Thread: Faction Insurance Day Pass: How much?
Right now you have 2 of the bigger Imp PVP pa's on Chilastra going Rebel. There are more and more that are going rebel every day. Have you ever thought that to NOT screw the imps would be a good idea? Just a suggestion....who am I to say anything....
A quick question though...if you have 95% rebels who do anything pvp'ish...who cares what it costs to insure? The war will be over, there will be nothing to fight. It will just be crafters...who have nobody to sell their stuff to.

For roughly 50-100 Faction Points, players get no armor decay and 1 time pay for insurance for 24 hours? No decay and one time insurance for PvP is tens and hundreds of thousands of credits cheaper.
In 2-3 hours of hard PvP, a player can spend 20-50K credits in insurance andlose 10-50% of their armors integrity. No insurance at all means this stays in the game...I certainly wouldnt like that.
if this is infact a zero percent decay instead of a 1% decay as you mention and a 24 hour insurance for 24 hours, then yes it would be worthwhile
i think people will buy it, but even if it is a 1% decay, people probably would not buy it......like all things though everything is related to each other.
here is just two
1) smiths have a monoply on goods, they charge too much for items, but the demand is high, and people pay it. reason is because other smiths can not compete because of experimentation tapes, and thus quality of goods tends to go down, unless its the ultra elite stuff, and those prices are astronomical. a 1% decay on a 2 million set of composite, is simply not even worth pvping in.
2) so if they are able to equipt this high end armor and have a free pass, with no decay, that is good, but yet every wookiee who can not wear armor, is back in the same boat theyw ere before decay.....that is if 10 out of 10 who can wear armor will wear armor with no decay, they will wear it....compared to if 6 out of 10 will wear it based on decay. That is apropriate for the fact that wookiees have no armor.
maybe im getting to complicated, but if im reading what your saying correctly, then its both good and bad...still though anyone can use an armor repair tool, and why buy this to repair shield generators? why would a wookiee buy this ticket to repair armor they dont have?
yes others who can wear it will buy it if its 0 decay.

Personally, I think 50-100fp is well worth not losing a ton of extra condition decayed on my armor. That is one top-level faction mission. No problem at all.
This is all about armor, though. The double decay on armor and the fact that it is a straight percentage really hurts everyone, but simply enriches armorsmiths to an extreme degree. On my server it's already pointless to look for armor vendors. You have to make special orders and wait for those orders to be made. Any armor put out on the vendor is sold almost immediately for whatever price. Finding an available smith, waiting a week for crafting, paying upwards of 1 million credits on the best suit of armor, watching it double decay and then breaking upon repair 2 weeks after you bought it is one of the most frustrating things in the entire game.

Hurray for TH...
/sign... for this idea.
Now how soon can we get this into the game.
The guys are telling me Publish 7.

TH, please clarify:
Do we get no decay with this faction insurance or do we still have 1% decay? And this faction insurance is for PvP deaths only, right?
After Tuesday/Wednesday? LOL I made very sure that it means NO 1% decay when you buy this insurance "day pass" and yes, it is for PvP deaths.
NO NO NO. Let's not start this YET AGAIN. THIS is what you said, stick to it...
Me and nearly all our friends want our enemies to be punished when they die. There isnt a point of PVP if there is no penalty for losing (and no benifit for winning). And NO! the small amount of FPs arent enough!DEVS PLEASE KEEP DECAY!

I am a 100% supporter of Decay just to let everyone know. It's time to move on and get over it, otherwise state a valid argument to decay other than "You Lied!" or "My 15 bucks a month should cover it." TH will listen if you post something intelligent, and that's the truth.
Decay was said to be for the purpose of return business for armorsmiths and tailors. i cant think of anything else that is affected by decay right now, so please add in if i miss something here. it has been stated in this thread and others that:
1: armor already decays on its own and people have to buy more when it reaches 0 condition. also, repair kits only work best if used by armorsmiths. (not like they want to be annoyed by all their customers to repair their armor for them). so, if its already decaying, how is it good to add another type of decay in? wouldnt it be just as good to increase the decay time on armor if that was the reason behind it?
2: clothing decays on its own. however, it is still useable at 0 condition. this is a problem. one that tailors have been complaining about for a while. so tell me again how this helps tailors with repeat business??
I can't for the life of me comprehend how TH and other devs can think that this decay is balancing anything. It does not help the proffesions they say it is supposed to help. It will not promote PvP. It will only make this game that much more aggrevating. And the guy that said "My 15 bucks a month should cover it." has a point. I pay money to play a game for fun. This will not make it any more fun for us. The devssay they play this game but i am starting to seriously develop my doubts about all that.

Armor shouldn't decay at all...
Clothing decays, but at 0 condition it works just as well as 1000 condition...
For some reason tools suffer from decay (very odd IMO).
Aside from giving armorsmiths even more business, death and decay appears to have done little else. To be honest, I don't think Armorsmiths needed the additional business or even asked for armor to decay.
Perhaps it is time to rethink this?

Look at those numbers...I don't think there EVER has been a more clear reason to lose decay from PvP (In 2-3 hours of hard PvP, a player can spend 20-50K credits in insurance andlose 10-50% of their armors integrity)...TH's own words show this...but what he seems to miss is not everyone plays the faction part of this game...This would force them to start, but shouldn't that be up to them? and if so, if they choose to be nuetral, should they be denied any protection from decay?
Remember...armor repair is random no matter the players AS level...An Armorsmith Novice has just as much chance at a crititical fail as an Armorsmith Master when it comes to repair...even with a 99.8% repair kit...this is something that should be on the lists of fixes, but hasn't so far been fixed...
