Thread: Cries of Alderaan Status
Please add more story arcs because it's one of the best thing you ever did and it's interesting to have an ongoing and dynamic story line.

After The Cries of Alderaan will there be more Story Arcs?
Potentially, however we've changed our publish structure. Going forward, we will have a theme for each major publish, such as The Imperial Crackdown and Droid Invasion. There will be story missions and live events to accompany these themes. Additionally, we intend to open a new "dungeon" between major publishes (mini-publishes). In the future, we may add more three act story arcs.
Please keep the story arcs!!! Don't tell us you "may" add them... just keep them in the game. The story arcs are one of the few things that actually make us feel like we are having an impact on the galaxy. If you remove this... we will no longer have that. So please reconsider. Perhaps you should get a story arc team to push out a new one every month. Please please please keep it!

Thanks for your support of the Story Arc. I don't consider them gone, just re-tooled. If you'll notice, The Imperial Crackdown offers an extremely dynamic story based set of missions in the city of Bestine. The only difference between this and The Cries of Alderaan is that it is a permanent part of the game.
Now I'm still very interested in thetransient aspect of the Story Arc. I think it really lends to good storytelling ("Remember when we did that cool quest that was only available last November..."). I have plans to get another one in the works, but it won't be for a while. The Themed Publishes will have exciting new story content for you guys and gals. Try those out before lamenting ![]()
And to be clear (I'madding this to the Story Arc pagein a couple minutes)
If the Rebels win Act 3: A modified version of Dead Eye will be developed and will be remain a rebel faction perk.
If the Imperials win Act 3: There will be no modified version of Dead Eye and the version that relies on Alderaan Flora will eventually become obsolete. Yes, if you Imperials win, you'll be taking a buff out of the game, but do you really want to leave that advantage in the hands of the Rebellion? What's more important, your personal desire for the buff or the will of the Emperor? And you call yourself an Imperial... ![]()
You want to affect something real in the game, there you go.
By the way, yes, the Rebel missions are harder than the Imperial ones. The Rebels won Acts 1 and 2. We've created Act 3 to take that into account.

Just a thought... but with COA coming to an end, and the Empire Striking Back... why not take this chance to start a segway into the ESB time period... it can be gradual and make the final change over at the space expansion. But I feel Darth Vader has been hanging out on Naboo for too long.
Maybe he can be moved to the Executor in orbit of Hoth when the Space Expansion comes out?
Well... just suggestions, but I'd like to start feeling the timeline really moving now.

I'm rebel in game, but I like your thoughts. Moving static items during an expansion/publish tends to make the game more dynamic.

That's too bad. The story arcs were one of the things that excited me most about galaxies. It gave the world a natural sense of change and progression, instead of seeming to unnaturally stand still.
I hope you will find some other way to give thegalaxy a feeling of change in the political atmosphere- something that effects every day gameplay in a large way.

I really like the new content and I think it's good work, but please make a new story arc ASAP. If i'm honest the Cries of Alderaan Arcs 2 und 3 (especially 3) were the coolest quests I did ever in SWG (defend a base from incoming stormtroopers, awesome). Yes I know you can also do this as static content but I really love an ongoing and dynamic story line which will be gone after a while. It's not the same if you can still do them. Please stay with the one Act every two month, that's ok for me.
Thanks!
