I think it should be a set cost in faction points for 24 hours. 1k fp sounds about right. Also I think a good idea would be to have a criminal or smuggler type npc who will sell you this protection. Say 10-25k? Further there should be given to smugglers the ability to give that protection to other players. The smuggler goes and bribes a high ranking NPC and can enter the name of the player to be protected.

when i started i had no problem with corpse run. used to it from eq. the only problem was the high cost of insured items. leave insurance where it is and REMOVE DECAY totally. you don't insure then you have to make a corpse run. with vehicles it is not that bad. DECAY is bad. i won't pvp much cuase of the decay. i rather corpse run than have stuff decay. they decay enough in battle as it is.

COVERT = 4x normal amount

Remind me again why we need to pay MORE to PvP?

Read my previous posts about this. In all reality you should be paying us to PvP. This is NOT the way to get more people involved in the CGW and factional PvP. This idea is close to the top of the worst ideas ever. I know your just the messanger TH, and I hope you can see the idiocy in this idea, along with how fundamentally flawed it is. Right now armor takes a double shot at decay through normal wear and cloning while weapons only decay through use. Insurance was a poor idea to start off with, poorly thought out, poorly designed, and poorly justified. When was the last time you took out insurance for your jeans and t-shirt?Sounds silly doesn't it? If there has been one single thing that people have been asking for since it's inception, it's been the removal of the 1% decay for insured cloning.

you are wrong jeeves. most chances to PVP are on the fly. you cant just turn around and run the other way, run 4 missions to get the faction to get insured, and come back and expect the fight to remain. some of the largest pvp battles (i have screenshots of one with 200+ people) didnt last for more than 30 minutes...the rest of the night woulda been wasted...and if i had to run and do crappy missions i woulda been SOL.

stands to reason the only surefire way to get the faction quickly would be through a smuggler, which would cost you exactly what i said it would cost you if the smuggler was a high ranking imperial at the moment.

besides, hasnt anyone ever taught you to price things on a worst case scenario instead of the best case scenario? worst case involves me buying faction from a smuggler. just so happens that since PVP is pretty spontaneous, thats also the most logical and likely case.

Actually 200 faction points can be gained by doing a grand total of 3 or 4 faction missions. And thats at level five difficulty and minimal cost of repairs and the cloning you should have already done. Using the numbers from what it costs to by faction is distorting the real cost by using the cruddy system they have set up for buying faction.

By your math fluidscrrcom the best rebel faction pet would cost 40,000 credits and we know thats not the actual cost. Besides kill five people in PVP and 24 hours of inssurance is paid.

In the teams effort to resolve the PvP Death and Decay, what we are going to be able to implement (for publish 7), is a Faction Combat Day Pass. This "day pass" is Insurance.

You check in with your faction recruiter, purchase a day pass for faction combat (PvP and PvE), and for 24 hours, you will have no decay on your insured items.

How much do you think this should cost?

Do we purchase it with faction points or with credits?

If it's for credits, I believe it should be maybe... 5,000 credits for the day..?

If it's purchased with faction points, maybe 100 faction points?

Maybe the price should be less if you purchase while you are declared?

Being declared is key to having a healthy GCW.

honestly, i say the cheaper the better, but I think a reasonable price would be 150 FP. Would take 1.5 missions or so to get that much.

50-100 fp sounds about fair. Now please address the jedi questions everyone has been asking and getting ignored on.
