There seems to be a 10 minute or so "inactivity timeout" and preparing a post is not considered "activity" by this time.


I understand the need for inactivity timeouts, but it needs to be substantially longer, like 1 hour, minimum.I work with systems for a major telco (a baby bell successor company) and they allow at least that much timeout time on their web-based information and ordering systems.




Im pretty sure we extended the lithium time-outs to an hour late last week. I'll check again with the team to make sure that is on track.








Guess again. I average timing out at 5-10 minutes and, sometimes, upon trying to sign back in I keep getting the dull gray non-member forum pages.


After spending over 30 minutes, in Live Chat, with a CSR, on Friday evening, and was told that I should disable my firewall and anti-virus software to be able to log back into the forums. CSR-MarkS is an idiot and should be fired, immediately, for that one. Also, take that little piece out of your handy "tech support guidebook". All of this over the logging in, but not being able to view the forums and post as a member. Mark went on and on how it MUST be my cookies or deleting temp files or bla bla bla - ALL of his solutions were done BEFORE I hopped on for tech support (it helps that I'm a computer techie and I know what I'm doing). He continued to ignore me as I tried telling him that it was a server-side issue and that he should file a report about it. SOE really should try to hire people who have a clue about computers, networking and the internet, ya know?


Also, I tried calling as of 5:25 pm PST and got the message that tech support was already gone, yet thewebsite and the phone message claims that they are available until 6 pm PST.Now, unless I'm mistaken, I believe there are actually laws prohibiting false advertisement. Just trying to give you a little head's up before someone decides to take legal action.



So, are you going to delete this thread and/or ban me for being so critical or are you going to actually take action in SOLVING the problems???




I'm betting the thread gets deleted and I get banned for "being too critical". If that's the case, I suggest you contact me via e-mail aboutrestitution for the money I've spent on faulty software, documentation and unreliable service.

What is the "fuller solution" and when can we expect its implementation?
What "other things" are being done to help us out with housing storage?
Can you make some kind of statement to the community about what is being done?
Maybe you should get in contact with Raph Koster and see what he has to say about his statements.

Why does my medium tatooine house with 3 stories allowso few items?A small generic house with one story and two rooms can be decorated with 150 and still be useful. This house cannot - isn't it time to address this? It gets posted about in every roundtable thread and there have been many many many posts about it, all of which have been ignored thus far.

Hi there,

from way back I remember that we talked about "offline" web listing functions, even touching XML for integrating such infos at PA pages and alike.

You know, things like listing PA members at the official web page, or Player Town and members, Rebel Imp percentage per server and and and.

Don't know though if at any point some "red" statement was made regarding that one.

However, what ever happened to that in general ?

Seems like no such info is ever going to be provided ever, beside the statistical data that sometimes gets presented (don't know if it is still - do remember that at some point something was, like what get's killed most and stuff, right ?).

Why is SWG not providing this one and missing that chance, what I believe is a great community tool ? To my opinion, too much emphasis is being put on too detailed things like the Jedi and compat remake, while there are a lot of general important things that should be pushed further in my opinion with high priority, like for example that or the music or getting rid of empty vendors on the map, being able to list guild members who are online ingame, offline chat tool and so on and so on :-)

Looking positively into the future - so much more things to be done - so much room left for improvements :-)

By the way. Regarding the player corespondents. Anyone know if there are only the ones covering the professions, or if also a "general" one is being around ? Think that is very important, as of the mentioned points. Let's not forget the "general crowd" and topics too much :-)

Ok TH I know the combat revamp has been postoned but...............

Something really has to be done about creatures, I am not speaking as a MCH here wanting uber pets. I am speaking as someone who is bored with PvE.

Things that I should not be able to do that I can (even without pets or buffs)

Solo rancors of all types
I will remind everyone that in ROTJ the rancor Luke killed was a YOUNG rancor. not fully grown, and certantly not a ancient bull rancor.

Solo Krayts
Yep it was only a juvinal and I didn't use any structure exploits just stragety.

Solo a Mob of GSP's
these are supposed to be pack hunters and fierce and deadly not killable in like 5 shots.




