Thread: Bounty Hunter changes...

If this is already in.....wouldn't BHs have noticed by now?
Oh ya we noticed. That is why I dropped it last night. The ones who didn't do investigation untill now will be Master Bounty Hunter in a few weeks. And alot of the Master Bounty Hunters I know have done the same thing, and dropped it. Here is my post to the Dev's from yesterday that never got a response. (one of many)

From the Bounty Hunter Forums:
It doesn't matter what the people who have been trying to master Bounty Hunter since the begining or have already Mastered Bounty Hunter have to say.
You get a bunch of people who get a stupid Holocron that tell them to Master Bounty Hunter, and people who just do not want to put the time and effort into the Bounty Hunter Missionstogether on the boards, they start whining about how hard it is to master this profession, and poof something is changed.
Amazing how 90% of the people who posted on these boards did not want the XP raised per mission til the Holocrons showed up on the scene isn't it.
So they doubled the Payout of credits for missions (this is a good idea) and they doubled the percentage of XP per mission (well IMHO this is a bad idea).
Not the changes that really need to be made like Fixing the 25+ bugs in the missions, Fixing the mods for the droid tracking, Giving us some useful skills in the Investigation tree, Fixing the specials and thier excessive HAM costs, or Reducing or doing away with shuttle wait times.
But all of the whiners are happy. The Holocron followers can Master Bounty Hunter now with a few weeks of grinding and move on to thier next mystical profession and the people who did not want to put any effort can Master Bounty Hunter with relative ease as well. And thats all that matters right.
We were the minority to begin with so that is why we never got any real attention from the Devs except when the majority would whine about us being to powerful then they would beat us down with the NERF bat.
Now that the Holocron followers are added into our mix we get some attention, not the attention we have been trying to get from the launch of this game. To actually fix our profession and for it to have some type of meaning in the realm of SWG. Just what everybody has been whining about since the Holocrons apeared and the fortunate souls who's Holocron told them to master Bounty Hunter,
"It is too hard, I don't want to spend 300+ hours grinding one tree of a profession. I have another Holocron waiting to tell me what my next profession is I need to master,so I need to finish it as quickly as possible so I can drop Bounty Hunter and do the next one."
Well I hope those who wanted this are happy. Nothing was actually fixed in the profession, but it is now easier for you. Let's see how long it takes for them to actually getting back arround to us again now. I am betting another 4-5 months. Because in a few weeks all the people who got a Holocron that said MASTER BOUNTY HUNTER will be gone and the others who get it will just be breezing thru as well, they don't care about the profession they just want to get thru it as fast as possible, so we are still going to be the minority. No one else really wants to be a Master Bounty Hunter. They have made all the other combat classes better than us. So why would anyone bother spending the 217 skill points to Master Bounty Hunter when they can spend the 217 SP and master several Elite professions that by themselves are better then Bounty Hunter and combined can wipe the floor with us. I am begining to ask myself that same question.
I had no real problem with bumping up the Mission Payout which in tern would have bumped up the XP (at 1% of payout) but 400+ XP for a mission is rediculous. That is almost 4x what it has been since the games launch. So instead of 300+ hours to master you can do it in 75. So it is now just another Master in 1-2 week professions. God forbid they actually fix the missions and the droid tracking too, then it can be mastered in a few days.
Way to go! We have another meaningless profession to ad to the list.
*******************************************************************************************************************
I may return when the Profession is actually fixed and some content is added to it. I just feel like it is a slap in the face to all the Master Bounty Hunters who actually did the missions and got Master Bounty Hunter before the patch.
I have been playing since launch, I have Mastered no other profession (except Scout and Marksman), I have been going for Bounty Hunter since I started playing. It was the only profession I was interested in. I just Mastered Bounty Hunter this past Friday, and now they do this. Now I feel like an IDIOT for spending all that time trying to Master it when less then a week later they make it 4x easier to do it.
I mean come on. To be a Master Bounty Hunter now you only have to do 75 missions. That is a joke.
HEY!
You guys have been bittching and whining ever since the big patch that the promised changes did not make it in. You
repeatedly berated the Devs for not TELLING you why. Some of you have been quite...rude... about it.
So, a Dev comes out, explains exactly what happened, and tells you what the remedy was, and your response is pretty much...
YAWN... not everything got fixed
who cares, want MORE!
etc...
Bunch of selfish twerps.

Despite many hotfixes, bounty marks still lose their TEF sometimes (side note: some of us work around this by /logout or /quit for awhile near the mark. Come back and sometimes they are attackable again).
We think we've got this fixed with the next Monthly Publish. I hate this bug.

Some of us enjoy doing the missions, when they work, and wished they worked more often. XP means nothing to me. Money doesn't mean much more. What concerns me is having fun while hunting bounties.
I'm not whining or complaining. I'm stating that I play this game to hunt bounties. If I can not hunt bounties in a 2 hour play session I am unable to enjoy my profession. Seems a legitate concern to me. If you don't like reading it, don't click the link.

That is always assuming you can get get the requisite number of pistol, carbine, LLC and apprentice points while doing those 75 missions. I agree that it has been made a little too easy, but then again its just a game. All of the professions are in reality meaningless.

<A bunch of good stuff>
You know, it is funny. Some (not all) of theHoloDE's are saying the same thing about the grind to master DE.
They want to be a master in 7 hours (yes, we really do get posts like that on the DE forums asking for macros to do so).
It cheapens the accomplishment of reaching the harder elite classes, IMO.
Unbelieveable.
Yesterday, 20-30 bounty hunters screamed and rent their clothing over the patch notes, crying out that the biggest problem with mastering BH was the tiny amount of bounty-hunter xp you got from investigation missions. Today, the devs address the issue, implement changes so that more xp gets given out, which means that you don't have to do 300 missions (which was cited as being completely unfair), and what happens? A new bunch of whiney BH's who have already mastered their profession start screaming and crying, demanding that the amount of the mission payouts and the amount of xp you got were not a problem at all, that the devs should have addressed all the other issues about becoming a MBH.
WHAT THE HELL!!!!!!!
I mean, if it is listed as one of the top priorities by your correspondant, and then the devs fix it, why would you tell them that they shouldn't do that?? Crazy people. Really, crazy.
-I AM WARGHUL
Think about it like this. Typical hardcore powergamer is drooling all over themself to become Jedi. Why???
Because they want to be able to kill everyone in PvP and PvE and be the most powerful person in game. NOT because they want to be able to sell crafted items on the bazaar. Any l33t dude whose holocron tells them Master [Insert Crafting Class Here] is simply going to grind it out and then drop it. No harm, no foul. Now when same dude gets Master BH. He make like powerful feeling getting to hunt Jedi and stick with it. So this holocron craze probably won't have a lasting effect on any of the crafting professions, but BH has and will be permanently altered.
BTW, I did Investigation 1 and 2 in one day! WOO HOO!
Disturbing how some people are using the completion of Investigation to apparently determine their self-worth, and these changes are a blow to that.
