Thread: IT 6-6: Imperial Crackdown: Some changes made based on In-Test Feedback
EEEK. Overt or TEFed? Please clarify 8(
The new troopers are EXTREMELY tough.
Worth little faction to prevent JUST what you are talking about; farming patrol drops.
The ignorance is over whelming...
First: The idea that this nerfs smugglers is laughable.Smugglers are getting a new role, so, some players are not going to need the services, but tons more will. To all the people saying a overt imp would beat a smuggler to transport moun... The overt imp is a lot less likely to get from place to place unmolested since he's open to attack from rebels! The smuggler would still have the advantage.
Second: It is very starwarsy for high ranking imps not to be penalized. Hello! Evil Empire! Corruption runs rampant. Officers are above the law, lord over the regular folk, you know, what gives you the motivation to rebel. To borrow the logic of the NRA, lets look at evil dictator everyone loves to hate, Hitler. Hitler took away the people's guns (spices/sliced equipment) but he sure didn't take the guns away from high ranking Nazi's or the military. Why? He wanted to get away withhis evil shennanigansand not worry about an uprising.
Third: This is not forcing PVP on anyone. If you joined a faction you have consented to PVP. If you only want to play the game PVE you shouldn't be joining a faction.
Fourth: The penalties should go easier on Imps. There is a major population imbalance, rebs outnumbering imps by 63% as of the last stat compilation. Something needs to be done to make the imperial faction more attractive to players. This may help some nuetral players who are not sure which side to join to join imp and maybe even the populations a bit.
GamerProX wrote:BTW, for the Non-PvP players who joined a side and are ticked off about this, ask yourself, why you joined a side, if your not PvP, then it must be for RP, if its for RP then your a Star Wars fan who should like this change. But if your not an RPer, then why the heck did you join a side? Just for the heck of it?

Having said that, if the Imperial penalty is lessened by Rank (because the whole point of being on the side of the Law is that you get to be above the Law), and if the Rebel penalty is a TEF (as opposed to an hour's being Overt, which is basically a death sentence for a non-PVP template), then I'd say these are Good Changes.

Before you lecture us about overwhelming ignorance, make sure you read closely.
You don't have to be Overt. A Covert Imperial Officer has a 100% chance of successfully smuggling.
And so a Covert Imperial Officer is better at transporting contraband than a Master Smuggler.
So laugh away at our ignorance, wise one...
1st, This is new content. NOTHING IS BEING TAKEN AWAY! NO SKILLS ARE BEING WEAKEND! What kind of definition of nerf are you using?
2nd, Tt's only a covert imperial with high rank. (I would like to know the definition of high rank actually...)
3rd, Not all imperials are high ranked.
4th, High ranked imperials can't help group members like smugglers can.
5th, A non reb smuggler who somehow gets caught will be fined at worse, not killed.

- If allImperials were given the ability to hunt player bounties, I'd say that Bounty Hunters got nerfed.
- If all Rebels were given +100 Accuracy in Flamethrowers and Rocket Launchers, I'd say that Commandos were nerfed.
- And when all Imperial Officers are able to smuggle more effectively than a Smuggler, yes, that's pretty much a nerf.

Furthermore, covert Imperials, regardless of rank, should be subject to penalties as well. You added all of this great Smuggler content, and then you instantly devalue it with the lack of any real Imperial penalties whatsoever.
