was supposed to remove...
The could have left parts of the old system like getting a padawan rather then forceing people to change thier present character which was 90% of the reason people did not holo grind in the first place, either they could not change proffessions like a lot of mayors of player run citys.
And incase you have not figured it out, there are not 5 replacements for every one leaving the game.
The 2 week free trials are a sign the game is lossing players faster then they are being replaced.

I think the jedi system is pretty cool, i like the idea of intractive roleplaying quests and ranking up. AlthoughIhate grinding and i am one of the slowest grinders in the world ( thus making me want to quit going jedi), i will just take it one day at a time. One possiably is that i might just get the 6 rows in force sensitve/padawan and continue with a melee profession. The thing i do not like are the amazing rewards like +2k health for 2 hours every three days and +900 mind every 96 hours. They are cool, but I believe that will just separte the best combat professions from the worst thus creating a worse combat imbalance.
And does anyone know when you get Jedi Initiate?
