It was SOEs decision to make FRS faction based, and allow Jedi to pick factions. As long as the Jedi are part of GCW it does not make sense for factioned troops to attack them. A Jedi that is a colonel in the Imperial Forces should command respect.


Therefore, making the Dark Jedi be attacked by ALL is an unfair decision, and it would also give the rebel Jedi an unfair advantage as well. It is already bad enought that rebels outnumber Imperials (at least on my server), and the FRS bonuses favor the rebel Jedi over Dark Jedi, this would discourage even more Jedi from choosing the Dark side.

Furthermore, in regards to JTL, trainers for the imperial track are in imperial controlled cities (eg. Bestine), doing it this way would also lock out the Dark Jedi from JTL as there would not be a spaceport city where they would be safe where they can get missions etc. So, what have they spent their $29.95 for JTL for?


And, you will be locking out Dark Jedi from major planets.


Just too unbalanced and unfair.




I completely agree with this unless Jedi are given their own factions light and dark this is unacceptable.


Dark Jedi Knights are permanently declared Imperials according to current game design and should be treated the same as any other Imperial factioned player. Anything the movies or EU say is irrelevant in this case. Untill SWG is coded to be more like the movies and EU this will not work.

Since publish 9, Jedi lost this ability. With the advent of these new GCW changes, there has never been a more compelling time to ask for this ability to return.

Perhaps either a Jedi could automatically do it (like the old system) based on how many skill points are invested in Jedi skills (i.e. a % chance to avoid a scan)... OR the useless Master Force Powers skill "Jedi Mind Trick" could be modified to be a shield or reactionary ability that would enable a Jedi to avoid the scans.

This would be immersive, true to the movies, and a way for Jedi to stay clandestine while traveling.

Just a few thoughs, some of them have been posted already, but this thing has gotten so huge and they came to mind as I was pouring through all the posts


1) "Several years ago" (several indicating a number greater than three) there were no factions in this game. Why? There was no game. Three years ago even, there was only one faction, and we were the worshippers of the Shrub!

This game has not even been live for two years yet. Even so, I look forward to driving the Confederacy, I mean rebels from the sands of Tatooine!


2) As a person who falls squarely inot the "carebear" designation, I find it hilarious that we have been out "carebeared" by the neutrals. Good job guys.


3) When have you ever been scanned by the NPCs at a base? NEVER! They are not scan teams. Perhpas a scan team was near a base, but Base troops do not scan.


4)I'm not worried about scans.a) I have been fined a total of one time. Usually I have a crate of spice and all the sliced equipment I can packrat into my inventory. They always tell me to move along. Must be residual Smugglerluck. b) I will be set as combatant 90% of the time. Enemy NPCs will be set to KOS on me, so they won't be scanning. The other 10% I will be special forces or on leave. On leave I will be going to Endor for DWB runs.


5) No reason to bring planetary control to Lok, Lok has one city: Nym's. Now, in theory, they could beef up the imp base and put a starport in it, that might be nice, but otherwise it's just a big desolate rock (that used to be my home, so I do love it still). Not a lot to control there.


6) I hope to see Rori, Talus and Dantooine brought in however. Imps get the base of course, rebs can have Agro/Mining, leaving us to fight for MO.


7) Most of all tho:GREAT JOB AND SERIOUS CONGRATS TO THE DEV TEAM!

Would be unnecessary to remove the Jedi from their factions.

All that would allow is Neutral Knights, and what use would they be?

Knights are a PvP class, they need purpose.

imperial NPCs attacking imperial jedis is totally messed up.


If this goes into effectdark jedis will not be able to travel, even those who keep themselves a total secret and never spark saber in public need to travel to get buffs and heal fatigue.


unless darkjedis get autobuffers in their houses(which would be unreasonable), this idea is TERRIBLE.

Don't know if this has been touched on (WAY TOO MANY PAGES LOL) anyway, is there anyway that you can make sure that each city that is alway imperial and alway rebel (Like Theed - Imp and Moenia - Rebel) have a starport. I mean I'd like to be able to fly home to Tatooine from time to time but not having a place I can land and not get scanned if imperial controlled would be horrid (as in Anchorhead has no starport)

Easier Solution: Do not presume to know the will of the Emperor. He'd let Bothans think they pulled one over on him if it suited his ambitions. Throughout the films it's clear the Emperor believes in keeping his friends close, and his enemies closer.

you just don't get it do you. When you choose to be a Dark Jedi you are required to become imperial if you are already not one. if you can't see the irony in that you need to get yourself a ticket for the clue bus. so what pro's would someone have to become a Dark Jedi compared to a Light Jedi? not really any aside from the RP aspect. personally i think like others have said that all jedi should be expelled from the Rebel and Imperial factions upon completeing the knight trials. it would just be too messed up to push this with the way things are set up now.

i will say this about this part of the GCW revamp. even tho some parts seem flawed. it will encourage people to populate the other cities on the planets than just theed, Cnet, Mos eisley/bestine

How can you make is so that as Dark jedi the stronger we make planets with our imperial faction the more danger we face. The way the system is set up we are Imperials. There is no way we shoulkd be attacked by the faction we are fighting to put into power. This really needs to be rethought by you guys. Otherwise we will be poenalized for having a firm control on planets.
