"Below are a list of changes made in Publish 8 that will effect the quality of game play:"

Aarrgh. I can't stand it any more; I have to say something. It's AFFECT. EFFECT is a noun. AFFECT is a verb. "...changes made in Publish 8 that will affect the quality..."

Sorry, I know some of you will cry "grammar nazi", and I generally try to let sleeping verbs lie, but I've now seen him do the same misusage of these words about three or four times, including the notorious advanced BE guide last Friday.

Just saw the note mentioning new content for Vreni Island and figure you might want to also fix all the broken NPC quests on the island while you're at it (they've been broken since before launch) so that people have something else to do when they get there. I finally showed up for my POI badge a few days ago and was disappointed that things still don't work there.

  • Reduced the wait time on shuttle ports to 5 minutes (Starports are still 10 minutes).

As withthe majority of people, I was very disappointed that the starport times were not addressed in any fashion. I then thought about it and was thinking maybe this would help. Then I realized that normally this would make no difference. Catching the early shuttle only to wait 5 minutes at the starport doesn't help. I rarely travel from spot A to spot B on a planet and then back to spot A. I usually go to point A, to B(starport) to C(starport) then back again or on to even point D(starport again). Shuttleport times just really aren't going to make that much of a difference. If there are other plansto addressstarport times, that should be address now so people know. Otherwise this just seems like a big failure and a complete lack of understanding on the developers part on understanding the game they are working on. This really only adds to the hostility on the boards, which seems to be on the rise as of late.

I was incaped as an alt on Live yesterday, and my opponent took the opportunity to destroy my vehicle. It was disabled with 0 HP left. It did store. Rode my Kaduu to nearest town, and broughtthe vehicleout near a garage (with a bang). Repair told me "disabled vehicles cannot be repaired." So, I left town on the shuttle and bought a new one. However, Iwas amused to discover that the shuttle trip had repaired my oldvehicle, and it was now callable again at full health.

Question: Will this mean that a disabled vehicle cannot be repaired in any way and must be replaced?

Because of the disabled vehicle not being repairable, this is a larger change than just a few credits in repair costs. I think it needs to be carefully tested against possible repair exploits, since recovering an otherwise lost vehicle is much more tempting to purposeful exploitation than avoiding a repair.

I like the destruction being permanent because my main is a Master Artisan, and it could improve sales. But such a change needs to be consistent and not subject to exploit.

Reduce starport times, period. It is NOT immersion to waste time in a game that I am PAYING for. It is NOT immersion to be insulted as one double-clicks a ticket several times only to then see the shuttle take off. It is NOT immersion to stand for a shuttle but warp to a new planet. The people have clearly spoken that burning time in a game that one only has a limited value is inappropriate. Remember, this is OUR product, not yours. As soon as you began selling it, we get to choose things.

Erm... TH... these 3 are already live... (and #2 and #3 I quoted there are the same thing worded differently)... so I have to ask, as I've seen some changes stay listed through 3 or 4 publish notes... are you just keeping some things in the notes to make the list look bigger? I know that's how it felt way back in the first few publishes when I was a Combat Medic.

Changing the wait time on the shuttle is great. However, the same should be done for starport waits. 9-10 minutes is an absurd amount of time to wait for a starporttransport.

Does this also mean that Vehicle auto-storing is fixed so I don't lose thousands of credits on a repair just to have my bike poof, and when I call it, it's back to it's pre-repair state?

And that's a good thing IMHO because this way you have a complete log of the changes between Pub 7 and Pub 8 and don't have to track hotfixes and mini-publishes.

True, the changes in Pub 7.0.1, 7.0.2, 7.1 and 7.2 should be marked as already in the game, but they should stay in the change documents.

Well, what you're describing is a totally different document then the way it is being used here. When I see items like HAM bar changes in 2 consecutive patch notes for a game like this the first thing that comes to mind is that there must have been additional changes to that item beyond what was done the last time it appeared.
