Basically, IMHO, the game is ruined. The whiners and complainers have successfully ruined the whole idea. Basically what has happened here is... The people who worked hard and grinded their Jedi are now in the same league as those people who were lazy and instead of grinding their Jedi they went off and exploited a few holocrons and than proceeded to make tons of cash in a profession. So what we have now is grinded Jedi's with no credits (poor) and the lazy Jedi's with tons of credits (whiners and complainers).
Why should these lazy players benefit from both their laziness and their holocron exploits? Obtaining Jedi status should be a tough road. We all thought that SOE finally realized this in Patch 10 but now, in the last week, this will change yet again to make it terribly easy. And to further add insult to injury, we will have hundreds of newbie Jedi's with no experience in the grind (hard work) bothering people yet again as we did pre-patch 9.
I seriously hope this decision re-considered for the negative ramifications it will have.Look, you call me lazy? I unlocked just a week past P9 came to live. I mastered almost everything (28 masters). Just because I was late by only one week you are calling me lazy? Yes I did credit grinding by doing missions, yes I was selling crafted stuff, yes I was selling resources and loots, you call me lazy for that? Yes I helped alot of newbies to become successfull in game, to get fun of it - you call me lazy for that? Yes I made alot of friends ingame - you call me lazy for that?
I'm not the only one who did that I know more people did the same thing as I did. We are the game elders, who are the heart and soul of the game. Why disapoint us? Why make us nervous? Why lie to us?
You apparently misunderstood who my message was directed to. The message was directed to those who didn't bother at all to grind any professions. You, after grinding that many professions should be entitled to the padiwan trials (Jedi initiate) but those that didn't even come close should not be entitled to anything. Those that decided to stop grinding after 4 holocrons and began making credits instead don't deserve anything. Why should laziness be rewarded?

No, you misunderstood me. I should get a grant of padawan as was in the official posts. And with that a grant of 2nd character slot.

Why should you not have to do the trials? You didn't complete the objective to do so. Not anyone elses fault but yours that you didn't complete it. I'm sorry if you didn't join the game in time or you decided to endeavor into other things and not complete the objectives but how is this our fault? What you seems to be saying is that I, because I joined too late to take advantage of the holocron exploit or because I wasn't here in time to grind out 32 professions, that I have the right to do that now? Those that completed the objective unlocked. Those that didn't will have to get with the new way of doing it. The game will go through revolutions over the next years to come.

BS, I read all official posts carefully, especially those regarding Jedi. I was reading in there that those who unlock before P10 will be granted 24 FS boxes and Jedi Padawan and with that a second slot. If you think that I didn't compleate objetive (unlocking before P10) you are terribly wrong. And if you are planning on insultin people further more this is not right tread for that.

What about the people who have stuck with their profession since launch, not wanting to become a dancer or image designer? Tough luck right?

Yes basically....You obviously did not want a jedi or u would have followed the chosen path.

Wrong sir. I obviously didnt have the time or want to spend all my online time mindlessly grinding through professions that I have no interest in being.

Thats totally fair enough, if u did not want to grind proffs good on you, your choice. Unfortunatly,u did not take part in this system,,for whateva reason...how can u expect rewards for something u have not done?
lol. Well if you stuck with the profession since launch, then why are you posting here? You have what you want - a profession you want. If you did not want to do what holocron said so why would there be any rewards? Am I not right here?
I agree entirely with the above and Excellent work. It is good that the people who did exactly what all the other Jedi had to do before Publish 10 will get Jedi as they should. Thank you and good work!

Now as has been stated before this is how it should be for non unlockers
1 Holocron = 20% of the boxes and the xp for those boxes 5 boxes and 1,275,000 FS XP
2 Holocrons = 40% of the Boxes and the xp for those boxes 10 Boxes and 2,550,000 FS XP
3 Holocrons = 60% of the boxes and the xp for those boxes 15 Boxes and 3,825,000 FS XP
4 Holocrons = 80% of the boxes and the xp for those boxes 20 Boxes and 5,100,000 FS XP
Now this leaves all the professions people grinded trying to find the elusive Silent Profession. Instead of saying they arent worth anything Have them Turn in FS XP. not box unlocks just XP to put towards boxes in the branches you unlock from the quests you need to do. Maybe have it so each profession is worth 100,000 FS XP. This way All Hologrinders get the same credit for the Holocrons in branch and XP unlocks. But then the People Who Grinded all the extra professions trying to Unlock would recieve credit for those other professions simply in xp instead of more unlocks.
Holocrons were the way to Jedi. Many of us worked hard or paid a lot of credits to get them and them to grind out the professions. The devs put them in game to show you the path to jedi. Completing them should be rewarded.

