All overt players can enter structures. It's players with a tef who can't And I believe I read the GCQ correspondent is working with the developers on changing that part of the system to some degree.

Can the devs explain how the second slot can be implemented across the account, for example, can I open a second slot on more than one server with the same account? Can I have Jedi on multiple servers if I do the quests, etc?

If two Jedi have proven an equal worth, who gets to move up the rank? That is what Light side Jedi will vote on.

I don't mind PvPing for rank so much as I mind very much a classroom full of 12 year olds voting me in to their clubhouse. I hope for the sake of a still salvagable game that this changes before live.

I think we will be ok on this, I think the DEVs figuring makes sense, the 12 year olds will be Dark Jedi, because they will be much more interseted in duling then voting, where as the more mature, would prefer voting in the right people for the counsel, for the good of all rather than seeking the power for themselves, plus I don't think it will just be the counsel voting, at first if some idiots get there first it may be annoying, but soon they will be bored, and as more peopel advance they will be voted out, and go to the dark side whrere they belong.

I moved to Corellia I have no vendor and I don't know the coords to my house, but it doesn't really matter cause all my pets are in the tool box, I may have some in space, but that doesn't really concern you either.

Jedi Robes
Long awaited are the Jedi robes! Gone will be the days of Jedi running about in armor. The Jedi robe will provide a hidden toughness value that will protect the Jedi similar to armor but provide more of a Jedi feel. These robes will be issued to you as you advance through the quests and throughout the Force Ranking system and each have their own look based on rank. Should you lose rank your robe will be stripped from you and the appropriate level reissued.

...Quick question which everyone seems to be skipping over. If the robes are supposed to act like armor, will they face the same decay values as other sets of armor in the game? If so, what happens after your robe basically decays away over time?

oh and on the issue of there being too many jedi, I just want to say that even if there are more jedi, I don't care. The simple fact is that if one wants to be a jedi then one shouldn't be denied that simply because of a lack of expendable time. People are paying for this game, so they ought to be able to do what they want. The ranking system is also a check against an innumerable amoung of jedi, and an ingenious one at that. Props.

TH,

I think for the most part the changes will be good, but for those people who have recently unlocked I think we have some issues.

1. How was it that many people made it to Guardian 4-4-4-4 so fast? If jedi xp was given for crafting lightsaber crafting kits or refined crystal packs in the beginning then taken out that does not seem at all fair to those who were not able to acquire xp the same way. It is hard to have respect for people who acquired their skill in this manner or also for the developers who took that option away from other jedi. Before a flame breaks out this is only going by what I was told that once upon a time jedi xp could be gained by crafting and kinda supported by many Guardian 4-4-4-4 characters running around the boards when I know it would take me nearly 4 months playing 9 hours a day just to make it to the second tier of the current system.

2. Crystals need to be a crafted item. No if, ands, or buts about it. The economy is going to hell and unfortunately it was not developed properly. It is not like it was a surprise either. First it was Krayt tissue weapons, then it was holocrons, next came pearls, and ultimately crystals. Well no one should be able to craft a pearl, but crystals should be able to be crafted. All crystals should have a standard damage to them after all we are talking about a weapon that slices through metal and cleanly cluts through flesh better than a ginzu knife chopes a tomato.

3. Overt status for jedi. Only other Jedi should be able to see a non tef'd jedi. No one ran up to Obiwan in Ep4 going "Whoa check out the jedi!" Jedi should be able to feel a presence in the force. Assign a new con color for Jedi. Maybe orange? And that is regardless of wearing the robe or not.

4. Lightsaber damage type should not be kinetic. Maybe call it plasma and give it heavy armor piercing. After all the lightsaber does cut through just about all forms of well anything.

An issue with armor.

Currently no one needs to make any type of armor other than comp because it fills every need. Armor levels need to be nerfed or the lower levels armor needs to be brought more in line with comp. I would love to see comp lose some abilities and see a reemergence of chiton and padded armor.

5. Jedi not being able to wear armor. Hmmm I know that in Ep 4 - 6 no one did, but take a look at the Clone Wars cartoon that was commissioned and what do you see? Wait isn't that a chest plate General Kenobi is wearing? Isn't he a *gasp* Jedi?

Becoming a Jedi has been one of the most fulfilling portions of this game for me. It has also been a testament to not giving up as I had to complete 31 professions to unlock. Look at all the material you have at your disposal before making such a big step for the player community. You have EU, LucasArts, and heck maybe even George himself to ask a question or two about the direction of this game. Just remember there s no Jedi Council for force sensitives who are light and the Dark Jedi for the most part are members of the Emperor's Hand or Royal Guards. Please take all that into consideration before you do what is ultimately a reimagining of the timeframe of Star Wars History that the old diehard fans know and love.

Ok, I'm just trying to clarify a few details in the Force Sensativity developement line, nothing major, just minor nuances.

Step 1: Quest to unlock Force Sensativity

(This unlocks the second slot, and is purely a quest, no skill points used).

Step 2: Unlock 24 Force Sensative Skill Blocks, this is done on either you primary or secondary character

(Unclear what these skills really are, and that's fine. What I really want to know is if they use skill points. Will these be the steps that will require me to start surrendering my pervious work)
Step 3: Complete the Jedi Padawan trials.

Here's how it works:

Step 1: Quests to unlock FS with Main, Alternate slot opens, Main has option to become padawan and advance as Jedi

Step 2(optional): Quest to unlock FS with Alternate, Alternate has option to become padawan and advance as Jedi.

So, in the old system, the secondary became Jedi. In the new system, both can be. In order to do it with both, you need to do the FS quests twice.

I'm afraid this does not answer my question, I should have started with

TH Wrote:

1. You do a quest (no skill changing involved at all!) you can unlock force sensitivity AND a new character slot. Skill changing WILL NOT be required.
2. You can choose to Proceed with Force Sensitivity progression by unlocking 24 blocks of associated Force Sensitive skills on your CURRENT character to attain Padawan via the padawan trials. BUT, it is not set is stone. There have been discussions to make the acquisition of the skills to happen during the quests to unlock Force Sensitivity. If we went that way then players could be able to go directly into the Jedi Padawan quests if they wanted to.

3. -OR- you can re-do the force sensitive quests on the new character and then unlock those 24 boxes on that NEW character preserving your primary character. You will have to go through the whole series of quests again if you want to be able to advance as a Jedi with the second character.

What I want to know more about is part about "unlocking 24 blocks of associated Force Sensitive skills" that takes place before you take the padawan trials and start developing Jedi as a profession. Does unlocking these blocks consume skill points and therefore require me to surrender my current skills to obtain them?

so let me get this straight....

-As you progress through the quests to unlock your FS slot (and extra char) your main char will have the option to use skill points to "force enhance" himself.

-After selecting enough of these extra skill boxes, your main char will have very little skill points left to use on "normal" skills.

-And once you achieve a certain number of skill boxes (18 was it?) you unlock your extra slot (a extra char that has no force abality yet, you must unlock with that char too).

Am I getting this right??

Great. More content for the select few who have attained Jedi-dom. A vast majority of the gaming population is going to go out and become Jedi, you do realize this, don't you? I guess it doesn't matter that there are still broken professions out there... after all, practically everyone is going to go become a Jedi, so what do we need to fix them for?
