Right off I want to point out that my posting on the SWG boards has been limited to only a few threads. Mainly because my questions are answered with a quick search. However, I am looking for peoples opinion about free branches for FS from Holo grinding. While I agree that hologrinders should be compensated, I don't think compensation should be limited to just them.

I will use myself as a brief example of my frustrations (call it selfish). I have played SWG since launch, in fact I was one of the few that actually got on the servers on day one. I made my toon into a trando because I wanted the unarmed mods, TKM was my goal. After about a month and a half of playing I finally achieved that goal, to be fair lets say that happened in August. Since mastering TK I have never once dropped a skill in it. So for over a year I have been a stead fast TKM, sure I could have dropped it to hologrind, but thats not fun to me.

I instead CHOOSE to play the game. Helping my guild, helping in the creation of our player city, helping new players, and contributed to the server community. While Jedi had always been a cool thought, I was never willing to sacrifice the reasons I play the game. Now that there is a quest based why of becoming Jedi I am going to do it, at least try to do it until I get bored.

Since I have been a TKM for a long time, I indeed met my xp cap shorty after mastering TK. While I am sure I lost millions, upon millions of xp; xp which now would be priceless. I think it would be fair to have some kind of system to reward people that held a profession for a long period of time. Again maybe I am being selfish, perhaps a little lazy too. I am simply fed up with people who contribute the most to the server being left out to dry. I hope at some point there will be rewards (from the devs) to these players.

What I want to know is, Could a system like this become availible? Would it be fair to give free branches to people that have played for a long time? Maybe I am half-cocked but your input would be wonderful.

as this should be a discussion, i wanna start one.

could it be that this whole jedi grinding is killing everyting else on the servers. i think the game is changing into an ego shooter, and a very bad one. it is kind of solo grinding, and it seems like there is no more other interesting stuff in this game.
for me it seems like the developpers timed this updated to give us something to do until JtL will be launched, and then, when we are all jedis, and the servers are getting more and more borring, we should buy JtL.

i would have prefered if there would be sth to make the game interesting again. it should not have been much content (there will be guides after 2 days anayway, which makes the whole thing boring again). but how would it be to rethink the pvp system, or rethink the resistance on the armors.

force people in some way to work together, to interacte, force them to find the fun in mmorp.

so, reduce the armor resistence to 50%, and make all ppl who actually attack other ppl getting an immediate buff. example: if i am unbuffed, and attacking a player, i should get a +2000 doc buff, and a +1000 entertainer buff. if i am buffed over those 2000/1000 and attacking players, my buffs should be reduced.

this would make pvp a lot more active, because we dont need to wait before starting the fights, and if we see some fighting going on, we can immediately joining in.

these are my ideas on which the developpers should concentrate. this jedi trials should be taken less important. make the enemies impossible hard, but stop this grinding. ppl dont do anything else anymore.

There is an awful bug when trying to place harvesters. Once you click to place a harvester you cannot cancel it. You place your harvester or you have to close the application to get out.

Medical Aid quest in the village.. cannot be completed by a master medic or master combat medic without help from a master doc.. they just don't have the experimentation points

crafting experience required for FS skills is absurdly high considering how much time/cost crafters have to dump into making things by hand in comparison to combat classes progression thru the force sensitive skilltrees..

crafters have to expend time/resources to gain skill and recieve no reward for their experience gained.. combat professions expend time/decay and recieve monetary compensation in the form of 'mission payouts'

combat prof's can max their combat XP in a solid day of playing (or s single buff session if they only have 1 combat porf) meanwhile a master crafter would take at least 3? days to max not to mention all the wasted resources on doing so..

suggestion: re-implement partial crafting XP for items produced in factories.. and lower crafting XP reequirements for FS skills..

this way EVERYONE gets rewarded for 'just playing' and the crafting profession's aren't forced into 'grinding out practice mode singles' which seems VERY lopsided

The primary weakness of a troll is supposed to be fire..
So why the hell are they always getting themselves into flame wars??

To the devs,

I've been playing this game since release and like many other players (and posts it seems) I'm completely disheartened by how you are "rewarding" those holo grinders out there. I personally did 9 professions, all the pois, imp/reb/jabba/nyms themeparks, and warren. The only thing I recieved was "glowing" ...Not a single bit of holo credit

I would like to point this out:

Do you really think it's fair that people who recieved a 1.2 million force credit freebie row for AFK macro'ing their holos is right?

A player recieving a holo for any entertainer category (save image designer) just put on an afk dance/music macro with an autojoin and grinded away the xp while they slept. On top of that they are "rewarded" with a free rowofFS points. Do you honestly think it's right that players that didn't even play the game recieved THAT much xp for free for just letting a macro run? Is it right that those individuals are getting a free row of xp that doesn't NEARLY add up to the time it would take to master any entertainer profession?

Players once finding out how things were unlocked did these professions NOT playing the game and they were rewarded for doing so?

What about the people that have been playing this game and enjoying it for the fun since its release...hoping to one day become jedi? They're stuck with this enormous grind to even finish off one row in FS xp with not a single ounce of rewards from the devs. I've done professions, given them up...did something else...then went back and mastered those same 3 professions again because of how fun they were in the first place but is any credit for that counted? Absolutely not.

Where are the rewards for us veterans that have been playing since release and felt that hologrinding was wrong from the start but still did our share of professions. We go to the village and see kids who got a first holo of brawler or scout getting an ENTIRE free row of XP while we get nothing? Stop and ask yourself if you really think that's right.

SOLUTION:

Give credit for professions that were done and base the amount of XP on the amount of time that profession would take and how difficult it is to complete.

for example. A profession like Bio Engineer should get an extreme amount of xp for the length of time and complexity of the profession...while a profession like scout should geta minimal amount.

Put a cap on how many professions you could use for credit in force xp. Choose the hardest 5 professions that were done and just give xp for those. ...this is for those people that did 20 or so professions ...at this stage in the game you're going to be unlocking relatively soon anyway.

Do something right for EVERYONE Devs and don't overlook the people that have been playing since release. Rewarding those that didn't even play the game is ridiculous.

i dont mean to sound mad, but i believe that the conversion for exp is out reach for me. i have maxed exp 6 times and i still have no skill tree boxes yet. it should be a little easier then get harder as you go. i am getting really frustrated trying to become a jedi so that i can have fun playing the game. so far im not having fun anymore. one of the reasons i started to play this game is to relax and have some fun. now playing and having fun doing it is impossible. 1/ 30 ratio is a bit far fetched i think. sorry to sound mad but this is really frustrating.

Bugs with end padawan initiate trial.

- mission spawns sith camps in player cities

- more than 1 mellichae at camp

- when more than 1 mellichae, if1 mellichae is killed, second despawned, do not pass trial

- mellichae despawns in middle of combat

- power crystal STUCK inside building

- no way to abort mission or get it to respawn in a different spot

- physically impossible to play jedi even tho unlocked post 9, and was stated would recieve an "immediate visit" which took 3 days, another 1 day for sith, 2 more days for return of old man, and now who knows how long to get past end trial.

They realy should do something its inpossible to get to initiate it mill take 220 mill regular xp to get to initiate

or they shoudl lower the convert rate

or they should put up special mission terminals at the village

or they should lower the xp from the fs trees to lvl faster
