Thread: Friday Feature Errata... Part 2...

I would like to explain another reason why I HATE decay on death.
I've been running the Jabba missions. Several of the mission rewards are clothing items.
Because some brilliant person at SOE decided our stuff must decay when we die, every single one of my mission rewards has a reduced condition.
So what? They're trivial mission rewards. What's the big deal? Well, mission rewards have become a quest in and of themselves. There are tons of reward collectors. While trivial, it'd be nice to not dictate that our stuff decays when we die, thereby reducing the numbers on our swag.
Trivial to some, but important to me.
store your trophy items from quest in your home. i understand, i have been a trophy collector in other games
I think that regular decay like a certain percentage over time kinda thing would be cool, but we lose enough in pvp that it is. . why should we lose all of our armor. . .plus you guys are going to lose ALOT of accounts over this, i already know 30 people that are quiting and if they quit. . . the game is going to suck BIG time. . . and i don't think insurace is too expensive. . . it's not really that bad. . . but maybe they could make it to where you have to get insurance every few deaths or something like that. . . or just leave decay in for when you DON"T insure. . . i dunno, just a few ideas

I still say remove the 1% item decay on insured items. I understand why you have it, but people have left this game over it. At the very least remove it from items like weapons and armor which decay naturally anyway.
I understand the reason is to keep new items circulating in the economy, but as it is we can store items in a house or bank to avoid decay on them. Why not just limit the decay to equipped items.
Insurance is way too expensive and death is still far too common. If you are going to keep item decay, why not make it so that NPCs and creatures deathblow far less then they do.
To me it is enough of a penalty to be sent all the way back to the clone center after you die. You don't know how fustrating it is to have to make it back to where you were.
just want to insert my 2 cents here, although from what i've read on these forums, that doesnt really matter in terms of actual action by SOE, it makes mefeel better ![]()
I was looking forward to participating in the GCW. I cannot afford to replace armor and weapons weekly. plain and simple. So... since the monthly updates occurr whenever, I've no idea when i'll be able to look forward to participating in the one unique feature of this game.. the star wars GCW. without that it might as well be Anarchy Online!

Uhg... I dunno why I even post my opinions here anymore. Nobody but TH has the potential to see it, and considering he's the only one who reads the forums, chances are he won't see it anyway.

FORGET ABOUT THE GALGAMEKS?!?!?!?!?!?!
I seriously just can't believe they are doing this..... and are so out of touch with the game communities that they don't realize that armorsmiths are so swamped they can't keep up with orders AT ALL.... I understand the need to keep things moving through the markets, but armor decays from taking hits anyways..... as it is, repair tools are bunked, and what is the point on experimenting for extra condition points when it's a PERCENTAGE DROP. you always lose 1/100th of your armor, no matter what....
Maybe they could change it to a 250 condition drop every time you die.... or whatever number they decide fits best.... At least then maybe you could get 500 deaths out of a good suit before it becomes junk......
Let me help you out with a few things here first.

Do we lie to you? No. Do we tell you information that changes? Absolutely.
But things are going to change. If you want more information, you have to be prepared for that information to change. That is the very nature of MMOG's."""""
FYI
Not sure if you figured this out yet. We are players; yes we are also the "Customers". And when you tell your customers you’re going to do something, should they not expect you to do what you said you were going to do?
If you are going to feed us one bit of information and change it at later time. Try not doing so often. You’re losing credibility with your customers. "There has to be trust between the customers and management"
This one is for TH
Quote- Here is the important thing. There is a huge community for this game. Roughly 20-25% of the game community comes by the boards and roughly 10-15% post regularly.
*inserts sap and corn*
If we make this a nicer place to be, more and more people come to the forums and get involved, conversations become more interesting and stimulating. We really can work through this to make this the most fun game possible and the best forums, but it takes time and cooperation.
The problem isn’t about this being a nicer place. It’s most likely the lack of reliable information.
And why do 20-25% of the community come here and why do 10-15% only post of that 25%, maybe because they are so pissed off by the time they are done reading the posts that they don’t even want to waste there time replying.
Example: Posting incomplete information. The Jedi changes. I mean what does reward the people currently holo grinding mean? All that does is upset people and leave it to there imaginations.
I would suggest only posting when you have complete "correct and reliable" information to post.
This game is less than a year old, yet you have made more changes and modification to this than I have ever seen done to any other I have played.
Some good, some bad. I don’t think it’s so much the changes that are upsetting some of us, it’s that we just start getting set and into the game, then WHAM a post about massive re-writes of the game.
Seriously, Let us play the game for awhile. It upsets people when they work hard towards a goal and right before they reach their goal is yanked out from in front of them.
Example: I have been working hard towards chef. Getting pretty close to mastering it. And as I am beginning to reach the top of a decent working profession, wham REVAMP.
Meanwhile 1000's of droid engineers still wait for there profession to be finished.
This was fine before launch; this was fine in beta, maybe even ok in the first month or two of release. This type of business practice is unacceptable at this point. This game needs stability.
Yes, remove the death decay.
To balance this removal, you should multiply by 2 the decay due to fight damages on armors and also make repair tools worth them.
It seems like a waste of time replying to threads like this...
On one hand the devs tell us they want our feedback...
Threads like this tell us "if we don't want to hear what you are saying, thats our option also".
My grandparents used to say "you can't have your cake and eat it too". I suppose these old ideas don't apply anymore.
