Medic missions also don't work for me, nor do the Scout missions once I get to "make a tent." I can't even get past the warning box on Medic, which says you might want to have Artisan to be a Medic.

However, the Artisan and Marksman missions worked great. This is a fantastic idea and is very well-implemented. I love the "rental" speeder, and the payouts are quite decent.

Oh, finally, how do I use the cloning deed? Entered a player city cloning center and there wasn't a "Use" option on the deed, so I used the terminal, which charged me 1000 credits .

Even a veteran player will be able to play through the New User Experience by picking up a starting skill. The system isn't limited to new accounts. You will receive a helper droid at that time you train in a starting skill box and be given the option to go through the directed experience for that skill.

do we get to keep it?

Yes, I believe you can keep your helper droid for as long as you like.

Entertainer quest is also bugged - I can get up to the 5th quest, where it asks you to enter into either a theater or a cantina. Tried both - the New Unity theater (player city) and the cantina in Theed. Neither triggered any events to advanced past this quest.

Hmm, I was able to advance past that by entering Bestine cantina. Unfortunately there weren't 7 people around to entertain so I could not complete the final (presumably) entertainer newb quest.

I was finally able to get past the 3 hide, 3 bone scout mission with today's patch. However, now the scout missions get hung up on deploying a camp.

I don't have any way to test this since I don't have an advanced character on Test Center, but has anyone tried to see what happens when you already have 5 droids in your datapad and you take a novice profession? Does the Helper Droid not show up? Does it boot one out of your datapad? Does it not count against your 5 max droids? Inquiring minds want to know!...

I'm not sure if this is intentional or not, but my helper droid didn't show up on my radar until I clicked on him.

I just did the marksman new player experience...

I selected i wanted to use a rifle and then i ran out and killed my first creature and got my bonus experience points - pistol xp, because i forgot to switch weapons.

Though luck? I guess so, but really it might be a good idea makingthe droid ask, if you have changed preferences regarding your weapon before awarding xp for the equipped/wrong weapon?

Its a bit annoying you only get one shot, if you fail... well then you loose your reward, thats not a proper way to treat new players.

I really wanted to do rifles and not pistols, but now i didnt have a chance of getting the xp

On that note i tried surrendering the marksman profession in the hope that i could do it again, but before i picked it up again i tried to,check if the marksman tutorial was still showing on the droid.

It wasnt (good!)... however if i clicked the top-level radial menu option it still started the marksman tutorial (kinda bad?)...

Dear god... dont start em in Coronet on Chilastra unless you want them to quit right away... With all the afk Spammers there the FPS is so bad they will think the game is laggy and unstable... Heck, Im a pretty hardcore SWG player, and I WANT to quit everytime I have to through that city...

I like the idea of the "New Player Experience" but forcing new players to start in Theed or Coronet isn't a such a great idea. There are too many players there, I understand wanting to have veteranplayers around new players when they log in but I don't think it's a good idea for new players to be hit with the lag they'll face in those cities.

Perhaps instead of being able to pick from the 5 starting planets as you can now it could simply be limited to Naboo, Corellia and Tatooine. If not that then at least give more selection such as Theed, Keren, and Moenia for Naboo, Tyrena and Coronet for Corellia and Bestine andMos Espa or Anchorheadfor Tatooine.

Great! seriously, naboo and coronet are great planets for newbies.

Can we request that the difficulty and quantity of higher level mobs be increased on Tat again?

I used to have dragonnets, Tuskens and Krayts spawning near my chosen home (1km outside wayfar) yet with the newbie zones, and encroachment on spawns that player cities have caused, It's become quite boring. Since Tat will no longer be an actual starting planet, please increase the difficulty level by increasing the aggressive mob spawns, bring the krayts back to their dominance and destruction whenever and wherever they may spawn. If this means a crafter gets eaten once a week or so...so be it. Give us higher level players a reason to spend time at home, rather than off world running around in the dark cliffs of dathomir.

The dev team would never allow any kind of imbalance so that one group of people would "cut swaths" through crowds of people.

Not trying to be off-topic here, this is just aside note to my earlier post. If you really want to have people start in Theed and Coronet the Starport routes should be direct as was discussed before.

I know alot of the people on the boards said they like indirect routes (for whatever crazy reason) but I haven't talked to a single person IN GAME thatlikes the indirect routes.

TH, please quit using HTML in your posts, you are impossible to quote!

That said, you really should consider setting aside a space close to Theed and Coronet for the newbie quests and channel them to the major cities instead of starting them at the spaceports. My machine is above the recommeded specs on the box (I typed em the first time, but you can go look at my spec files the game asks for - I'm not retyping them) and I drop to 1 FPS and watch a slide show for several minutes whenever I walk to or fly in to Theed or Coronet on Bria and Radiant. If that is Joe Gamer's first experience in Galaxies you'll get a lot of returns and canceled accounts because they'll think the whole game is like that (or at the very least a lot of grief for CS to deal with from the newbies).

I strongly disagree with the limited choice of starting planets. To me, and probably to a great many Star Wars fans, Tatooine is Star Wars - there was no other place I was going to start in than Mos Eisley.

The problems with Coronet are obvious, spam, AFK Macroing, lag and so on - even now as a 6 month veteran of SWG I still avoid Coronet where possible. For a completely new player I think it would be too overwhelming - too much going on.

Newbs need to be eased into the game - I know I did. I bumped into a (HELPER) called Esmay and she helped me out a tonne - giving me creds to train, answering questions and so on. Are people likely to spend time helping a newb player in Coronet? Not likely - the place is one giant (albet rather atmospheric) bazzar - all people care about is buying and selling. I can't see someone taking 2-3 hours of their time to guide a newb through some stuff like Esmay did for me.

I believe that being able to start in less populated areas has more of an advantage than you realise.

On a last note, you can't have the only starting places as somewhere from Episode I and the Exapnded Universe (although Corellia is mentioned in canon) - you have to give something to please the Classic Trilogy folk.

Let's put it this way - after paying £35 for this game I would have been less than impressed if I couldn't have started on Tatooine...
