Thread: Jedi Revamp Phase I
Well i hate to see such obvious disreguard for the people of this community.
I know everyone at SOE has jobs and other things to do, but when you post something so controversal and don't have someone dedicated to at least check the topic once every so many hours just leads me to think you guys lack some serious leadership.
I also find it highly offensive that you have "cryptic" statements and follow up answers to people who pay you for simple, clear, and timely answers. I also would to point out these people also pay you to fix the game issues that have been around almost since the launch date.
Not being a stranger to MMOs I must say there is always a feel of a Beta type restructure to certain things, however i haven't seen enough basic "fixes" to indicate to me you guys have a proper goal when it comes to this game.
I as well as the majority of my friends feel that instead of taking pride in the concept and betterment of the intial idea of SWG.. you have fallen victim to the $$$ers. Let's face it things that are broke in the game have been addressed for so long that it's just silly that they havent been fixied.
Maybe it's not SWG divisions fault. Maybe it's SOE itself. I wish i could see how you guys are broken down. Exploit divison, CSR divison, Concept Divison, Fix it Divison, and finally Forum Profession Liaison division, etc etc. That would make some sense to me. Instead i get the feeling everyones name is placed in a hat and the names are drawn at random for the divison you will be working at for that day.
All i have to say is this was a great concept and unfotrunaly the Devs and Management have totally ruined it and my enjoyment of the game.
Like i stated in my last post. I don't mind spending money to play MMOs, and i don't mind taking my money elsewhere, and with that I hope you guys nail this issue down before April the 28th when City of Heros goes live.
Instead of worrying about how to bring new players in, you might want to figure out how to keep existing player from leaving.
Hint********* If you fix it they will play *************
P.S. For all those on tempest it's been a blast playing with you.. I shall miss HAKD and there rebel killing prowess. You guys are the best PvP guild that i have seen in a long time. Honorable Mention to IOI and UF .. good luck to you guys.. the Empire will truly win on Tempest hands down. If the new PvP jedi gets in i would almost pay to see you guys go off on poor Rebels. If you guys get bored come look for me on City of Heros..
Cry us all a river...
People, why is it so hard for you to understand that YOU DO NOT BECOME A JEDI UNLESS YOU PURSUE THE QUESTS.

Iguess it's hard for some people to understand that paying to become somethingunder system 1 and put inX hrs/months/money on itto have it then change andhave it said tobad so sad in so many words just isn't RIGHT for those people who have done it.
Also i find it so funny thatpeoplesaythis:
Oh gee, I wanna be a jedi so I am gonna be ...umm... a Master Chef! Yeah, because this holo said so!!"
I could only be bothered reading the 1st 3 pages after that it got monotonous. I've been playing this game for 8 months fairly happy with the way it was going. Then at Christmas we were "gently" nudged to grind the Holo's. I like many decided to do this and as of now am on the brink of reaching my 5th "silent" Holo.
I know people have already voiced this concern but the more the merrier and hopefully when the Dev's release information in the future they may think about clarifying it a bit better to stop the wave of confusion. I would like to know that for those of us that have not unlocked the FS slot but who are madly grinding to do so, that our efforts will not go unnoticed or unrewarded. The Devs put the Holo's into the game meaning for us to grind, now they are changing the rules supposedly for the better, well thats great except for the people who have been grinding for 4 months or longer to become a jedi. So please if anyone of any note is reading this forum, please come out and clarify all these questions, I can see that if this is done poorly the rate of disconnections will sky rocket.
I may be confused but as far as I know, a Jedi only has to turn on their lightsaber and they get a TEF that makes them attackable by anyone. I also believe that if Jedi are too active doing force things, BH can be missions to hunt them. In both cases this is PvP and the Jedi has no option to avoid it.
Just because the Jedi do not go around attacking players, the fact that they can be attacked places them right in the middle of PvP.

Leana you are correct about the TEF, but that doesn't mean PvP is inevitable. I have been scanned by STs and made overt many times as a rebel and no player engaged me in combat because I didn't give them time to. I hopped my speeder and took off. In addition, I have run rebel missions many times and gotten a TEF and not once have I been attacked by an imperial player while TEF'd. I have engaged in ST mowing (in Kor Vella) several times and, of course had a TEF. Only once in Kor Vella while TEF'd did I encounter an imperial player and he was the unfortunate victim of a rebel CM. I am careful, clever, and cautious. All traits that I am sure Yoda would say are good traits for a jedi to have, and I am not even remotely a jedi.
PvP while TEF'd is not an inevitable consequence. If a jedi is careful, then he/she can be TEF'd and not encounter another player during the TEF time limit.
Once again, TEF does NOT equal PvP.
You can be FS and get to Jedi Knight... that requires unlocking the FS slot
THEN when you get to Jedi Knight you will have to "unlock" to go further along? Am I getting that right?
However, this sounds MUCH better than the new system.. I would suggest that you DO NOT change the current jedi over to the new system.. I.E. leave the old jedi in and force them to work through the new system. I know it sucks to hologrind, but if the new system is quest oriented and immersive (like we all hope it will be) then I know I will want to start my jedi over so that I can go through the quests and the content.
Oh I just came up with this
Give the current jedi the option to instantly have FS on their "main" so that they can try the new stuff out.
So does this mean my character is effectively being exiled from the community if I want to pursue becoming a Jedi?
What happens to my current lots if I decide to follow the jedi path under this new system with my main character? Does this mean I lose my house, city citizen status, & lots until I reach Knight and get a regular character again?
Seems this new system will be just as bad for the community as the last one....
What happens to the holo grinders that haven't unlocked?

They get to play through the new quest system in Publish 10.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?
Please, use small words, for thoose of us in the cheap seats ![]()
(For heavens sake, PLEASE get us some enlightenment today!)
