I think the best thing to do is base it on the number of Proffesions mastered. You should be able to unlock from 25-32 Profs. This to me seems resonable enought to allow some one to Try Padwan and to advance to Jedi. For those who are between that number they should be rewarded greatly.

There are also the guys that are 10-25 proffesions mastered. They should be Rewareded also but not 80%.

For the guys that are 1-10 proffesions, well I mean even if they started over it would seem fair to me.

Badges - Who cares about badges... I would say faction rank would be more important then badges. Come on. Any one can bike thier way to the Great falls of Theed or the Sarlac on Dath.

Conclusion - 25-32 profs should be heavilly advanced in the new system====10-25 profs should have little or some advancement. 1-10 should have none to very little.

Come on this cant be that hard - or is it - I dont know - all I know is we think like Mutant rancors - once we are hungry we cry for MEAAAT!!!

Do what you guys think is best - people will cry day in and out no matter what - JustG, and the rest of you guys - I am sure at this point you know everything in the game (just about everything) we are entrusting you.

May the force guide you to make the best decisions.

There's a lot of speculation as to what badges will be necessary in the new system to get a visit from the old dude. There seems to be some sort of weighting system applied to the badges, with different badges (warren, vette, hero o' tat) or types of badges (profession, poi) being worth more or less than others. At some point you reach a threshhold and it's village time. As for the Hero of Tat badges in particular, I'm not sure. I've seen posts from people with them who still haven't gotten a visit, tho, so who knows what they're worth. Except of course the spiffy ring

Said spiffy ring was another reason I decided to take on the quest

I'm watching this thread VERY closely (incase you hadn't noticed already!)

I'm not looking for a direct route to the FS/Jedi, I'm happy to work at it, heck! 4 days (no really!) looking for some NPCs that might not even spawn! Just to finish what I've started! Sat there for hours on end grinding ribbed shirts to clear out my 1st holo (Tailor!)

Another question (long explination needed for such a simple answer!)

Here goes:

After finishing my 3rd Holocron (Squad Leader) I went out in search for my next one.... Didn't take too long for me to find a nice geazer selling a sith holocron for a mear 50k... Made Trade, used holocron, was - as expected - silent....

About 5 minutes after this happened I got the dreaded "Connection to SWG Lost" message!

About 20 minutes passed before I could get back in, only to find that the 50000 credits were back in my pocket, and after talking to the feller I traded with I found out he had his sith holocron back in his inventory....

So to my question: Does the "Silent" Holocron register as a used holocron? If so, do you think I should do my damned best to go out and find one JUST so I get that bit of code saying I have done since the server roll back effectivly means I never actually got the holocron to use in the first place ? (oh god a time paradox!! lol!)

whadda u rekkon?

Actually, at this point, all holocrons are inert and silent. Been that way since publish 9

On a side note, I don't think it'd really matter to get one for some hidden piece of code. But then, I don't work for SOE, so it'd take a dev to answer that on.

I havea couple of important questions, first and foremost, are the "entry and exit" quests going to be spaced very far apart, like the entry quest in phase1 and the exit in the last phase? the 2nd question, can everyone do the quest at their leisure, or is it going to be camped like everything else in the game that pertains to force sensitivity?

Let the holocrons unlock boxes, trees, or give exp for non-Jedi, and let holocrons heal a current Jedi's force bar. You could even put a cap on holocron usage for unlocking at 1 or 2 per village phase. This would make Holocrons valuable to everyone not just Jedi.

One major benefit to using holocrons this way, everyone was given 2 holos at christmas. This means that everyone either used their holos to grind a profession or saved them. Either way this will benefit the entire population base (that has been here since Christmas). Some would cry foul, so you could give everyone 1 holocron for publish 10. Just an idea...

I think what needs to be done is SOE needs to make a plan; a goal of how the game should be. And, unless the plan/goal needs to be modified to allow for environmental changes in the game, continue on with the plan irregardless of how many whine and complain. SOE needs to take control not the masses. There needs to be a plan or there will always be disorder and confusion. You can't continuosly change things based on people who have nothing better to do then to complain in the forums. I would much prefer consistancy.

