Sweet! means you can follow that droid at a distance and jump the troop when i scans someone.. or send a friend out to get scanned with a band of rebels waiting for the troop drop.

guess what:

The new troopers are EXTREMELY tough.

Worth little faction to prevent JUST what you are talking about; farming patrol drops.

The ignorance is over whelming...

First: The idea that this nerfs smugglers is laughable.Smugglers are getting a new role, so, some players are not going to need the services, but tons more will. To all the people saying a overt imp would beat a smuggler to transport moun... The overt imp is a lot less likely to get from place to place unmolested since he's open to attack from rebels! The smuggler would still have the advantage.

Second: It is very starwarsy for high ranking imps not to be penalized. Hello! Evil Empire! Corruption runs rampant. Officers are above the law, lord over the regular folk, you know, what gives you the motivation to rebel. To borrow the logic of the NRA, lets look at evil dictator everyone loves to hate, Hitler. Hitler took away the people's guns (spices/sliced equipment) but he sure didn't take the guns away from high ranking Nazi's or the military. Why? He wanted to get away withhis evil shennanigansand not worry about an uprising.

Third: This is not forcing PVP on anyone. If you joined a faction you have consented to PVP. If you only want to play the game PVE you shouldn't be joining a faction.

Fourth: The penalties should go easier on Imps. There is a major population imbalance, rebs outnumbering imps by 63% as of the last stat compilation. Something needs to be done to make the imperial faction more attractive to players. This may help some nuetral players who are not sure which side to join to join imp and maybe even the populations a bit.

BTW, for the Non-PvP players who joined a side and are ticked off about this, ask yourself, why you joined a side, if your not PvP, then it must be for RP, if its for RP then your a Star Wars fan who should like this change. But if your not an RPer, then why the heck did you join a side? Just for the heck of it?

Having said that, if the Imperial penalty is lessened by Rank (because the whole point of being on the side of the Law is that you get to be above the Law), and if the Rebel penalty is a TEF (as opposed to an hour's being Overt, which is basically a death sentence for a non-PVP template), then I'd say these are Good Changes.

Before you lecture us about overwhelming ignorance, make sure you read closely.

You don't have to be Overt. A Covert Imperial Officer has a 100% chance of successfully smuggling.

And so a Covert Imperial Officer is better at transporting contraband than a Master Smuggler.

So laugh away at our ignorance, wise one...

1st, This is new content. NOTHING IS BEING TAKEN AWAY! NO SKILLS ARE BEING WEAKEND! What kind of definition of nerf are you using?

2nd, Tt's only a covert imperial with high rank. (I would like to know the definition of high rank actually...)

3rd, Not all imperials are high ranked.

4th, High ranked imperials can't help group members like smugglers can.

5th, A non reb smuggler who somehow gets caught will be fined at worse, not killed.

  • If allImperials were given the ability to hunt player bounties, I'd say that Bounty Hunters got nerfed.

  • If all Rebels were given +100 Accuracy in Flamethrowers and Rocket Launchers, I'd say that Commandos were nerfed.

  • And when all Imperial Officers are able to smuggle more effectively than a Smuggler, yes, that's pretty much a nerf.

When you steal the heart of a profession and give it to someone else who hasn't invested the skillpoints for it, it's a nerf. Just because the skills never existed before doesn't make it okay. In fact, it makes it a betrayal. Smugglers have waited seven months to be contraband specialists. This looked like the moment that they'd finally rise up and take over the smuggling role.

Instead, anybody who goes out and buys enough FP can smuggle better than a Smuggler, and people who invested their 63 skillpoints simply offer a few buffs to players.

Who knew that Smugglers were just around to buff, and that transporting contraband wasn't going to be their specialty? Not Smugglers.

there is a major problem though, because in major cities such as coronet, has at least a hundred people in front of the starport. and well if you think about it everone has at least a sliced item, due to the smugglers out in the front. assuming that all of them dont turn imp, then that would mean that anything imp around the starport area will be dead in a matter of minutes. the stormtroopers that fly in will be pulverized by the rebels with contraband items which means most of them....and the imps that will patroling around the city will be pulverized due to the shear number of "illigeal" rebels. the cantinas, i think that is a low blow, this is like doing a shakedown in the med centers. also i think there should be some attacks on player placed faction buildings(i dont know if there isnt), such as placed Hq's, it would only make sense...of couse unless there is. if im wrong please correct me, its just that i havent been able to get onto the test server. there shold be droids on AH too.

Furthermore, covert Imperials, regardless of rank, should be subject to penalties as well. You added all of this great Smuggler content, and then you instantly devalue it with the lack of any real Imperial penalties whatsoever.

This shows the corruption of the imperials. Remember this is not government of the people, by the people, and for the people, this is a pissy old wizard making everyone do what he wants because no one knows how to stop him. It all runs on power and low level imperial functionaries don't generally care about the regulations they enforce, so if they can salute and get out of some paperwork it makes their life easier.

i also have another question, isnt smuggling illegeal? so shouldnt any imperial cought smuggling spice be arested, fined, or get it confiscated. smuggling is illegeal, and in any star wars movie, any pilot discovered carrying spice was arrested, the whole han solo thing, why not now?

have you also noticed that the only people who saying that this system is perfect...are the high ranking imperial officers? they dont complain because not only are they almost all powerful, they also have a HUGE arsonal ofimp troopers walking around, as well as 8k ham troopers popping out of nowhere shooting at enemies. now covert and overt imps have an advantage over everything, but the rebels covert or overt have no chance at all of being non detected. i should just quit the rebels and walk around neutral its way too one sided. btw how big is the scans?

Quite frankly, this is BS. Imperials should have AT LEAST the pentaly of rebels andneutrals. If a police officer today were caught using crack or pushing heroin, the judge would probably slam the gavel down for a harsh sentence. I don't see this differing in the SWG universe.I am amazed that you listened to the (extremely vocal) imperials who don't care about the game overall (not that all imperials don't care) and made it a slap on the wrist offense for imperials.

Neutrals get a harsher penalty then corrupt inperials!?!??! What????? This is crazy.

Listening to the player base is fine, but let'suse some common sense please.

The first time I get 'cracked down' on while a corrupt imperial is puking his guts out after a Neutron Pixie hig is about whenI lose all faith in the common sense of the devs.

Tell me you are not really going to publish it this way please.... This irritates me a lot.

Regards and regrets,