Also Faction bases

Essentially TH after playing since June, I am getting really bored with this game. I understand things take time, but when you scrap a plan after already implimenting part of it you need to unimpliment what was. Give me something to be excited over today not 6 months from now

ty for the droid improvements/add ons TH let the teams know that many are happy to see things getting somewhere, so what is next for DE's between here and space...and maybe hints at beyond?

Ok I cant say nothing till the battle revamp. (BH's TK's Commandoes Rifleman Swordsmen and Nightsisters)
Ill just wait for it.
Im glad that the Dev added more abilities to droids it adds to the Star Wars feel. Cause SW did emphasize droid usage. Just hope the prices wont Sky rocket.

And I would like to add that it hasn't been changed to an hour cause i was on for about 20 min and I had to relog. Also for the forums is it possible to add editing cause late at night you might type some thing totally screwed.

I have an idea that I would like looked at. is it possible to add a CSR in SWG. Not many people use the chat channels. Maybe to increase customer service adding a live bug or whatever chat (with a direct rep)would help.
(Not saying SWG should do this but in other MMorp's it counted down how many people are a head of u and when its was your turn an actaul rep appeared in the game next to you, I think they used some customers in this service I dont remember)( also a newbie Spatial type channel that any other players can help newbies cause a newbie wouldn't be able to add a chat channel in his or her first few weeks they are still getting to know the game)
If there is one already please make it known or more easy to use.

Awhile back the group invisiblity bug was supposed to be fixed. I honestly think it is worse now than before and it happens when not in a group too, but does seem to be more frequent while grouped.

This is a beyond annoying bug. It makes game play dangerous if it happens while fighting or just before getting attacked. Would be a most welcome fix to this bug.

I would really hope you look at these issue and recommendation. Specially the one about the Rebel Bases for NPC and Players.


1. Rebel base to me are just wrong (MHO). The way the base for rebel are design now are totally off for a Military force who is in Hiding and going around doing hit and run operations against a larger stronger military force.


During this time Rebel Base wouldn't be Military Fort that would have banners display and be seen from miles away or from above. If I recall correctly in the Movies all Rebel base we ever saw were hiding or Camouflage in the first 3 moives.


When I think of what a Rebel NPC or Player Base would look like. It would be an Abandon House, Warehouse or Star port with an underground Complex. What you guys have now makes it look like the rebel are on equal footing with the imperial and don't need to hide from them. Which is not the case during this time period.

I would love to see you guys redesign the Rebel bases to blend into their surrounding and make the rebel look more like a Rebellion fighting against a powerful evil empire.


2 Whatever happened to Faction Ranks? I heard rumor that maybe in Patch 7. I guess it never made it. I would love to see you guys allow us to wear our faction ranks ensigns like the NPC Rebel and Imperial Officer currently wear on their uniforms. Also it is nice to have an option to display the Rank Ensign with the player name to everyone when they are overt and to their faction when they are covert. (This is something many have ask for yet seems to fall thru the seams!)


3 We need furniture that actually store equipment. Now that you added a light source to lamps, let think about adding storage abilities to Bookcase, Cabinets and Armoires.


4 We need to see headlights on Lands peers and Bikes.


5 What about storage containers on Land Speeders and Bikes.


Two Issue

1 With all the technology in the Star Wars Universal you would think that they would be able to create Gas Mask or Bio Suite to protect against Poison and disease in this time period. Why not add this feature into the game. You guys fixed the issue with Defense stackers being uber, now you have the Issue with MCM being the king of the battlefield. Have you ever been hit with AOE poison or disease that does 1000 damage a tick to your mind pool from about 80m out? (I have it not fun)


2. How is Master Rifleman as fast as Pistoleer? I understand Rifles being more powerful and accurate. How in the world can a Rifle be faster then a pistol?


The problem with this game is you have two bigbalance issue. One is the speed a Master Rifleman has and Master CM with there 600 a Tick AOE Disease with 90m range! This has made the game so bland that everyone who wants to excel in PvP’er are Rifleman/CM.

Are you aware of a bug where you get buffs and then you take a shuttle. When you get there you arrive dead. I shuttled from Coronet to the Dathomir Outpost and when I got there I was dead and I saw 4 other players dead also. This is an annoyance to me but for a Jedi it's devastating.