I have a suggestion for giving holo grinders credit.

There are 32 possible professions to unlock. There are 24 skill boxes to get the FS slot and Padawan. That means if you give3 skill boxes for every 4 professions completed, 32 professions would be all 24 skill boxes. I think this would be the fairest way of compensation. At least its alot better than what they had planned.

what about people that have been playing from day one that have masteries before the badge system? the devs have already stated back then the reason that the couldnt give us badges retoactively is because the system doesnt keep track of them, and ONLY KNOWS THE PROFESSIONS THAT ARE HOLO RELATED, but werent very open about the mechanics with holo professions.

I and annoyed that many of you here keep making suggestions based on 32 professions, it aint gonna happen that way because based on words from the devs themselves they dont have that information pre badges, so a lot of us old school vets would be SOL and have to remaster what we previously mastered, if you needed 32 professions as some are stating under the sliding parser theory that doesnt make sense since the database has no record of what profession someone that has been playing before badges has, and also that is NOT "AN ORGANIC CONTROL OF THE JEDI POPULATION". i am sure many of you remember that

so we can all agree that everyone should be given credit for the progression on the path to jedi, how can the devs do it? we know everyone with the use of holos would be told 4 professions to master, the system knows how many of these were done, whether you used holos or not. everyone i am willing to bet has mastered at least one of their holo professions and didnt know it, if you used 3 holos and used a forth and it was silent you have a 4th you dont know about. an example if you were told to master BH, odds are markman may have been one of your holos.

knowing what info the system indeed has and DOESNT have we should be able to logically figure out how non unlockers should be rewarded.

i had hoped to pull up the post on some of these points to quell any naysayers as to the relevancy of my statement but it too much for one person to go back and research, but i know the are some old school vets here that may see this and have to discussion link or in test links with the dev comments.

if anything i hope this at least puts an end to the "credit for 30+ professions" argument because they just dont have all the info in their database to know. so how would that be fair???

Great newes for those of you've unlocked congrats, i just hope the 'credit for those that haven't goes on the no of proffessions mastered not the no of holos completed i have over 20 proffs ,77 badges but only 1 holo completed b4 they went silent please enlighten me to the plan sooner rather than later i'm goin out of my mind Oufet Iaatiff TKA power the way fwd......

you have actually done the 4 known already, just didnt get to see what they were.

IT IS NOT HOW MANY PRETTY PYRAMIDS OR CUBES YOU USED, its how many professions would be told to you if you did use them. if you didnt have 4 holo professions told to you its because it was for example; if your first told you to master commando and one of you other holos was marksmen, you wouldnt know it because you had to master markmen to master commndo, like wise for those that had been playing since day one and had more than a few masteries it holds twice as true that we mastered a holo profession and would not know it for one reason or another.

well after playing on test center today, I didnt get ANY credit at all. Please explain this, Im hoping a bug. Course devs have only commented on post 9 unlockers leaving me to pay for another month till I find out.

How in the WORLD is someone supposed to explain why you didn't get any credit??? You included exactly ZERO information in this post! Unless you provide information on your /check command, your entry quest results, and your experience in the village, there is no way anyone should be responding to this post... actually... why am I responding to this post myself? Must be bedtime...

Umm, I was under the impression that all holo grinders (whether we finished or not) would be getting some credit for holos we completed ? I only did two, but was assuming I'd get 8 skill boxes completed at village. I just completed the melee quest and went to Paemos to get trained and to my disgust I got nada. Im not expecting a jedi to be handed to me, however as a player from day 1 who did a few holos I expect to be ahead of a newb who just enters the village.

As it stands now, I wont be sticking around if this doesnt change. I played the game for fun although I always wanted to be a jedi. I should at least receive some credit for doing two holos like we were led to believe.