I sit here and read all tha is going on and become sadend at what i can forsee happening although i truely hope i am wrong . i am 1 of your long time players although i did not start right at the begining when the game first came out i was in it shortly after so i have ben through alot in this game and that means alot of changes and complitcations .
i can say i commend all the people that unlocked there jedi by doing 6 to 8 professions and then rubed it in our faces that they have there jedi and now the people that unlocked theres and wait for pub 10 to get there prise .now what i see comming is that those of us that have done alot of profs but havent unlocked -we are told yes what you get will be fair but when it comes down to it who decides what is fair ? i spent alot of time helping build and run one of the largest guilds and citys on the gorath server and i still manged to dredg out 17 profs on top of it and also managed to go try out every planet and every bunker cave and space station in the game and now they change the jedi system on us great the grind is over -well kind of any ways - but after ive have put in allthat time doing my stuff and trying to unlock only to be told i have to jon the lag fest and do a bunch of quests and spend many more months to gain what i have spent enough time on already ? unless like the unlockers as you call them i get my second slot and set as a padawan to start my jedi skilling grind then i dont think what we get is really gona be all that fair -dont get me wrong if someone did 5 proffs and think they need to get the same that is not right but any one that has done 15 or more should be pushed to the front if ya know what i mean . that all is some true food for thought and i hope we see fairness on the 31st --keep in mind we are not oil mines so dont give us the shaft!!!!!!
It is sad as it is. There is no actual way to measure player's effort in the game to help each other and make gameplay more exciting to everyone involved. But for sure the players who did the grinding and were still playing must get their reward as posted before and as was stated officially. So there is a lack of info on how they will be rewarded.
I know the deadline for publish is there it means that dev team needs very fast decidions made. Let's hope that in all this rush they won't let us down. Let's hope that they hear us and make decidions right for everyone including those who were unlocked in P9 and those who did the efort but were unsuccessfull.
What I suggest is do the following:
* P9 unlockers shoud be granted 24 FS boxes and Padawan made.
* Those who used holocrons (at least once) and mastered number of professions should get FS xp accordingly of what they mastered. They also should get some FS branches unlocked. The Holocrons didn't say everyone what to master equally some players got "silent" right after mastering 1st holo profession, some after 3rd, some after 4th (in my case it was after 2nd) so measuring by that number would be unfair, just by total number of masters and the fact that player used a holocron and did what it said.
Some info about my path to become a jedi... I was one of the late commers I started playing SWG in february 2004, I was total newbie in these days I was so casual so "green". I met people there, made friends, learned about gameplay anddid everything on my own. My interest in jedi profession started to grow in early april (the actual time when I started doing holos) in that time I was slow and inefficient so I did like a few masters in a whole month. The real mastering for me began in may I lost the count of professions and ... Well there P9 came to live, I was in the middle of mastering my 27th profession when that happened. Ifound in official (SOE) posts that if I unlock in P9 I still get my jedi at padawan level and second slot (usual non FS character), so I continnued my progression and after a few days (not full week) I mastered my 28th profession and got a message that I'm unlocked and my powers won't be available until P10. I was so happe when I got that message
... Well I got more than a month of waiting. I was dreaming about the day when the P10 goes live and I will be able to use my 2nd character and make him what I want to. BTW I purchased 2nd account (a few months ago) as I found many professions I want to use and I also bought (yet to come) a 3rd account because of that.
SOE, don't let us down, please. Don't make people loose faith in you.
Amen.
Exit Quest is where the Old Man meets you again and sends to to attack a 55K HAM 80% resists NPC. deending on skills that all varies time wise on you.
Now as has been stated before this is how it should be for non unlockers
2 Holocrons = 40% of the Boxes and the xp for those boxes 10 Boxes and 2,550,000 FS XP
3 Holocrons = 60% of the boxes and the xp for those boxes 15 Boxes and 3,825,000 FS XP
4 Holocrons = 80% of the boxes and the xp for those boxes 20 Boxes and 5,100,000 FS XP

So: Intro Quest, Exit Quest, and on to Padawan. You can still do the Force Sensitive quests if you desire to gain their specific rewards.
What a crap!?
We unlocked! That means we mustget second character slot. We were promised to get the second character slot if we unlock before P10. I was unfortunate to unlock just a week after P9 came live. I think it's not fair! You hear me?
Where's the dude that posted you can quit crying now? HAHAHAHAHAHAAHA
We were promised more! I want what was promised and nothing more - Padawan and second character slot.
Listen to me little kid. YOU ARE GETING YOUR PADAWAN!!!
Intro quest is nothing more the the visit from the old man and a small quest that takes no more then 10 minutes. Why do you need to do this quest? Simple because YOU NEED the crystal wich the old man gives you and because YOU NEED to enter the village wich the quest grant you.
Finish quest. All you have to do is go kill an uber Sith Lord. With friends this would take you probably no more then 1h.
So overall after maybe no ore then 2h you will get your of so precious Padawan so stop complaining already YOU ARE geting what you want.
Geez some people are never happy.
I'm not a kid. Do you know what we get? We get jedi iniate not padawan. Thats a different story. I know ho am I to kill (the one with cyberarm Malisea is exit Quest - did it on TC2). I also know that you can fail and not be able to get padawan.
