Additionally, if a Jedi is scanned s/he runs the risk of being exposed. Should this happen, the police may panic and call for help, bringing a very powerful force on the Jedi. Note that Imperial allied police will call forces to attack any Jedi, regardless of faction. Rebel aligned police will only call guards to attack Dark Jedi.
And, you will be locking out Dark Jedi from major planets.
Just too unbalanced and unfair.
I completely agree with this unless Jedi are given their own factions light and dark this is unacceptable.
Dark Jedi Knights are permanently declared Imperials according to current game design and should be treated the same as any other Imperial factioned player. Anything the movies or EU say is irrelevant in this case. Untill SWG is coded to be more like the movies and EU this will not work.

Mr. Hanna,
Since you're monitoring this thread at the moment, I was wondering if possibly you could comment on this item related to what you just posted:
Back before Publish 9, Jedi had a limited, random ability to avoid a crackdown scan based on how advanced they were. Once they hit Padawan in the old system, a scan was basically guaranteed to be avoided with an automatic mind trick.
Jedi avoiding the scan, part 1
Jedi avoiding the scan, part 2
Those screenshots are my Jedi, then an Initiate, doing the auto-mind trick. It was one of the coolest things for immersion that happened in all my gaming experience.
Since publish 9, Jedi lost this ability. With the advent of these new GCW changes, there has never been a more compelling time to ask for this ability to return.
Perhaps either a Jedi could automatically do it (like the old system) based on how many skill points are invested in Jedi skills (i.e. a % chance to avoid a scan)... OR the useless Master Force Powers skill "Jedi Mind Trick" could be modified to be a shield or reactionary ability that would enable a Jedi to avoid the scans.
This would be immersive, true to the movies, and a way for Jedi to stay clandestine while traveling.
I thank you for your time and I eagerly await any comment you have. Thank you!
We are looking into this.
GreenMarine fixed this. Should be in the same publish as the GCW changes assumingthe fixpasses QA.

It was SOEs decision to make FRS faction based, and allow Jedi to pick factions. As long as the Jedi are part of GCW it does not make sense for factioned troops to attack them. A Jedi that is a colonel in the Imperial Forces should command respect.
Therefore, making the Dark Jedi be attacked by ALL is an unfair decision, and it would also give the rebel Jedi an unfair advantage as well. It is already bad enought that rebels outnumber Imperials (at least on my server), and the FRS bonuses favor the rebel Jedi over Dark Jedi, this would discourage even more Jedi from choosing the Dark side.
Furthermore, in regards to JTL, trainers for the imperial track are in imperial controlled cities (eg. Bestine), doing it this way would also lock out the Dark Jedi from JTL as there would not be a spaceport city where they would be safe where they can get missions etc. So, what have they spent their $29.95 for JTL for?

All that would allow is Neutral Knights, and what use would they be?
Knights are a PvP class, they need purpose.

Then just lets boot Jedi out of the factions then. Problem solved.

I have two problems and two solutions ....
PROBLEM: The Empire would NEVER allow a city to fly Rebel banners.
SOULTION: Rather than flying Rebel banners, let the cities fly the regular planet banners. Imperial cities should have Imperial banners, but if the Rebels take control of a planet/city, then the planet/city has been liberated and can fly it's own flags. Since SWG is promoting Coronet as being a city fighting to maintain its neutrality, then letting them fly Corellian flags rather than the Rebel flags would be more appropriate.
EasierSolution: The Empire dispatches its forces (players) to retake the city.Oh, and uh, Garm bel Iblis isn't exactly as neutral as he appears. Hopefully his quest dialogue will be updated. You did notice that the Rebel status of Coronet cannot be changed, right? Each side gets one of the two key starports, with the Empire in permanent control of Theed.
PROBLEM: The Emperor would not allow a city as close to his Retreat as Moenia to be Rebel controlled.
SOLUTION: Simply give the Rebels a different city on Naboo.
Easier Solution: Do not presume to know the will of the Emperor. He'd let Bothans think they pulled one over on him if it suited his ambitions. Throughout the films it's clear the Emperor believes in keeping his friends close, and his enemies closer.
you just don't get it do you. When you choose to be a Dark Jedi you are required to become imperial if you are already not one. if you can't see the irony in that you need to get yourself a ticket for the clue bus. so what pro's would someone have to become a Dark Jedi compared to a Light Jedi? not really any aside from the RP aspect. personally i think like others have said that all jedi should be expelled from the Rebel and Imperial factions upon completeing the knight trials. it would just be too messed up to push this with the way things are set up now.

As far as dark Jedi having a disadvantage by being hunted by all the npcs instead of half like the rebel jedi, again I say tough. As far as Palpatine is concerned (star wars reference...careful for all those non-star wars fans who expect the game not to be star wars) he doesnt want anyone but him and vader, only two sith there are...a master and apprentice, every other jedi is a threat. If you dont like that plot line, then you dont like star wars...move on. I think that pretty much tidies up all the complaints.
