Between publish 9 and publish 10, what happens? Quests will not be in, but this system looks like it's based on what will come.
Yes or No: Will we be able to unlock by way of profession grinding during this period?

Why did you not address any of the top five issues we as a community put forward? I am VERY disappointed in this "revamp". Jedi councils? Are you kidding? In this timeline? I have to "break" my saber - the one I leveled to 4444 guardian with? As a current 4444 guardian I don't even start the new system as JEDI KNIGHT? Are you INSANE? I dont see ONE damn good thing in this revamp - or one reason to continue to give Sony my money. TOTAL FAILURE. Try to find a doc in coronet that is going to buff an OVERT and get the TEF.
Do you guys EVEN play this game????? Light jedi have to be politicians and we have to WIN elections for skill mods? **edit** is this? SURVIVOR? TOTALLY disappointed.
Will the new robes be as effective as my 90% sliced composite with a stun layer and a PSG? Will I be able to heal states while KD'd and Dizzy? DO YOU KNOW ONE DAMN ISSUE that really matters to the players that actually slug through this borked code of yours? Will double bladed lightsabers be something other than a total joke? WIll offensive force specials (lightning, weaken, etc.) actually be worth a damn and the high level of force it takes to use them?

Under the new system will we be less than an hour away from Jedi Master. If it is not AP points, then we want to know if it is something similar and the same no risk one hour or so leveling time to accomplish Master.
We consider "Guardian-4-4-4-4 Jedi" to essentially be Master Jedi. They will be considered to have completed their advancement andwill be allowed to advance to maximum amount of the Jedi skill boxes.
So i go from the promise of being a Jedi Master to being transitioned in as a PADAWAN??? Yeah from FORCE MASTER to Padawan that sounds like a great transition.
Stop worrying about what your title is.Everything is changing, including what powers you will have access to. Voting,or dueling, will only come into play if two high level Jedi are completely tied with their ranking points, which will probably be a rare occasion. And as for your complaint about finding a Doc to buff you when you're Overt, did you even stop to consider that perhaps Jedi will be able to buff themselves and wont even need a Doc? I'm willing to bet the reason the Devs have upped the stakes is not only to help control the Jedi population, but also because they are making Jedi more powerful than they currently are. Stop crying like a baby about something you haven't even tried yet. For all you know this could turn out to be awesome. And for the timeline, screw it,the timeline this game is supposed to be set in is boring. I just consider this game to take place in an alternate StarWars universe...kinda like fan fiction.
Hello Kurt ![]()
If somebody who doesnt want to become a Jedi (i.e. myself) and opens a second character slot, may both characters be usedfor Non Jedi professions?
If so then Mules will be starting to appear which would lower the market prices on some products.
Won't this lead to the entire game being jedi knight online?

I understand this is a game Arayden. This IS, however, set in the Star Wars time period where Jedi are rare, possibly non-existant. That may not mean much to you, but to me, it does. It is my opinion - end of line.
I do care, and that would guarantee me not playing this game anymore. I'm paid thru August, so we shall see if I renew.
Why, oh why, can't people just go play Jedi Academy if they want to be Jedi? Why doesn't SOE and the Devs see this? Because, they are too busy seeing $$$.
This argument is getting very old. Why does anyone insist that their experience of the SWG game exists between the same film strips produced from where cameras were pointed at the chosen one (Anakin), his son (Luke) and the small group of people surrounding them in the six films produced by George Lucas?
In relation to this game, those six filmsare focus stories of ONE facet of the Star Wars Expanded Universe that most agree is so multifacted that thousands of other stories were occurring simultaniously. Granted, it was a great set of films and a key part of the timeline as it impacted a central "shatterpoint" for success or failure between the old republic, rebellion and the empire. Just because the cameras did not capture hundreds of other Jedi off doing things in other parts of the galaxy, does not mean they didn't exist.
This game is about YOUR story,MY story and the story of all those other folks who log into the Star Wars Galaxy. If you are frozen in the foundation of only what was filmed and can't use imagination to escape that limitation and explore your story beyond the films, then perhaps your renewal will be a challenge for you. I urge you to open your mind, and adapt to this expansion of the spirit of the films, books and EU.
But there lies the problem. Those of us who just want to play in a Star Wars world, those of us who want to be a soldier or a commander in the GCW will be pushed aside by these changes. It will become impossible to fight in the GCW without a Jedi, it will become impossible to compete as a crafter or ranger without force sensitivity, it will become impossible to play the game in ANY WAY other than as a Jedi.
If this "Jedi War" you envision(which is never mentioned in any book, film, comic or other medium, funnily enough) comes into fruition, it should be secretive, it should be behind the scenes. But it wont be, because all you will see is Jedi PvPing in towns, Jedi killing Stormtroopers, Jedi AFK spamming the sales of lightsaber componants, Jedi forming solo-hunting groups, after all, how is a mere Stormtrooper suppost to stand against a mighty Jedi?
Not only do you have the fact that Jedi will be everywhere, but you have the fact that people can either have two Jedi(meaning the current Jedi Death System will NOT work, how could it, when people can simply switch to their SECOND Jedi character when the first gains its maximum DPW(deaths per week)), but you have the fact that many Bounty Hunters will simply take up a Jedi character, resulting in even less control over the Jedi population.
I would accept these changes without question on two conditions: remove the ability to have the second character slot become a Jedi, or even gain force sensitivity(if crafters are forced to get FS to compete, at least dont let the mule characters of Jedi wipe out what remains of the economy), and restore Jedi Permadeath. That, combined with all the other factors SHOULD keep the Jedi in check, and maintain at least SOME semblance of continuity and immersion.
I like this game too much to quit, and until it shuts down I will probably stick around, but Im going to visit towns as little as possible if these changes go through without some concessions to non-Jedi players, I just couldnt stand seeing the first "Jedi Army" attack a city.
even if this game was extremly bugged in the first time i am glad i played it when there were no jedis running around..
I like how muchthe system is instituted and believe it will work out better than the current hologrinding/macro-grinding system, but my main concern is for all those people who were looking forward to creating a NEW toon and using that as their Jedi, either because a) they didn't like the concept of using their main as their Jedi because itis fairlyestablished and well-known and thereby easy to track down/identify, b) because they didn't like their current race's stats to be used for Jedi, or c) because they wanted the ability to still play their main when their Jedi was unavailable/problematic/etc. The way the system is outlined (at least, in my interpretation of TH's comments), your main now is forced to give up all skills to become a Jedi and your secondary (when opened) is a completely new character - you now have to work TWO characters from scratch if you wish to play both a non-Jedi and a Jedi. All those who unlocked before this new system will be at an advantage, they have their alternate (their "mule" in many cases, giving them a definiteeconomic advantage) completely built plus a working Jedi, meanwhile those who have been hologrinding and may likely not unlock before the revamp are doomed to MORE work in this system.
I believe the secondary character should be your FS character, since you only get it when you complete the Jedi Trials anyway. Why not just start that character at the Padawan level that was attained from the Trails and turn off any FS abilities that exist inthe main in exchange for this?
