I take it the Imperials will still be given 100% immunity to scans, thereby essentially giving them skills that Smugglers had to invest skill points to get, huh?
only high ranking imps like colonels will get a pass on smuggle checks
Wrong.
If you had been reading TH's posts on the subject in the In Development forum you would know that all Imperials are still subject to scans. The penalties for an Imperial are caught with contraband are as follows:
Low ranking soldiers (i.e. enslisted personnel) will have to swear an oath to the Emperor and pay a fine.
Junior officers may pay a smaller fine.
Higher ranking officers will be saluted by the NPC, and told 'Carry on, Sir'.

If you're going to tell someoneelse they're wrong, at least get it right:

Well, seeing as the number of Overt Imperials has just skyrocketed in anticipation of the upcoming gank-fest aided by beefed up stormtroopers who don't give FP, I'm glad they managed to get no decay in
And yes, I play on a server with more Imperials than Rebels. Not every server have an Imperial faction that is incompetent in the most Star Warsy GCW Imperial department, propagandaFirst... Unless it's an European server I don't believe you on the numbers thing.Second... Even if a bunch of Imperials were turning Overt now to get ready for a gank fest as you call it, why would a rebel need to travel to an Imperial controlled city anyways? Lol, I'm sure there is something you just have to go and see in Kor Vella isn't there
uh...yeah.
the teras kasi artist trainer for corellia is in kor vella.

sorry but im not readding thought 10 pages of smuggler questions, but why on this green earth does a master artisan item need a novice droid engi item!? why?! is this an over site?
because its a MMORPG -- Massively Multiplayer Online Roleplaying Game
all you need to do is gofind a Novice DE to sell you the component. make friends with him/her and you can even go back for another one.
I know it's a bit to ask but is there anyway a forum admin could delete the 9 pages of smuggler whining crap so the rest of the community can actually get some feedback on the publish?

Am I out of line asking for detailed patch notes as we've gotten in the past?
They are up now. We are doing some back end changes that caused a slight delay.
For future reference, you can always find them on the web site though under Recent Updates

Tommm70, grief players dont ruin MMOs, its all the carebears, people who cry for nerfs rather than balance and the devs that give inthat ruin every MMO.
UO was destroyed by carebearing and handling everything with kiddie gloves, it just became boring and repetitive. DAoC was destroyed by people crying nerf about one class after another until the game became based completely on what class youchose rather than how skilled you were or how well youplanned your equipment setup.
As for all the cries of 'i pwned you d00d', 'u suxx0r',cheating accusationsand all that other pathetic stuff that 12 year old american kids seem to think is great. Learn to ignore them, or just laugh at their lack of maturity and proceed to kill them again. Either that or move to europe, as it seems more common to actually praise someone for a good skillful kill rather than whine or brag about it.
Unless you remove PvP completely you will never be free from griefers, and even then they will find ways around it. e.g. like pulling agro onto people in EQ.
Rebel players will just have to be more careful and thoughtful about their actions. If they take the right precautions they can minimise the risk. TEF is bad, its open to abuse from so many angles its unreal. Rebel vs Imperial is the PvP on SWG, if you sign up to one side you have signed up to being open to PKs. There are plenty of non-rebel/imperial NPCs of similar difficulty available in the game that dont leave you open to PvP.
Shilak, I do agree carebears ruin the game. Trammel definetly destroyed UO. Though OSI denies this, it is a fact the game completely changed once Trammel was added.
DAOC is a great example of nerfbats gone wild. The PVP idea in that game is perfect though, no talking to other factions makes it much more enjoyable. Unfortunatly there is no way to implement that type of thing into SWG.
I am no carebear, like I said, I used to like PVP in this game. I really hope this crackdown scenario works out.
Thanks for the intelligent response.
