now if the dojos were for 1 on 1 battles between real people, that would be great.

I noticed some of the posters that got over 100 posts received a vet avacon. I don't know if this is possible but could you reward some of us pre-beta board posters and very early beta testerswith a special avacon like a dark jedi with glowing red eyes. Or maybe a jedi with force lightningbeing flungoutward. Not sure if you have records of us on file as board posters or not, it just would be a nice thank you and a way for me to identify other posters that were part of those old boards.

Glad to see the game doing so well. Miss the old board though, we had some great discussions. Wish some of those people were still around to hear their crazy ideas. Miss Holocron, miss hearing from Rogue 5 more often, miss the PvP thread discussions andmiss those crazy outcast discussions of lawless towns. Wish some of that history on that board survived.

Feel sort of forgotten now that the game is out, just a very small voice in a sea of voices, it wasn't always like that though.

*cheers to the good old times*

Why is it not possible, do buy in Bestine a ticket for Yavin 4? its annoying and useless to make a stop on corellia. Just to load on corellia to buy a ticket makes no sense. And im sure, not only the player would be happy - the servers too.

Sometimes i use 30 minutes for travelling vom bestine to yavin 4. But 27 minutes of this 30 minutes, im waiting on a shuttle. And there is no RP at starports.

I would like to have the option to hide my online/offline status in order to play just solo and nobody sees that im on. Is there something like that in planning?

One thing for me that is soooo agrivating is crafting, when I go to make a simple camp with my portable crafting tool in the field I just shudder before I start. For the love of me I cant figure out why all those fricken are you sure etc screens pop up, ya I'm sure or I wouldnt have initiated the crafting sequence. Plz Plz someone make that system simpliar and faster.

Now a silly question but why is all the water in the game wasted space, wasnt critters in the movies that only lived in the water ? Where are they in game ?

Just a Question here since I can't find a better fitting place:

What are you planning to do about the upcoming Jedi-boom?
I mean atm there's alot of people coming to the game
And MANY wants to be Jedi.. And all those WILL be Jedis one day if the Holo thingy works this easy
A few things I thought about with this issue is for example:
Permadeath, bring permadeath to the point that you might even lose your FSCS if u die to much. Removing Permadeath just isn't a good thing, I tell you that.
FSCS only, when getting your FSCS you should REMOVE the other slot so there's still just a One-char server, just for the fact that people now have to choose,
normal char or Jedi
And I'm sure there's a lot of other even better things on the wall
But afaik there must be a change to it all before the big boom. Ty

Taken from my post in the kauri forums

"It had been awhile since I read Courtship of Princess Leia. But I loved Dathomir. The whole planet was awesome to me. When I heard it would be in SWG, it was yet more reason to buy the game. I think I was the first person to go to Dathomir on Kauri server when the game started.
SWG Dathomir is great. Very dark and forboding. Of all the adventure planets SWG Dathomir is the most evil in appearence. But something wasnt right from what I remembered. So I read Courtship again. Here are a few differences that really shown through and made me wonder how come they were notadded.

Rancors - EU Dathomir rancors are intelligent. They arent animal intelligence. They talk to each other. Singing Mountain Clan Rancors wear armor. Scraps and shreds of other armor such as stormtrooper plates and chain mail. Nightsisters dont use rancors because the rancors always run from them. Seems the rancors arent really evil. Lastly SMC Rancors use weapons. Nets, clubs, and boulders.

Nightsisters - Courtship happens 4 years after ROTJ. The Nightsisters branched off from the SMC 7 years prior to the book. So 3 years before ROTJ. Nightsisters were the evil version of the SMC. They actually control the Imperial Prison, working with the Imperials at the prison and could be seen on patrol with stormtroopers.

Empire and Imperial Prison - The Emperor had blocked all travel to and from the planet. So scared of the Nightsisters, he stranded the staff of the prison without a means of escape and even set up a blockade of the planet to prevent anyone from coming or going. The prison itself looks far different in EU Dathomir then its warped mirror image in SWG. The Nightsister stronghold is actually in the prison.

Tarpits and the Jedi Academy - The Jedi Academy of the Old Republic is on Dathomir. Crash landed in the tarpits. It was in fact a ship that travelled from planet to planet. It doesnt exist in SWG.

Animals - Alot of animals in the EU Dathomir are MIA. There is one that feeds on rancors. Some were described very well. I would have loved to see these animals added.

All in all the SWG Dathomir is a great place to explore and hunt but it pales dramatically in comparison to the EU Dathomir. Somethings we know cant be put in. Like the Imperial embargo. If they put that in then the planet would cease to be. Here are some things they should do to make Dathomir more imposing, dangerous, and downright nasty.

