While in the beginning the devteam seemed to push thru their concept, now they seem to have handed over the general game design to a bunch of immature whiners. Well done, devteam. You're going down the very same path quite a bunch of other MMOs went down already. Literally went down.

Well, you must know what you're doing.

You obviously read what you want to read.

The arguments against this change were logical and compelling, well reasoned, and pointed out that if the goal was to empower new crafters, the effect of the change would have the opposite effect...and established masters were the ones making the argument...for the good of the game, not themselves.

It's a shame when logic and reason are dismissed as "whining"; but then again, this is then norm of discourse in fratboy coward America.

I have read through most of the well reasoned posts arguing against this change in the other thread.

Now on this thread we see powergamer trollers calling the dev team all sorts of names.

This only makes me believe even more that reversing the change was the right thing to do.

Well its live, might as well leave it in for the week let everyone test it out. I like some of the changes I'd like to see it finally a Master can make better products then a dabbler. There is no sense on just ripping it out the next day. Let people mess with the changes to see how things experiment. Some will blow steam about leaving it, but may come to like the changes or wont that simple. And yes I am a Crafter Master Armorsmith , Master Artisan and Alt is also a crafter Master Weapons Smith, Master Architect

the overall experience from the patch so far is that it is good for us weaponsmiths, our power handlers do 3-4 points higher damage and pistol barrels adds some extra damage too, some weapons been effected in a bad way such as T21 but the overall result of this is so far good.

Testing myself...some compnents like blaster handlers, and melee comps are coming out higher damage IF you have more than 10 points to use. But the overall weapon build is subpar to yesterday...woohoo 2-3 points more damage but less accuracy and higher hams...no thanks.

Quote from Biggens:

"Old system laser carbine 12 exp points

40-269 3.6 spd 1036 cond

New Laser 12 exp points

41-279 3.4 spd 918 condition

new laser 10 exp points

41-267 3.6spd 918 cond - used all 10 points on dmg "

So yes, some weapons are getting a boost as expected, BUT only if you have extra experimentation points. You can put those extra experimentation points into the damage bar to get higher than before. So it puts an even great emphasis on obtaining skills tape since you can allocate more than 10 points into the damage bar. This is bad, and will not achieve what they were intending. It skyrockets the prices on tapes and puts an even greater barrier for new smiths.

I only worry what damage has already been done by leaving this system in for even a few hours. For the weapons that did get a boost for the 12-point smiths, you can bet they are furiously crafting today.

I'm very glad you decided to take the changes off the plate for now. It helps a lot for the posting players to see that thier feedback can resault in actual cahnges.

My surgestion now would be to look again at what it is you feel is wrong and broken about the current system. Break it down into individual problems, make a post for each, explaining what problem your seeing, how the changes would ahve helped the problem and ask for input and feedback on wherever the players agree with the problems, and if so what thier solutions would be. That way, hopefully we might be able to fiugre out a sulution to the problems in a way that both Dev's and the majority of players will feel happy with

To all the "SOE is catering to power gamers." What planet are you on? The new system catered even more to power gamers. 12 point master crafters would dominate the market, as would pre-nerf salesmen.

Man this is disappointing. The Devs' were doing something for the good of the game, damn what people thought about it but in the end they buckled to a bunch of people who want to be able to make masterwork equipment without having to work at it. What a bunch of whiners.

Please dev's don't revert the changes!
