You're probably right. I'm sure the space part will work well by itself. I'm more concerned with how it integrates with the ground game. There's still he matter of the shipwright profession, crafting ships, upgrading ships, transitioning from ground game to space game, etc. That stuff worries me.

So much hate.... and my post won't be any different so you SOE fan boys can back off.

Shame on SOE for doing this. Here we are 1 year into the game and we get this. Whats left in this game? Jedi and pvp and jedi becomes pvp, so PVP!!! Who wants to pvp when they can't enjoy proffessions cause only 3-4 rule ATM. I have stopped PVPing for about 2-3 months now (since CMs have ruled all battles on ahazi) I was looking forward to the balance to actually have fun in the game, now you are telling me I have to put up with this BS for another 6 months or a year? HELL NO!

Very sad day for SWG and all players who were looking forward to getting back into the game like we were months ago, but instead we get a slap in the face. I had consider canceling my account till aug when the combat balance was suppose to happen, but now I just assume do it now and wait for another game to pop up.

As a star wars fan since age 4,I had been looking forward to a game that put me in the SW world and you guys failed......

As a MMORPG fan your adding new content before fixing new stuff, daily server resets even after a year to get thing tweaked, and other stuff that has already been mentioned here was very poorly done.

Your msg topic wasalso poorly writen and dishonest as almost 75% of the things you guys have been saying since this all started.

What I wouldn't give for WOW to have been out for a year or so and those guys getting the contract to make a star wars game, but now SOE just messed up a great thing.

Anyway after i hit submit post I'll be also hitting cancel on both my accounts.

Very sad day for SWG players.............

I'M NEW!

I think you underestimate SOE's power to take great potential and do exactly the opposite of what would make it shine. This thread alone proves the level they work at.

If everyone sent in $5 in the mail to the devs, would they change their mind?

But seriously, why don't you put up a poll Thunderheart? I dare you.

Question: Which should we work on first?

Choice 1) Jump to Lightspeed

Choice 2) Combat Rebalance

Wait a week even. Let the passions die down a little (without wasting too much time).

I'm sure you can guess that 95% of the players are upset with this announcement. But i'm not going to say anything that hasn't already been say. I just hope you guys realize that you have just place the 3rd nail on the coffin of this game... There's still a chance for SOE to save this game from what seems to be curtain death. Please take my words as advise, and nothing else;

You are treading on egg shells. Between now and the revamp the things you say and do will impact the future of this game more so than anything that has been said or done in the past. All we ask is that you give as close to 100% effort and to keep us a bid more informed than we have been in the past. You've already lost a nice chunk of people, they are gone. What's important now is the group that are still around.

Good luck

All right, but apart from the sanitation droids, bionic limbs, hyper-drive, moisture vaporators, galactic order, abolisment of slavery, star charts, the compact and efficient central government and interplanetary free trade, what has the Empire ever done?"

Thunderheart can you please respond to these questions:

  • Can the development team please provide the community with a valid reason for pushing back the combat revamp?

The most important reasons are:

  • I understand that there are many people against having Jedi in the game, but it is part of the game. En masse, the community was adamant that we change the holocron/professions system and that time is now. Given the effort that went in to publish 9, we needed to clear the schedule and make room for publish 10 to do a better job on it. The Jedi system needed to be changed because it was effecting everyone. That is why it had the shceudling priority that it has.

  • The Combat Balance is a huge publish and will have as much code in it as a console game. Its huge. We need the expertise and the manpower to do it correctly.

With all due respect, why release a expansion pack before fixing problems already existing within the game?

I would start with "With all due respect", but you used it =P, soin short and with respect, this isn't "just an expansion". This is Space. Space is something that everyone wanted at launch and Space is needed to create the Star Wars experience.

The other side of that is that JTL has been in production since January. We can't delaysix and half months of work for something that really makes Star Wars what it is.

Assuming theexpansion will have a few problems, wouldn't that just create alarger backlog for you guys, and take time away from other problems?

Those integration problems are being accounted for and that's why we needed more scheduling time. Publish 10 and taking the extra time to make integration with the ground game smoother is the time from the schedule that was needed. All in all, they were very difficult decisions to make.

Your community wants the combat balance ASAP. If you did a poll right now, you would find that out, we've had to play in an unbalanced combat system for 12+ months, we're sick and tired of it, and we want it fixed, NOW.

Back at launch, everyone didn't know about the glaring problems that would be present in the combat system, so we thought bigger and better, which ended up with us wishing for Space.

It would be nice if you listened to your customers, instead the player base is about to plummet because of your "schedule changes".

This is very disheartening news.

I was hanging around for the combat balance and the gcw revamp.

I understand that and I've asked the mods to NOT delete anything unless it breaks our posted community policies.

As for 1 star bandits? I can't do anything about that.

Excellent Post TH, I must say, we needed to hear all that. Well formulated with good intentions.

So from reading your follow-up posts, Jedi and Creature Handlers will be "balanced" again under the current system due to the delay. IE: Jedi being given temporarily more power to compensate, and the same for CH's? Please confirm, as I know many Jedi & CH's alike will like to hear this.

I realise thisis more than just a knee jerk reaction from the community but such is life. It's not the end of the world, maybe the SWG universe as we know it, but I really think some people are taking this a bit too seriously.

I for one look forward to what the devs have in store for us. I know there are still some people on that team who care about their work and the product that is SWG.

And I could very easily be negative being a smuggler myself but these types of responses are being counter productive.

This is the crossroads people. You know, the time's in life where you have to make that decision. You are either in or you're out. If you're in than let's give TH all the support that he needs to make this game what we always hoped it would be!

I for one can't wait till JTL hits the stores and am waiting till JTL comes out to recruit some of my real life pals to give it a try.

TH, hang in there bro. There are still folks in the community who support you. Good Luck!

The development cycle still has momentum and we still have some other important items, big and small, coming out of the pipeline. Here is what still lies ahead:

  • Before publish 10, we plan on launching the character transfer system

  • In Publish 9.2 We’re publishing Wookiee armor sets #2 and #3, new crafting quests and the second swoop race

  • Publish 9.3 will bring us the third swoop race

  • Publish 10 will be the Jedi Trials. This will be the new gateway to the Jedi profession that will by a mysterious path to unlocking Force sensitivity.

  • Publish 10.1 is going to bring us an exciting surprise and also a list of Correspondent requests

  • Publish 10.2 is focused on the entertainers which features a unique new game experience where entertainers, Dancers and Musicians can perform for an NPC audience for the reward of a new song and dance.
Publish 10 is slated for the end of August, but one of the reasons for these delays is to make as much room as possible for extra implementation and testing time.

When was it decided that the path to FS would be "mysterious"? On my last look at the poll you put up it was in favor of "known".

I really hope you are not going to penalize all of us that refused to Holo grind.
