Thread: Friday Feature Errata... Part 2...

I'd really like to understand the dichotomy here.
You say you know we don't want decay.
You leave it in anyway.
And then despite 89% of this very impassioned thread, you say you know better than us and that its an "important game mechanic."
I'm still processing the bizarre concept of trading FP for insurance. I don't have a clue where you're going on this -- sounds like another weak time sink to me, thrown in at the last minute to patch the hole in the **edit** that opened yesterday. You really, really need to elaborate on these off-the-cuff bombs like this.
ps TH does indeed rock. We who have been around a while know this, and thanks him. Now, how about you start listening to him, rather than immediately deciding how to cut our ideas to the floor on first hear?
FACT- Armorsmiths and Weaponsmiths ARE THE RICHEST PEOPLE IN THE GAME--
just what kind of love from insured decay do you think they need?!---
oh and you want the blame from TH shifted to you JustG?-- well here goes--- kiss my A$$.

Well, since we cant edit our posts in this forum..... I have another rant. JustG, are you or others not reading the forums? Because I know for a fact many people have been posting about looking forward to having no decay in PvP in their respective galaxy forums and other forums. If YOU knew that it had been pulled, yet we as players were still talking about it, that should've put a flag up, where you realized something was not communicated properly. This just shows how poor this new *forum* redesign really is if something like that cannot be picked up on.
Why a 'bite' or 'cost' at all with dying? Isn't being killed and having to go back to doing whatever it is you were doing or giving up punishment enough for being killed?
I've never understood the mentality that death has to have some WORK related cost associated in it in a game I play for fun. For me the thing that keeps me living in the game is that I don't want to be killed, not because I want to avoid some added on tax to make it 'sting' more. I don't like dying in pvp. I don't like dying in pve. That's never going to change. And it has nothing to do with decay.
For most of this game's public online life we have had no extra tax associated with death. I realize that was never 'the plan' but I never understood why 'the plan' was so important anyway in this regard.
How about giving all the players something they all want and can benefit them all without doing any significant harm to the game?
Remove all death penalties aside from wounds obtained by cloning in a foreign facility.

Even if it was a mistake, you lied to us.
Who cares who the messenger is, because you're still part of the developer camp.
Just because you designate one person as a messenger doesn't mean we should kiss his butt every time he shows up and says, "Oh... BY THE WAY"
The reason you're dealing with such a mob like reaction is because everyone thinks this game can be so much more than it is, but you guys continually screw it up.

FYI Folks .. decay drives the buying and selling going on in the universe. If you never had a suit of armor go bad why would you replace it? This creates a demand, thus the great cycle of capitolism is born in which you the consumer need something and we the manufacturer provide the services.
If you played the game for 3-4 weeks after buying 3x Adv Composite for 500,000 creds to watch it fall apart without even being in the GCW you'd understand why no one wants ANOTHER level of decay on our armor..
Have you ever met a poor armorsmith that has a stocked vendor?
I will say the communication has improved greatly since July. The improvementshave become especially noticable in the past couplemonths and they are appreciated.Slip ups do happen though. It is good to see one owning up to their mistakes and things are generally moving in the right direction. The changes on TC to feed back from the chefs are an example of this and hopefully things will be fleshed out completely to the chef community's satisfactionso the new profession is a viable one. I don't think we are there yet though.
As to decay, as a crafter I like it, of course. As one that uses skill tapes that are insanely expensive, it is enough to keep me away from all forms of death, especailly PvP. For PvP to be a strong part of this game, decay needs to be remove completely fromPvPas does combat medic's AoE. Those two items are game stoppers when it comes to PvP. If those two game stoppers were fixed then PvP would be enjoyable and not something to advoid completely.
