this was the only good change I encountered in this publish to be honest. the others had potential, but nothing that really got me excited, and I've got a master DE. (it was more of a hassle than a blessing to be honest). The only thing I wasn't thrilled with is the timer stopping if combat stops, not a big deal for my CH since he's pistoleer too and can handle himself usually. But it was a major issue for my crafter, who uses his vehicle to get AWAY, not having any combat skills at all. I can understand pets and such, griefing issues and all. But vehicles? what's the person gonna do, challenge them to a duel, then hop on his speeder and get shot to **** since he can't shoot back? lol. If they stayed out when you wanted them to, it'd be great. But if my ride stores out in the middle of nowhere while checking a harvester, and something aggros on me, I'm STILL dead, my tools and crap STILL decay, and this change did absolutely zip except get me killed. Good change. Not great, but good. At least it's not the slap in the face the Droid Invasion turned out to be.

No I don't have a freakin sig. Just make something up and pretend it's here man. woman. umm...Whatever.

Tempest works fine. Normal delay, got cancel a couple times by combat, no problems at all.

Jedi will never be a starting profession...Looted items and quest items will never be better then crafted items, this is not a loot based game...CH will return shortly...CH and BE will not be back in game...Rangers are getting their revamp next!...The stealth system will not be changing in the spy expertise...Need any more examples of things the devs said that did not hold true?

I say to heck with scouts and rangers, this is the best change to the game yet! This fix should have been made when mounts became available.

Jalen,
yes, the need for camps just dropped a lot. But I'm one of the people who dropped all scout skills just now, and I need hides from time to time. I guess, now that I can't harvest them myself anymore, I have to buy them from you (well not exactly you, but somebody with harvesting skills).
I don't think it will hurt scoute or ranger.

I'm going to be in the minority but personally I think this is a poor excuse to fix an issue that obviously the development couldn't track down: poofing vehicles. There was a reason why you couldn't pull vehicles/pets outside of a city or your residence. I am with everyone else in that getting off my vehicle and having it poof 5k from the nearest city sucked but I still don't think that this was a good idea. I hope that one day in the future this is recalled after someone finds the vehicle poofing bug althought I'll doubt we'll ever see it since the issue is "fixed".

I'm not so concerned about the scout profession being nerfed by this, in fact I agree with another poster in that this helps the scouts/rangers to a degree because not just anyone is going to be able to get meat anymore since many people will blindly drop scout to free up 15 skill points. But we're basicly "rewarding" people who didn't plan ahead for their careless excursion into the wildnerness. This is going to negatively impact PvP (people will flee) and I can see some sort of abuses with PvE. This new feature needs to be nerf'd.

As a Bounty Hunter who was always too lazy to pre-make my camps or even buy pre-made camps, and therfore had to craft each one individually when I needed one, I LOVE this new feature.

I explained to a bh friend of mine that this was not a Scout nerf.

He said it was because it made the Survival line even more useless.

But I haven't made anything beyond a basic camp since I got Survival IV back in August.

So the line is pretty useless anyways, since any novice can make a basic camp.

This is really nice for artisans who do harvester runs and don't have enough skill points for Scout.

My swoop autostored outiside of a city, so I just clicked "generate" in my datapad, waited 15 seconds and voila! It was there.

Really nice.

(Speaking of Scout, I'd really love to not have to be a Master Scout to be a Bounty Hunter. I think it's a complete waste of skill points, but I put up with it since that's the only way I can be the profession I most wanted to be more than a year before the game even came out.)

I'm not allowed to edit on dev created threads, for some reason, so I couldn't just tack this on without making a completely different post.

Thanks a lot TH for your hard work in pushing this feature through.

People have probably forgotten the gazillion post thread about this, and how you had to play devils advocate and asked us to do soas well, at the same time you apparently worked really hard behind closed doors to advocate this change for us, even bringing it all the way up to Holocron / Raph Koster, Creative Director for all of SOE.

It must have been a chore for you to make it so we had one less chore we had to do in the game.

Also the fact that it was changed pretty close to the last minute to allow camps to get rid of the 15 second delay was a nice touchfor Scouts, and shows the finesse that the devs are learning about how to deal with the community.

Heh, the choice now is 15 skill points for Novice Scout or 15 seconds without.

Thanks again, Thunderheart.

Sucks that Scouts & Rangers have no use for pulling out their camps, but I love this feature! No more having my swoopbike go Poof! while Im shopping.

very convenient feature. The only problem is that it makes Scout survival skill useless.

great TH now can we go back to the no 15 sec delay like it was originally?
It's better than needing a camp but still waiting for a justfication of the 15 sec delay.

If scout camps are useless now that you don't need them for a vehicle or pet, the answer is not to bring back the restriction but to make them useful.
