Thread: Corellian Corvette Feedback
mattpost wrote:10 pages of complainingDon' they get itThis is not realistic
Nearly a year of simple to fix bugs that are still not dealt with, don't you get it? The dev team has no desire to fix significant problems. Take the corvette as it is or move on, I seriously doubt that they will fix many of the major problems it has.
If one's group is weak enough that they do not have a shot at completing and want to leave early, then they probably will be unable to actually make it across the ship to the escape pods. Especially since by that point you've been killed enough that you're totally black barred and your armor is dust.
Really, I don't like to complain all that much and I usually believe that the devs really want the best for the game... but the whole thing seems like it was laid out to be a big F-U to the players.
It was great. My group went in and got slaughtered, but we had so much fun. I say maybe incrase the amount of people that can enter, but if not...oh well.
In this game where people can solo most of the static content I think it's great that they put in a challenge for the player that has mastered their profession. As for the people that haven't finished their templates...there are plently of places to go until you are up the the corvette's level.
I simply love thefact that it is so tough. Keep it just the way it is....hard.
The corvette rocks and is a nice challenge for high level groups seeking a challenge.
Don't nerf it.
You have no idea what you are talking about. If we had the 2 other rifleman in my guildwith us we would have finished it.

wow, thats great. we even have artisans and entertainers complaining now. lol.
Good jobon the corevette Devs. Its about time we get some hard content in this game. Keep this stuff coming. A small group went out last night (4 of us total), and we werent able to finish it (almost, but ran out of time). This will actually provide some much needed content to this game.
Not being able to cruise through the missions like everything else in this game is a good thing. My guild is looking forward to completing all 3 missions, no matter how long it takes us.
Don't listen to the whiners and lower the difficulty.
Your full of crap. no way did you nearly finish it, stop spwewing garbage out of your mouth.
I do find it curious that those who claim that the Corvette's well done and that they appreciate the difficulty... often haven't been able to finish it themselves, even uber buffed, armored, and backed with 9 of their elite pals. Their announcement that it's not too hard really has little merit until they themselves can complete it with regularity. Otherwise, it's just empty, uber "don't listen to the whiners" posturing.
My thoughts on it after my first trip.
It's hard, and that's absolutely great. Finally something that isn't a piece of cake. It takes a good group, teamwork, and even with those you don't always win. That's a good thing.
That said, I question if the risk/reward balance is slightly off compared to other encounters. Maybe this is because everything else is too easy, or the loot is too good elsewhere, but this is still a valid concern. The corvette is harder than anything else to an extreme, but is the loot that much better? I don't really know the answer since I haven't seen it all, but I would find it hard to believe that it can be that much better than everything else (because it would require the items to be godly, given the difficulty).
Second concern is the problem with using area attacks, specifically for me this is rifleman cone type attacks, which are by far the most effective tool in my arsenal. These are almost completely out of the question in the corvette, as using them will aggro tons of mobs that should definitely not be hit. This is a bug, it happens everywhere, but this is the one place where it really hurts the most.
Third concern is the way death is handled. This is simply unacceptable and a fun killer imho. After you die, something else needs to happen. With no way to insure your items, rebuff, or eat more food, or anything, the possibility for catastrophic loss is too great. I'd be happier if getting killed just took you straight back to the planet.
I'd be even happier if a more elegant solution could be implemented. Why not have you respawn in a safe area, let's say the shuttle that delivered you there, with the opportunity to insure your items and possibly rebuff before jumping back into the fray? Or at the very least have yourself respawn in a safe area with the option to leave (again, this could simply be a safe room decorated like a shuttle, with the pilot standing there who you can instruct to fly you back to the planet, aborting the mission). You could even make this mission abort have a moderately high faction penalty. There's lots of things like this that you could do that would not make the mission any easier to complete, but lessen the chance for catastrophic loss (which is entirely unnecessary).
