Doubt that would have any effect on camping like you imagine. It's the group that does the most damage, not per player. If there's 10 people attacking a mob that are grouped, and 1 person comes along and starts hitting it, that solo person should have no chance of looting the mob. Out of those 10 people, the ones that get the chance to loot the mob are those within 10m, outta those, it's the fastest one on their /loot key. I know a Master Rifleman that's pretty quick and beats me to the loot about half the time.
If the auto-loot was turned on automatically it would not matter who /loot'ed first. If player A loots, then the drop may go to player B, player C, or even player D. That is were the previous example comes into play. (10 person group / 100 mobs killed) The first person who does the looting will be looting for the entire group not for the individual. The distance should be set to include people that are, say within 70m. That way rifleman on the outskirts will still be within range of the autoloot.
So lets say player A is TKA, player B is commando, and player C is rifleman sitting at 60m. The 3 of you all contribute to the death of the mob. Now who ever /loots the mob does not necessarily receive the loot, he is looting for all 3 people, or the entire group. The code would kick in and determine who was next to receive the loot in a random fashion.
This would help not only in holo hunting but krayt hunting also. Would give more people the option to sell these items throughout the community, thus giving everyone an opportunity to make a little money on krayt tissues or what ever happens to be an uber loot dropped item.

Auto-loot should be forced on and not given to the char that causes most damage. That was a designI believeshould have changed early on. If the loot system was forced on,holo camping may not have been such a big problem.

Sorry to disappoint, but it's the group that gets the last shot that gets the loot. This is why it's a problem. If the group that did the most damage got the loot, I think that would be completely fair, since you "worked harder" to get it - and that's only in quotes because some combat classes can do much more damage than others =)
Argh..My Manipulator Arm for an edit button.
We all knew this day would come.
So Sintrosi proposed two naturals, Gorantoth and Drashk.
Honestly, I think these posts are a good example of where the priorities have been: mounts, cities, & vehicles. Now that those are out of the way, the devs are ready to start listening (better late than never I suppose). I also note the lack of any Politician and Jedi responses. The first is crucial to cities, the second was 'internally tested', yet we have nice lists of bugs in the Jedi forum. /shrug
Wow man! That's a lot to get done!
Thanks TH.
Now go home and watch the Simpsons!![]()

and Still no mention when/If we will ever get a jedi correspondent! just towing more of the SOE company line "its being looked into"..uhh "the entire comabt systems being revamped"..how about, we've got our thumbs up our as-ses , you guys just continue to pay us every month and shut the hell up! at least thats up front instead of all this poppycock smoke blowin you guys always do. Never any direct answers...Bah
Read them all, looking forward to playing this game over the next year. If everything falls into place SWG should def start living up to its name.
I've been going to college and majoring in game design for over two years now and i know that doesn't make me special, smarter, and/or know more than others about the pains of game designin any way what-so-ever but i cant help but be a jerk andsay this..
To those of you who feel the need to cry and complain about how something doesn't fit exactly what you wanted. Stop.
If you think developing, coding, keeping content true to Star Wars, sorting out bugs, etc., is in any way easy.. You need to educate yourself. Go to borders and start reading books on coding and design, get 3d Studio Max, Maya, any of the various coding programs and/or whatever you think you may need to create the game your looking for, come up with a team of people whocan work together undersevere pressure, and get to work. Sadly it isn't possible to magically think an idea right onto a CD that makes things happen on your computer, sorry to break the news!
If you have something to say, find a way to constructively word your complaint, take action in a positive way, or just keep it to yourself..Devs might pay more attention to it. Remember, you choose to pay for and play this game.
You guys are doing a great job getting things under control, keep it up. Game has come a long long way since launch.
Oh and the Dark Jedi/Sith thing.. As far as my Star Wars knowledge goes, there were Dark Jedi working under the Emperor during the reign of the Empire. I just read a reference to that in one of The New Jedi order books i was reading, i think it was Destiny's Way.
Happy Holidays to all.

just had to add that I agree wit this quoterelating to the ignoring of all we have said and the consistant asking for new ideas:
" Just looking at the sticky section of almost any profession would give you enough ideas to make a whole game out of just that profession - if you guys want our continued patience, you'll need to justify it by recognizing what we've already done before you ask us to do more. "
A lot of people spend a lot of time and effort making detailed suggestions, we don't feel inclined to give more when our past efforts seem to fall on deaf ears, even though those are the ears of the people asking for the ideas.
All of the new ideas, additions, and changes sound great.
However I have grown weary of hurry up and wait for the few months. I just wanted to be a bounty hunter in star wars, but clearly the design of the game is not for that kind of person. I imagine SWG will be very cool in about a year from now, but until then it's still like a beta.
I'm going to go continue playing Final Fantasy 6, now there's a great game ![]()