Increase the ticket cost to get there. Extreme amounts. Say 10000 credits one way. This would give theidea of having to blast past a blockade maybe, hence the high cost to get there.

Give SMC rancors armor and primitive weapons. Raise their armor value and allow them more damage. They should be far tougher. Also add in SMC using rancors as mounts. Give the SMC rancors a long range attack as well of throwing boulders. Having to fight a Rancor is tough. SMC Rancors should be far tougher as they have been taught by the SMC to fight better. With a SMC sitting on top of one throwing force spells and using a force pike it would be even worse.

Add the animal that hunts rancors. Something huge. There is no real description. Just a name. It would be to Dathomir what the krayt is to tatooine or the gorax is to endor. A rare spawn high in a mountinous area. Huge HAM of 300k.

Give Nightsisters control of some of the Imperials. I would love to see a group of STs with a NS leading them. Of course they would have to aggro on Imp players as well.

With the coming of the FSCS quests how about adding a part into it that involves the Jedi Academy? Maybe having to find it.

Just a few ideas I have been coming up with while reading Courtship. If you havent read it or its been awhile I strongly suggest you take time to check it out. I wish the DEVs would let me help redesign Dathomir if they chose too. I would have that planet so evil and dark it would make Yavin IV and Endor together look like a sunday picnic."

There'ssomething that's been bugging me for a while that I think I've finally put myfinger on. I'd like to hear what other people think about it.

I've playeda numberof the PC games set in the Star Wars universe. In particular I enjoyed the FPS games: Dark Forces, DF II: Jedi Knight, DF II: Jedi Knight: Mysteries of the Sith, and Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast (andI'll probably try Jedi Academy once the retailprice drops below $50).

I've already replayed all these a number of times because they're so much fun. Recently Icaught myselfconsidering going backto play themone more time(especially Jedi Knight, which featured some of the best level design in any FPS).But this timeit occured to me to ask myself, "Why? Why do I want to spend my precious time replaying an old game Yet Again when there's this amazing MMORPG I stillhaven't fully explored?"

In other words, what do the old FPS Star Wars games offer that SWG doesn't? And is there a lesson there for SWG?(I liked the space shooters X-Wing and TIE Fighter, too, but I'll wait for the Space Expansion before I start comparing them to SWG. )

There are a number of possiblereasons, but I'd like to focus on one in particular. I haven't played SWG from a combat-only perspective -- I've done the crafter thing since SWGwas released -- so I haven't been to most of the dungeons or battlefields or othercombat-specific places. So maybe someone who has beento these placescan tell me: Are they more "industrial" than the rest of SWG?

All I see as a crafter are outdoor environments and the occasional home or starportinterior... but the Star Wars movies and FPS games arerich withindustrial-type interiors. Where are the factories? Where are the complex, high-tech manufacturing facilities? Where are the starship interiors? Where are the space stations and orbital defense installations? Why is it that I spend virtually all my playing time looking at dirt and trees instead of at walls of metal and plastic and glass?

Anybody?

I cant seem to find a thread in the *In Development* forum to ask this. Why havent you placed the combat balances you are working on in the In Development? Isnt that what that forum is for? Would it really hurt to let us know what you are thinking about in this huge combat revamp so you can start to get some ideas from us? Also, this would alleviate the vague answers some of the combat classes have gotten on their Top 10 questions. I feel that this would help your communication efforts tremendously, as anything you post there would be the ideas on what you are working on, and we would all know and understand that none of that would be set in stone, since it would be *in development*.

NPC Cities Revamp Idea

Allow shops and buildings to be rented out to players. In order to accomplish this use a monthly bid at the local npc political center. Players can bid a certain amount of credits to get a local shop for 30 days. Venders and a few items can be added to the locations based on whatever the devs feel is okay.

Bidding starts for the next month as soon as winner is declared. So everyone has 30 days to prep. On popular planets this will probably be competitive and guilds might want to show off their shop signs, especially merchant style guilds. While on less populated planets smaller groups or solo players might have a chance to own their piece of official star wars.

Positives

  • Money sink directly out of economy, possibly very large sink as well.

  • Allows players to populate towns.

  • Players can sell high end items in well known locations.

  • Owning a place near known Star Wars lore locations is fun!

  • Cities are more than just eye candy and more like player cities.

  • Can add local politicsto NPC cities where players can run for mayor and maybe even planetary governor adding spice and real politics to the game that has meaning.

Negatives

  • Fierce competition – But you guys get the money sink.

  • Development time.

  • May strain player run cities from receiving visitors – big maybe.
