Thread: Bounty Hunter changes...
WarGhul wrote:Unbelieveable.
Yesterday, 20-30 bounty hunters screamed and rent their clothing over the patch notes, crying out that the biggest problem with mastering BH was the tiny amount of bounty-hunter xp you got from investigation missions. Today, the devs address the issue, implement changes so that more xp gets given out, which means that you don't have to do 300 missions (which was cited as being completely unfair), and what happens? A new bunch of whiney BH's who have already mastered their profession start screaming and crying, demanding that the amount of the mission payouts and the amount of xp you got were not a problem at all, that the devs should have addressed all the other issues about becoming a MBH.
WHAT THE HELL!!!!!!!
I mean, if it is listed as one of the top priorities by your correspondant, and then the devs fix it, why would you tell them that they shouldn't do that?? Crazy people. Really, crazy.

I don't see anyone screaming or crying. This issue is between the BH community and the developers. Unless you have some constructive comments to add you are not helping the matter and only trolling for flames.

To be a Master Bounty Hunter now you only have to do 75 missions. That is a joke.
That is always assuming you can get get the requisite number of pistol, carbine, LLC and apprentice points while doing those 75 missions. I agree that it has been made a little too easy, but then again its just a game. All of the professions are in reality meaningless.
Where do you get 75 missions from? Here's how it breaks down.
Novice BH Missions: 10K BH XP @ 150 BH XP a pop = ~67 missions
Train Inv I and Inv II. Have 4,000 bought into Inv III with 6,000 BH XP left to gain. 6,000 XP @ ~338 XP a pop = ~18 missions
Train Inv III. 18,000 BH XP @ 440 BH XP a pop = ~40 missions.
That's 125 missions, at a minimum. I'm assuming you get the highest paying missions you can at each level. Average length of a BH mission is approx 1 hour. So that's 125 hours for one branch. That's one branch! I think that's fair.
Now you need 1.2million XP for *each* of your three weapon types and you aren't going to get this from 125 marks that may max out weapon xp at 3000. Not to mention that you can't take on the higher level marks without being a novice CH with a good pet or a 0-2-2-2 BH.
Do your homework before spouting off.

Despite many hotfixes, bounty marks still lose their TEF sometimes (side note: some of us work around this by /logout or /quit for awhile near the mark. Come back and sometimes they are attackable again).
We think we've got this fixed with the next Monthly Publish. I hate this bug.

Blair,
Thank you so much for taking the time to address this! The community will be pleased that you think you have this bug squashed! Great job and thanks for the update.
I think you have the same file problem with:
- Teras Kasi: Fixed center of being command. Defense mods now work.
It ain't working as advertised. ![]()

White marks arent much of a problem for me .. only had a handfull (of course ive never come across a Durni i couldnt soot)
I have more problems with marks being stuck in structures... giving me the "you can not see your target"
better NPC pathing needs to be worked into these missions....
if there is a BIG body of water, why do they swim across it... cant they go around it?
Blair thank you very much for providing a response to our inquiries even if it was after it was patched in. This is what I have been talking about all along. Bugs I can deal with and the waiting for cool content and balance issues and everything else. Lack of any kind of response is intollerable to me however.
So again thank you, my attitude towards you guys has been changing lately as I see that the chain of communication is gradually getting better.
Cheers,

Question,
This is my first post so please bear with me, I have notice the underlying noted BH problems revolved about insufficent offense/defense for skill point vested compared to other character classes. In addition to skill points was the amount of time to become Master BH, mainly due to time investigation takes to complete. The central call to arms was the amount of time need to Master BH compared to reward was not worth it and need to be adjusted. The SOE solution was to make it easier to be a master BH (and therefore reduced the difficultly issue) than increase or modify our skills.
Speaking personally I would have rathered the payouts/experience remain the same and increased our offense/defense mods. Granted they needed to fix the bugged missions, but thatat this time it appears to me that we have just nerfed ourselves. No longer can we "whine" about the grind.
For the amount of skll point expenditure we have spent should be compared to player power, however it is not. We have not increase our playablity or provided a reason to be MBH, only shorten th path.

That's because our BIGGETS and GREATEST problem is white marks and invisible marks - basically our marks are not attackable. In this very thread it was stated that this will be fixed in the next publish and untill that happens it's nothing more than a wait and see deal.
Our biggest problem has NOT been fixed yet (but we got great confirmation that it will be next publish - woooohoo!) so that's whats up.
Capice?
Fixing money payout, while not at the very top of the list, is high up there.. and.. well.. Bounty XP is kinda debatable. It's sorta debated by BH's whether or not changing BH XP (increasing it per mission) is good because or not.
I think it is as long as it's not super easy or anything. 2% instead of 1% per credits/mission would be adequate I suppose.
I posted this on the bh board:
The same people that would wine for months about dabblers, would complain and post like crazy about how dabblers are ruining our proffesion, are now complaining about everyone becoming master and them not being the select few. Now it is reasonable for the average gamer to make master, therefore reducing the number of dabblers and you have a problem with that?
Just a thought, you cant have it both ways
Maybe some are not happy unless they have something to complain about
3/4/4/4 BH
82 missions to go
o wait 19 missions to go
I have lots of things I plan on doing after I make master BH, Its not the end game for me, but the beginning
Great that xp has been upped. Now the only thing left to fix is how weak we are compared to every other combat class.
