Thread: Publish 10 Feedback, “The Jedi Trials”: Live Issues and Open Discussion
I will use myself as a brief example of my frustrations (call it selfish). I have played SWG since launch, in fact I was one of the few that actually got on the servers on day one. I made my toon into a trando because I wanted the unarmed mods, TKM was my goal. After about a month and a half of playing I finally achieved that goal, to be fair lets say that happened in August. Since mastering TK I have never once dropped a skill in it. So for over a year I have been a stead fast TKM, sure I could have dropped it to hologrind, but thats not fun to me.
I instead CHOOSE to play the game. Helping my guild, helping in the creation of our player city, helping new players, and contributed to the server community. While Jedi had always been a cool thought, I was never willing to sacrifice the reasons I play the game. Now that there is a quest based why of becoming Jedi I am going to do it, at least try to do it until I get bored.
Since I have been a TKM for a long time, I indeed met my xp cap shorty after mastering TK. While I am sure I lost millions, upon millions of xp; xp which now would be priceless. I think it would be fair to have some kind of system to reward people that held a profession for a long period of time. Again maybe I am being selfish, perhaps a little lazy too. I am simply fed up with people who contribute the most to the server being left out to dry. I hope at some point there will be rewards (from the devs) to these players.
What I want to know is, Could a system like this become availible? Would it be fair to give free branches to people that have played for a long time? Maybe I am half-cocked but your input would be wonderful.

PS: Couldn't decide really where to post this, so if you see it in more then one place don't flame me for THAT reason.
could it be that this whole jedi grinding is killing everyting else on the servers. i think the game is changing into an ego shooter, and a very bad one. it is kind of solo grinding, and it seems like there is no more other interesting stuff in this game.
for me it seems like the developpers timed this updated to give us something to do until JtL will be launched, and then, when we are all jedis, and the servers are getting more and more borring, we should buy JtL.
i would have prefered if there would be sth to make the game interesting again. it should not have been much content (there will be guides after 2 days anayway, which makes the whole thing boring again). but how would it be to rethink the pvp system, or rethink the resistance on the armors.
force people in some way to work together, to interacte, force them to find the fun in mmorp.
so, reduce the armor resistence to 50%, and make all ppl who actually attack other ppl getting an immediate buff. example: if i am unbuffed, and attacking a player, i should get a +2000 doc buff, and a +1000 entertainer buff. if i am buffed over those 2000/1000 and attacking players, my buffs should be reduced.
this would make pvp a lot more active, because we dont need to wait before starting the fights, and if we see some fighting going on, we can immediately joining in.
these are my ideas on which the developpers should concentrate. this jedi trials should be taken less important. make the enemies impossible hard, but stop this grinding. ppl dont do anything else anymore.
crafting experience required for FS skills is absurdly high considering how much time/cost crafters have to dump into making things by hand in comparison to combat classes progression thru the force sensitive skilltrees..
crafters have to expend time/resources to gain skill and recieve no reward for their experience gained.. combat professions expend time/decay and recieve monetary compensation in the form of 'mission payouts'
combat prof's can max their combat XP in a solid day of playing (or s single buff session if they only have 1 combat porf) meanwhile a master crafter would take at least 3? days to max not to mention all the wasted resources on doing so..
suggestion: re-implement partial crafting XP for items produced in factories.. and lower crafting XP reequirements for FS skills..
this way EVERYONE gets rewarded for 'just playing' and the crafting profession's aren't forced into 'grinding out practice mode singles' which seems VERY lopsided
