One reason the 10 minute wait 'sucks' is you miss your connecting flight, so have nothing to do for 10 minutes but start hating the fact you have to wait.

Another option is to ADD to the time the shuttle loads players- 5 minutes instead of 3. I can't remember the number of times I JUST missed a shuttle on a connection, and been pretty darn annoyed. We make jokes about it in guild chat all the time. It's EXTREMELY annoying when trying to get a guild hunt setup, to find out one member is 10 minutes out. Given the high end content 'needs' the mind buffs it's an additional 'no fun, no benefit' delay.

Starports 5 minutes, shuttle load time extended to 5 minutes, I think you'll have a far happier community... and still have PLENTY of immersion. I'd rather immerse myself with friends in a cantina, then waiting at a starport.

If we're stuck with 10 minute Starport times, how about leaving them on the ground for 5 minutes every 10 minutes then?

just a little compare thaught on the vehicle repair bug fix:

curent state is, that the bug is working, PvP combat most times destroys vehicle (1 or maximum 2 shots), Garage repair costs a lot creds (5 to 8k usally) and theres an almost 90% chance when next calling the bike that it is on his old pre repair damage, creds are lost, bike takes damage at every call (call it 10 times in 2 hours drive 2000m and it is nearly disabled), disabled bikes cannot be repaired anymore (not depending on if the bike was disabled by not letting it repair or PvP combat), new AV21 landspeeder implemented, very hard to get and is worth over a million creds)

well i see the after Publish8 state as this, and i guess i am not alone with that:

- ppl with av21 landspeeder that will be destroyed via PvP (and that happens often) will get really angry when they loose a million creds in a 1 or 2 shot PvP combat)

- Artisans will become a good profession to get rich fast, ppl will buy vehicles in crates

- new players cannot use vehicles, cause they would loose all their money day buy day for repairing the bike

- much players use autorun to get over longer distances with bikes, even when overt, ppl will get very angry when loosing a bike cause a master rifler whatever from opposite faction shot their bike when coming thru

- overt players will need much more money than other players on repairing bikes, i would say that an all time overt playing much PvP will need aprox. 2 or 3 new bikes per day and letting them repair every hour or 2 (depending on store, call damge)

- after some weeks, most PvP players will give up bikes and will get mounts, not that fast but makes no costs.

IS IT REALLY ALL THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE DEVS?????? I DONT THINK ANYONE OF U DID EVER REALLY THAUGHT OF CONSEQUENCES OF DOING THAT OR????? IS IT REALLY THAT WHAT U WANT, MAKING PvP PLAYERS ANGRY?????

Please please PLEASE allow Disabled Vehicles be repaired, right now we can get them back by going to another planet and store/generate, but after this fix comes in once a vehicle is disabled you will have to delete it. Given that vehicles get disabled all the time due to mobs and PvP this is unacceptable. After all, it's "disabled", not "blown to pieces" - a repair facility should be able to fix it.

  • Vehicles will no longer auto-heal when left out and stored after a player has taken a transport to another location.

  • Image Designer Tent: The Image Designers are moving into the galaxy! Image Designers now have professional tents in Theed, Moenia, Coronet, Bestine and Vreni Island. Look to see them have additional features for the Image Designer Mini Publish.

  • GUI: Fixed a problem with power of cure dot medicines not being displayed.
  • GUI: Fixed a problem with the examination of armor components which would prevent it from showing health encumbrance.
  • Player Structures:Door visuals: the player now keeps a door open when within range of the door but not moving.
  • Player Structures: Tatooine player garage ramp edge fixed: both sides now crossable

  • If a Bounty Hunter with a Jedi bounty mission is incapacitated by the Jedi, the Jedi loses his Bounty Hunter enemy flag.

  • Fixed performance buffs to add buff amount to current value instead of just maximum value.

  • Fixed problem with dodge; dodge no longer stops Pistoleer from running while in combat (Correspondent Issue)

  • Fixed a problem where traps could not be thrown indoors.

Which of these changes do you like the most?

Which has had the biggest impact on your game play?

NONE. I have read through them three times and not one single one is "likeable" simply because none have any relevance to me. I guess you would like a constructive post but the above list has nothing substantial to like.

"Vehicles will no longer auto-heal when left out and stored after a player has taken a transport to another location." - This is nothing more than an annoyance. The cost of repairing a vehicle for established players is inconsequential. All this will do is add another annoyance to the game where one has to find a garage every five minutes to repair a bike. Yes I take advantage of auto-heal not because I save money but simply because it saves time. It's bad enough as it is when one has to select store at least three times to store a vehicle.

I think you guys are really missing a chance to make a lot of players happy by not reducing Starport times (or eliminating them altogether). This is not an issue of immersion, its an issue of preventing groups from playing together and preventing quick ad hoc PVP events because people don't want to spend the hour it takes to get everyone to the same place at the same time.

It also interferes with the casual gamer who might only have an hour to play everday and doesn't want to spend any of their game time travelling. There are already more than enough places in game for the role players to enjoy people interracton, the starport should not be a forced one for the rest of us.

What does lowering the time hurt? NOTHING.

======================================================================

Nothing? How did you come to this conclusion? Are you basing this on your believe that there is NO VALID server performance problem that the 10 minutes addresses.

I believe a better reply from TH is the reason for the 10 minutes. Is it truely an imersive reason, is it only a time sink, or is there a technical reason this long a wait solves.

If this is really the case than I BEG you please reduce decay rates. THE SECOND I pull my vehicle out it automatically takes -50hp. By the time I log that day its its usally 1/4 to 1/3 of it's maximum HP. I sincerely hope this isn't the way you designed it. Do we really have to pay 5k credits a day just to use our vehicles?!

====================================================================================

Yes this is how they designed it. If you want the faster most power vehicle the Swoop then the maintenance costs are high. Change to a Speederbike and you will see a huge reduction in maintenance. Change to a landspeeder and the reduction goes beyond huge.

You want the most power, fastest, coolest vehicle and dont what the deficits. The speederbike is a fantastic compramise.

Question: Will this mean that a disabled vehicle cannot be repaired in any way and must be replaced?

===============================================================================

This is correct, disabled is a poor choice in labels. They should changed the label to destroyed. When a vehicle is disabled it cannot be fixed. The shuttle repair "feature" was a bug. This bug is being fixed.

The maintenance droid functionality is essentially not usuable or useful as far as I'm concerned. I would like to have a maintenance droid thatwill show me all my in place harvestors, current power, maintenance, and hopper/inventory levels, and allow me to dispatch a droid to add power AND maintenance. If the resource expires this harvestor panel should show me that. Ideally, it could do this off planet. Similarly, the droid should be able to be sent out to do multiple selected harvestors all at once and this same window/grid coud be displayed to see how the droid is doing out there (where it is in the run).

It boggles my mind that I can have placed harvestors in the field, see that my slots are being used on the CTRL-C screen, but not be able to see where they are, what they are, and basic status. This should have been a basic user interface from day one. The droid could augment that by being able to go out and add power/maintenance.

FWIW...not ranting...but offering suggestions. I'm not lazy, just get tired of looking at the back of my toons head as I've a bunch of harvestors over the last (almost year now) when I could be chatting with fellow players, participating in PVP, talking to customers in my store etc etc etc.
