Thread: Publish 8 Testing Feedback: Miscellaneous Gameplay Changes
just a little compare thaught on the vehicle repair bug fix:
curent state is, that the bug is working, PvP combat most times destroys vehicle (1 or maximum 2 shots), Garage repair costs a lot creds (5 to 8k usally) and theres an almost 90% chance when next calling the bike that it is on his old pre repair damage, creds are lost, bike takes damage at every call (call it 10 times in 2 hours drive 2000m and it is nearly disabled), disabled bikes cannot be repaired anymore (not depending on if the bike was disabled by not letting it repair or PvP combat), new AV21 landspeeder implemented, very hard to get and is worth over a million creds)
well i see the after Publish8 state as this, and i guess i am not alone with that:
- ppl with av21 landspeeder that will be destroyed via PvP (and that happens often) will get really angry when they loose a million creds in a 1 or 2 shot PvP combat)
- Artisans will become a good profession to get rich fast, ppl will buy vehicles in crates
- new players cannot use vehicles, cause they would loose all their money day buy day for repairing the bike
- much players use autorun to get over longer distances with bikes, even when overt, ppl will get very angry when loosing a bike cause a master rifler whatever from opposite faction shot their bike when coming thru
- overt players will need much more money than other players on repairing bikes, i would say that an all time overt playing much PvP will need aprox. 2 or 3 new bikes per day and letting them repair every hour or 2 (depending on store, call damge)
- after some weeks, most PvP players will give up bikes and will get mounts, not that fast but makes no costs.
IS IT REALLY ALL THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE DEVS?????? I DONT THINK ANYONE OF U DID EVER REALLY THAUGHT OF CONSEQUENCES OF DOING THAT OR????? IS IT REALLY THAT WHAT U WANT, MAKING PvP PLAYERS ANGRY?????

- Changed some profession titles to remove redundant or inconsistent names
- Fixed a bug that prevented the Tusken Robe and Helmet from dropping. (Correspondent Issue)
- Changed references from "coins" during group looting to "credits".
- Exploring the Talusian Aqualish Cave will now grant the correct exploration badge
- Fixed issue with players not being able to accept missions from some mission terminals
- Added hooded dress for Trandoshan females
- Vehicles will no longer auto-heal when left out and stored after a player has taken a transport to another location.
- Image Designer Tent: The Image Designers are moving into the galaxy! Image Designers now have professional tents in Theed, Moenia, Coronet, Bestine and Vreni Island. Look to see them have additional features for the Image Designer Mini Publish.
- Art : Made Stormtrooper black palette color darker
- Art : Fixed an issue with some polygons on twilek and human faces lighting incorrectly
- Art : Made fixes to Ubese jacket mesh
- Art : Fixed hood issues on Grand Healer's Robe for Humans, Twilek and Mon Calamari (Correspondent Issue)
- Art : Fixed seam on Bantha mount
- GUI: Fix HAM bar to reflect increased (buffed) maximum attributes.
- GUI: Door/camera interaction: the camera now maintains its distance behind a player when walking through a doorway when the camera has line of sight to the player.
- GUI: Fixed a problem with power of cure dot medicines not being displayed.
- GUI: Fixed a problem with the examination of armor components which would prevent it from showing health encumbrance.
- Player Structures:Door visuals: the player now keeps a door open when within range of the door but not moving.
- Player Structures: Tatooine player garage ramp edge fixed: both sides now crossable
- If a Bounty Hunter with a Jedi bounty mission is incapacitated by the Jedi, the Jedi loses his Bounty Hunter enemy flag.
- Fixed performance buffs to add buff amount to current value instead of just maximum value.
- Tweak to Jedi Bounty Hunter TEF clearing. There is a 30 second wait before the TEFs are cleared giving the Jedi a moment to perform a deathblow if he/she so desires.
- Fixed problem with dodge; dodge no longer stops Pistoleer from running while in combat (Correspondent Issue)
- Fixed a problem where traps could not be thrown indoors.
Which of these changes do you like the most?
Which has had the biggest impact on your game play?
NONE. I have read through them three times and not one single one is "likeable" simply because none have any relevance to me. I guess you would like a constructive post but the above list has nothing substantial to like.
"Vehicles will no longer auto-heal when left out and stored after a player has taken a transport to another location." - This is nothing more than an annoyance. The cost of repairing a vehicle for established players is inconsequential. All this will do is add another annoyance to the game where one has to find a garage every five minutes to repair a bike. Yes I take advantage of auto-heal not because I save money but simply because it saves time. It's bad enough as it is when one has to select store at least three times to store a vehicle.
Ok i know this isnt the most inportant part of the publish but why cant rodian females wear hooded clothes?? (i.e Grand Healers Robe) all the other females can why not us!
P.S. all the other changes look great btw
gonna love the new droids

I cant beleive you think its a good idea to keep rediculous timesinks in the game!
REDUCE THE STARPORT AND SHUTTLE TIMES TO 1-2 MIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think you guys are really missing a chance to make a lot of players happy by not reducing Starport times (or eliminating them altogether). This is not an issue of immersion, its an issue of preventing groups from playing together and preventing quick ad hoc PVP events because people don't want to spend the hour it takes to get everyone to the same place at the same time.
It also interferes with the casual gamer who might only have an hour to play everday and doesn't want to spend any of their game time travelling. There are already more than enough places in game for the role players to enjoy people interracton, the starport should not be a forced one for the rest of us.
